[lfs-dev] extra space at the end of a line
Hi, In chapter06/gcc.xml, there is an extraspace at the end of the line --enable-threads=posix \ . This makes configure start right after that line when copying and pasting, without reading the other options. Hrmm, the patch is right, and the only upstream patches that touch parse.y (the file where the original fix was implemented) are the 011 and 012 patches which have been incorporated since our -5 and -6 patches respectively. No one has reported a problem. I cannot personally attest to the latest -8 patch, so it boils down to this being an upstream error with one of their patches (015, 016, or 017), user error, or a new bug. -- Archaic Want control, education, and security from your operating system? Coming to the end of a BLFS 6.1 build (at long last)
Building OpenOffice. 1.1.4 doesn't seem to be available. Can anyone confirm/deny that 1.1.5 can be built wth 1.1.4 instructions/patches please. Otherwise, I'll have to download 1.1.4 from anduin I guess. Many thanks. Re: This is the end
Goodybye, Jeremy, I learnt some things from you, and although I probably didn't get to know you all that well, I liked talking to you in #lfs-support when I did. Seeing as you were also wearing as many hats as you were, I'm sure this will also be a great loss to the project. I understand the need for hiatus, though...Linux can get on top of me as well at times. I'm writing this from XP, actually! *gasp* Good luck with whatever you decide to do next. :) -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-dev FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/faq/ Unsubscribe: See the above information page

This wasn't an easy decision, and though I'll miss all of this and all of you a great deal, I'm convinced it was the right one to make.
