Re: [LegacyUG] county formation question
Barton, I looked on AniMap and it shows that in 1849 Big Stone Gap sits right on the line between Lee and Scott Counties. If I were to guess I would say it was a hair more into Lee County :) On Feb 1, 2015 11:07 PM, Barton Lewis bartonle...@optonline.net mailto:bartonle...@optonline.net wrote: I have a relative who was born in Big Stone Gap, VA in 1849 which today is in Wise Co. How does one handle this type of situation when a county was formed from more than one county? I guess I should be ambitious and try to determine exactly which county Big Stone Gap was in in 1849. Nope. Just save your file to the OneDrive folder on your hard drive. Remember, if you are going to have your file on cloud storage you can't have the file open on two computers at the same time. When you are done on the first computer close Legacy and give OneDrive time to sync before opening the file on the second computer. OneDrive will tell you when you are completely sync'd, Files are up to date, it will also tell you the date and time they last sync'd.) Definitely cloud storage as long as you remember not to have the file open on both computers at the same time. Once you are done with the first computer close Legacy completely and allow OneDrive to sync before you try opening it on the second computer. If you have it open on two computers at the same time, and the files are different, and they sync at the same time you risk corrupting your database. How does one handle this type of situation when a county was formed from more than one county? I guess I should be ambitious and try to determine exactly which county Big Stone Gap was in in 1849. I’ve poked around and can’t find it. What if (for the sake of argument) that could not be determined. What county should the relative be listed as being born in?
