The checkered handle is one of my favorite templates, but up until now checkering I've not done, The size of the checkering to the spindle, looks to big, as least It is not what I was hoping for, Perhaps, I should have gone smaller?

The other two are nice, but perhaps a little on the thin side.

Its all part of the learning curve here.

If anyone has any idea, on designs and or detail elements, Please let me know.

 Hey guys. (just got home.)
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
Dan, post me to those e-mails as well. I would like to see what you are doing.
Dan, I agree as far as the checkering went on that bone handle.( I think for
the scale of it, smaller would look better.) I will be doing another one soon
with smaller diamonds, so we will see, more on this topic soon.
The Supper Shop is a shop smith on steroids'.  No first hand Experience with
one. but they are much bigger and heaver then the SS.
Take care everyone.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who choose to celebrate this holiday.

2023-11-22 Thread M.W.Foscue
Jeff,

For "Speed Range" on your Shopsmith - check out the relatively "new" PowerPro
Headstock and perhaps even the Touch Screen control pad they came out with
earlier this year. Both versions are a significant improvement over the
previous belt-driven headstocks. Additionally they both will run on 120v or
220v - with you only needing to swap out the plug; the electronics make the
adjustment internally. And when you go the 220v route - you supposedly get a
full 2HP! Sooo - you will get both speed and power improvements.

Let us know which route you go - the original PowerPro Conversion or the most
recent TouchScreen PowerPro.

up a

design unique to Supershops for a jig that will turn accurate spheres and
hollows

and cut nested bowls from a blank. It's a metal working challenge outside the

Hey Curt,

They still look pretty cool though. I agree the diamond pattern is slightly
large for the handle

but still looks great. Keep the inspiration going Curt.

I did put my rotary table on my Revo last night so my heart is in the right

Hello Everyone.

Started working with bone again today.

I made 3 handles.

I have been playing around with new designs/shapes and patterns, to see what
looks good, and find new possibility's that will work with what I am doing.

The checkered handle is one of my favorite templates, but up until now
checkering I've not done, The size of the checkering to the spindle, looks to
big, as least It is not what I was hoping for, Perhaps, I should have gone
smaller?

The other two are nice, but perhaps a little on the thin side.

Its all part of the learning curve here.

If anyone has any idea, on designs and or detail elements, Please let me know.

Have a good day everyone.
