[lfs-dev] extra space at the end of a line

2012-03-10 Thread Pierre Labastie
Hi,

In chapter06/gcc.xml, there is an extraspace at the
end of the line --enable-threads=posix \ . This makes
configure start right after that line when copying and pasting,
without reading the other options.

Regards
Pierre

Fwd: Bash-3.1.17 gets lost looking for end of string in certain contexts

2006-05-01 Thread Richard

For the benefit of the community I copy you my email upstream due to a bug
in Bash-3.1.17: it gets lost looking for end of string in certain contexts.

Would be nice if other fellow participants of the list could confirm
similar finding. I hope it's not just me...

This issue was fixed around 3.1.10. If the patches were created properly
by us and applied properly by you, then this should not happen. I'll
look into it. Thanks for the report.

Hrmm, the patch is right, and the only upstream patches that touch
parse.y (the file where the original fix was implemented) are the 011
and 012 patches which have been incorporated since our -5 and -6 patches
respectively. No one has reported a problem. I cannot personally attest
to the latest -8 patch, so it boils down to this being an upstream error
with one of their patches (015, 016, or 017), user error, or a new bug.

Coming to the end of a BLFS 6.1 build (at long last)

2005-11-23 Thread S. Anthony Sequeira
Building OpenOffice.

1.1.4 doesn't seem to be available.

Can anyone confirm/deny that 1.1.5 can be built wth 1.1.4 instructions/patches
please.

Otherwise, I'll have to download 1.1.4 from anduin I guess.

Many thanks.

Goodybye, Jeremy,
I learnt some things from you, and although I probably didn't get to know
you all that well, I liked talking to you in #lfs-support when I did.
Seeing as you were also wearing as many hats as you were, I'm sure this will
also be a great loss to the project.
I understand the need for hiatus, though...Linux can get on top of me as
well at times. I'm writing this from XP, actually! *gasp*
Good luck with whatever you decide to do next. :)

Jeremy,

Thanks very much for all your efforts that have encompassed so many
different areas of the LFS project. Your devotion and enthusiasm will
be sorely missed, and as much as I wish I could stop you from leaving
I'm not going to try. It's clear you've made your decision, and I

All the best for the future, you'll be welcomed back here any time of

Thank you all for your kind replies. I must admit that I got a little
choked up when I saw the number of quick and warm responses. This wasn't
an easy decision, and though I'll miss all of this and all of you a
great deal, I'm convinced it was the right one to make.

Tomorrow I'll try to take care of any loose ends with my account on
belgarath, and whatever administration issues the LiveCD and ALFS
projects need. So I'll probably be active a bit tomorrow. Once those are
all cared for, I'll be taking my break.

jenacon.net has been severely neglected, so whenever I get back online,
perhaps I'll spend some time cleaning that up. If you need to reach me
after tomorrow, my email is jeremy at jenacon.net

Thanks again...
