[lfs-support] partitioning question
Hello all, I've looked over everything that goes into Linux From Scratch, and funny enough, I am stuck on the first step. While I am experienced with both cfdisk and fdisk, what should I boot in order to use those utilities? The instructions are a bit vague there, only saying to use one. If I boot to a Slackware disk, could I use cfdisk from there and keep going? Are there any special measure that need taken? Thanks, William -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page

I used GParted from a Knoppix live distro however I don't believe it matters what DISTRO used provided it has all the required software described in Host System Requirements (Intro page xviii) -- Jim -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page

Yes. Are there any special measure that need taken? No special measures. Do what you would ordinarily do when partitioning a drive. If dual-booting, make sure you won't destroy the ability do boot any other systems present. Details depend on details. -- Svi moji e-mailovi su kriptografski potpisani. Proverite ih. If I boot to a Slackware disk, could I use cfdisk from there and keep going? Yes.
