If you look up File Extensions in Help you will find a list of many of 
Legacy's files and their purpose, but I don't know if it includes ALL of 
them.  (Suspect it doesn't.)


To be on the safe side, don't delete ANYTHING unless you are certain it 
is no longer needed.  But if you are finding the proliferation of files 
with the same name confusing, why don't you rename your current Family 
File?  That way you will know which files definitely belong to the 
current working file.  You could then move the older files to some same 
place from where you can restore them if you find they ARE wanted/needed.
