 OK, I'll admit that I'm very puzzled by that.

 What sort of time errors do you see - is it a few minutes, or
hours, or does it vary ?

 Is the machine connected to the world ?  If so, is ubuntu using ntp
to get the time, and is your LFS system using ntp ?  Is the date
itself correct in the LFS system ?

I asked for gdm log*s*, not log that is also Xorg.log. /var/log/gdm 
should contain dozen of them. From what I see, DRI is available but 
still not found. Post output of "groups" command ran as normal user.

I noticed that .xsession-errors looks nearly the same (ssh-agent error, 
gtk-engines error, networkmanager error), but at least caribou error is 
gone.

Hi

I have gdm 3.4 but I couldnt find either of the below files:-

~/cache/gdm/session.log (for gdm 3.6 and latter) or
~/.xsession-errors (for gdm 3.4 and earlier).
