Re: [LegacyUG] Find a person attached to a picture
Great instructions, Jenny. I will try that tomorrow. Thanks for the quick response. Curious why I need to rename the file, because it cannot find the file as it is now. But, that is probably because of the path vs. the name? Anyway, I will understand more tomorrow anyway.Love your families,Bob Original message From: Jenny M Benson Date: 3/11/21 6:48 PM (GMT-05:00) To: legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Find a person attached to a picture On 11/03/2021 22:28, Genealogy Bob wrote:> When I use FamiliesSync to export to my phone, I get a list of errors. DO NOT rename the file from within Legacy!2 Rename the file in some easily-remembered way. Eg. delete the J from JONES.3 In Legacy, click Media Relinker. Legacy will report there are n files missing and ask if you want to view the list in your text editor. Click Yes.4 Your text editor will show the person and place where the file is missing. [LegacyUG] Find a person attached to a picture
When I use FamiliesSync to export to my phone, I get a list of errors. I have a few errors that say "Picture file not found". Fortunately the file name has a person name, but I don't have any person with those names in my file. I recognize the names from another Family File, that may have been used as a template many years ago. I would like to eliminate the errors, but can only do that by disassociating the media from the person. The relinker can find the picture, but that is not my problem. I want to find the person looking for that picture. So my question is: How do I find the person who has media attached for file named "JONES Ralph, GA, 19271213.jpg" It could have been attached to a person, to an event, or to a source. -- LegacyUserGroup mailing list LegacyUserGroup@legacyusers.com To manage your subscription and unsubscribe http://legacyusers.com/mailman/listinfo/legacyusergroup_legacyusers.com Archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/
Re: [LegacyUG] Relationships
The usual recommendation seems to be set it to 10 - 20, on the basis that your family tree will not be that complex in terms of the number of generations that it needs to work through looking for a common ancestor. My largest line is about 14 generations. That said, I always run with 999 blood and 5 non-blood relationships, and it does not seem to impact the performance. I suppose that it would cause issues if your tree had weird, and probably invalid, links to work through. [LegacyUG] Relationships
When setting up the Set Relationships for a person under the Blood Relationships section, a number from 1-999 can be entered, I was wondering how many most researchers enter, I have mine set at 6, I'm not sure if I'm too low. -- LegacyUserGroup mailing list LegacyUserGroup@legacyusers.com To manage your subscription and unsubscribe http://legacyusers.com/mailman/listinfo/legacyusergroup_legacyusers.com Archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/
