RE: [LegacyUG] Family files available in Legacy
Pat, I personally prefer to use a Windows browse box to list my files. Try this and see if you like what you see better… Options Customize 12. Other Settings Scroll to 12.5 and click Turn on or off Optional Reminder Messages Make sure you are on the Messages tab and at the bottom change it to Always use the Windows dialog box to select a file. Now try File Open If this isn’t what you are looking for you can always change it back. Re: [LegacyUG] Family files available in Legacy
I agree with Michele that it's a lot easier to use the Windows Explorer option to find your files. However if there are a few files (up to 10) that you use regularly, click on the round L icon in the upper left corner (or the System tab, depending on your selection for Design Styles) to show the most recently used files. If you click on the big blue L in the upper left corner (or the System menu option in certain configurations), you get a list of your most recently used family files. The 2 you use most should be at the top of the list most of time. Using the Windows Open dialog, make sure that the dialog is using the Details view and that it shows the 'Date modified' field. Now, click on the column heading to sort the files according to when they were last modified. If you make sure that the 'direction' glyph points downwards, your files will listed from the most recently saved to the earliest. Thus, your latest working files should always be near the top of the list. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg (g) Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
