RE: [LegacyUG] Family files available in Legacy

2014-02-25 Thread Michele/Support
Pat,
I personally prefer to use a Windows browse box to list my files. Try this and
see if you like what you see better…

Options Customize 12. Other Settings
Scroll to 12.5 and click Turn on or off Optional Reminder Messages
Make sure you are on the Messages tab and at the bottom change it to Always use
the Windows dialog box to select a file.

Now try File Open
If this isn’t what you are looking for you can always change it back.

In Leg8 when I click on Open File, I get a list of family files and of the two
I want (both of which I keep in Dropbox) are at the very end.

I don't want a whole list; I just want those two to be readily available. How
do I achieve that? Thanks,

Pat

Re: [LegacyUG] Family files available in Legacy

2014-02-25 Thread Sherry/Support
I agree with Michele that it's a lot easier to use the Windows Explorer
option to find your files.

However if there are a few files (up to 10) that you use regularly, click
on the round L icon in the upper left corner (or the System tab,
depending on your selection for Design Styles) to show the most recently
used files.

Sincerely,
Sherry

Here's another tip that might go some way to avoiding opening the wrong,
similarly named file. Using the Windows Open dialog, make sure that the dialog is
using the Details view and that it shows the 'Date modified' field. Now, click
on the column heading to sort the files according to when they were last
modified. If you make sure that the 'direction' glyph points downwards, your
files will listed from the most recently saved to the earliest. Thus, your
latest working files should always be near the top of the list.
