Re: [LegacyUG] Assigned sources for: (what are these?)

2009-12-21 Thread Jim Walton
The default for Mother and Father rel is natural, indicating that they are
the natural parents of the child. If the child was adopted, that would show
in the relationship.

If you right click on a child and select children's settings, you will see
some boxes at the bottom of the window where you can set these
relationships. Normally they are not used.

Most of these do not actually exist. They're 'potential events/facts'. If
 you
look at the rest of the row for each of these items, you'll see columns for
Source List Name, Detail and Y. Entries in these columns are what determine
whether the events exits or not. When you cite a source for a fact, entries
will be placed in these other columns.

Most of them are self-explanatory - or should be - once you know what the
 abbreviations stand for.

 rel = relationship
Marr = married (one per spouse)

Because the events 'Had No Children', 'Did not Marry' etc. do *not* have a
citation, they don't exist. At least, not as far as reports are concerned.

Bill,
As you're fixing all your sources, are you sticking with the Basic
system or moving them to SourceWriter?
I've been converting all of mine to SW but find that I occasionally need
to do some file maintenance to keep everything working properly. Since
Legacy added SW, I'm assuming that, going forward, it will be the format
more favored. What do you think?
Thanks,

If you uncheck the Show All Events you will notice that the unused ones
