Re: moulding bed with fence.

2019-07-16 Thread Tim Ziegler
Thanks Curtis. No I'm going to make another set up for that I think. Going
to be times I'm going to want material to slide through too. So some of the
clamps that were suggested to me think I'm going to get as well as some
other ideas floating around in my head. Yes I just need to slow down and
spend time on it. Kind regards Tim of ZWW

Has anyone done this or have any feed back? This is certainly not perfected but

RE: moulding bed with fence.

2019-07-13 Thread Tim
There are so many versions you can make out of sacrificial materials. Those
Legacy clamps are very nice, I have a set and they are close to comparable to
metal working clamps. When I mentioned clamps I was suggesting more along the
lines of https://www.destaco.com/clamps.html . Look around, there are many
copies available from retail stores and ebay.

In the past I’ve shown examples of low profile clamps, try to do a search in
the group for “low profile clamps” It should yeald something. Also Harold
Hall has many examples of low profile clamps. Think of using commercial pvc
plate as a suitable material instead of steal. Even corian is easy to work
with and with a little psa sandpaper strips on the contacting surfice will give
you a death grip on wood.

This is such a huge long winded topic!

Re: moulding bed with fence.

2019-07-13 Thread Tim Ziegler
Thanks Tim,
Yes not a big fan of Tape. Has to be quick and secure.
I think the low profile clamps or wedges sound good. I'm going to test some
wedging today and look on line
for some good clamps as well.

Kind Regards,

In production, I would use low profile lamps (manual) or air cylinders or a
vacuum table or wedges, anything but double sided tape.  Never trust small
items to double sided tape.
