Re: Offset flutes

2023-10-24 Thread cdkr...@gmail.com
What an idea, Curt! That is inspiringthank you for sharing!

Damhkit, I'm trying to relax after wandering through the checkering
maze. Waz gonna do metal work for an auxiliary saw handle for
a change of pace, but part of my brain will be distracted. Again.

The mod I made to my REVO changes the index from stationary
to moving as the gears turn the index plate. To make the cut in
one pass would involve cutting to a certain mark with the work
spindle locked (somehow in my case). Then unlock the work
spindle, engage the index pin in the gear driven index and continue
the cut spiraling to the next position where the spindle is locked
again and the index pin disengaged from the gear driven index.

This might be easily accomplished if one had two index plates, one
index secured to the spindle using a stationary pin like the original
setup, and one index plate adjacent that moves the spindle with the
gears using an arm secured to the spindle (like my mod=similar to Curts).
Now that has to be getting close to some of the sophisticated OT action.

Once I have everything shipped and a good idea of what is left I will post

So stay tuned for updates.

I will continue with updates on shipping processes privately for those that
