These are my version of "Bill's " gauge block concept / spacing method for 
roping on the Legacy.

  

(I say Bill's concept, but its not really his concept, He is the first in our 
group to use gauge blocks for spacing on the Legacy, "That I know of", But 
gauge blocks have been used for hundreds of years in the machining industry.)

  

Anyhow these are my version, I used square stock (key stock to many.) I used 
1/4" and 1/2" square stock to make these.

  

How they are used.  

by setting the stops on the Legacy acme screw as a starting point, all you need 
to do is return the carriage to the original starting, dis-engage the split nut 
and use the stop as a measuring platform, With the gauge block touching the 
stop and the split nut body , will make sure your spacing is exactly where you 
want it to be every time.

I mounted them on my 200, so they are easy to find and use when needed.

  

Simple tools for getting the job done.

I use precisely cut wood blocks typically made from baltic birch that work
great for me.
I mark each one for the width they are with a Red Sharpie.
