Are we using SimpleReferenceObject correctly?
Dear all, As described in the mailing-list-thread Issues building LibreOffice 4.0.0.1 http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice/2013-January/044838.html I am trying to build and package LibreOffice 4.0.0.* for KaarPux http://kaarpux.kaarposoft.dk/ I am starting a new mailing-list thread here to try to address one issue at a time. With LibreOffice 4.0.0.2, Stephans patch http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=d71e8fb17bd008751909ef2fabc6ff4f1e2db187 no other pathes and the configuration attached as config.txt building is now stuck at [build LNK] Library/libmysqllo.so with undefined reference to 'typeinfo for salhelper::SimpleReferenceObject' See attached libmysqllo_lnk_error.txt googel'ing the error message tends to indicate a problem with virtual functions. salhelper/inc/salhelper/simplereferenceobject.hxx has class SALHELPER_DLLPUBLIC SimpleReferenceObject { [...] protected: virtual ~SimpleReferenceObject() SAL_THROW(()); [...] }; I am no C++ expert, but as far as I can tell, this makes SimpleReferenceObject an abstract class, and subclasses should declare and implement ~SimpleReferenceObject. A simple grep shows that we have ORowSetValueDecorator defined in places like connectivity/inc/connectivity/inc/FValue.hxx And as far as I can see, ORowSetValueDecorator does NOT declare ~ORowSetValueDecorator Grepping for other uses of SimpleReferenceObject turns up many references, and I picked one at random: xmloff/inc/xmloff/formlayerimport.hxx Here we have class XMLOFF_DLLPUBLIC OFormLayerXMLImport :public ::salhelper::SimpleReferenceObject { OFormLayerXMLImport_Impl* m_pImpl; public: OFormLayerXMLImport(SvXMLImport _rImporter); ~OFormLayerXMLImport(); So, the subclass here DOES implement ~SimpleReferenceObject as ~OFormLayerXMLImport() As I am certainly no C++ expert, please allow me to ask this question to the list: Are we using SimpleReferenceObject correctly? In particular, maybe we should define ~SimpleReferenceObject in all subclasses ? Thanks in advance for any input on this. /Henrik - echo: autogen - sh: ./autogen.sh # TRY TO KEEP THE OPTIONS IN THE SAME SEQUENCE AS ./configure --help --prefix=${KX_PREFIX} # For debuging: build packages in sequential order --with-parallelism=1 # When (re-)building sequential build can be achived with: # make PARALLELISM=1 # Disable LibreOffice includes self-packaging code --disable-epm # This option disables installing the office development kit --disable-odk # TODO: Consider --enable-mathmldtd Enable bundling of (modified) MathML 1.01 DTD. # Allows the built-in evolution 2 addressbook connectivity build to be enabled. --enable-evolution2 # Include debugging symbols in output. # WARNING - a complete build needs 8 Gb of space and takes much longer (enables -g compiler flag). # --enable-symbols # Enable link-time optimization. [Libreoffice-commits] Changes to 'feature/bplustree'
New branch 'feature/bplustree' available with the following commits: commit bfd8ba2869dacd0d6881332e7ab2e9d2f4597af6 Author: Jan Holesovsky ke...@suse.cz Date: Sun Jan 27 23:51:27 2013 +0100 B+ tree: Experimenting with replacement of BigPtrArray. The BigPtrArray implementation does not seem to be entirely optimal from the data structure point of view. Let's experiment with a drop-in replacement using a B+ tree (not B-tree!) that seems to be much more fit for the purpose - it nicely handles holes in the indices (ie. does not eat your entire memory if you insert just one entry at 100), and allows traversing all the data in O(n). From reading the code, I believe these were the only requirements for BigPtrArray. Eg. seeing that BigPtrArray::Insert() can lead to copying of the entire content of the BlockInfo array makes me feel a bit dizzy. Other aspects of BigPtrArray remind of a naive B+ tree (without the actual tree) implementation, see eg. BigPtrArray::Index2Block() and its binary search. The other advantage is that if the B+ tree implementation works (ie. compares well with BigPtrArray from the performance point of view), I believe it will allow larger update of the entire Writer core, mainly in the area of undo, redo, and change tracking - via copy-on-write, and remembering the entire B+ trees (with most of the metadata + data shared). This commit only copies the BigPtrArray API to a new header. The implementation itself will reuse no code from BigPtrArray. Re: [Libreoffice-qa] Stagnant NEEDINFO bugs
Hi Joel, If you are asking our opinion on these ... Le 2013-01-26 17:22, Joel Madero a écrit : Hi All, During our last QA call we came up with a plan for NEEDINFO bugs that have been stagnant for 6+ months. I've decided to remove this from the minutes because there are some concerns about the agreement that was made. It was requested that we have a discussion through a thread about what we should do about these bugs. Let's try to keep this thread moving and organized so we can make a decision once and for all. Goal should be to minimize flare ups from users while keeping in mind that our long term QA goal is to get FDO organized, accurate and under control. With that, I'll let the thread move forward :-D Options: (feel free to add) a) Leave them alone, accept that most will just sit in NEEDINFO forever b) Automate a reminder for these bugs and leave it at that, if it doesn't lead to anything, so be it, leave the bugs alone c) a reminder + automated closing of bug after some period of time d) a 3 strikes type system - send one reminder, a month later send a second with a warning the bug will be closed, then close the bug These are the options that come to mind. Best Regards, Joel P.S. Florian - please hold off on writing something about our previous agreement until we reach some consensus here. +1 for d) BUT make it a real 3 strikes. one reminder, a month later send another reminder, a month later send the last reminder with a warning that the bug will be closed in one month. The 3-strikes concept is understandable to most people and I believe the submitter would be more understanding if the bug were closed. It also gives more than an abundant amount of time to fill out the missing details of the bug -- from start to end would take 4 months. This would hopefully quiet the noise from disgruntled submitters and allow QA people enough time to get to them if they find some of them important enough for a closer look. Hopefully most of these would be taken care in shorter amount of time. Re: [Libreoffice-qa] installing 400rc2 parallel on Windows - no way to choose extensions ?
Hi, On Sun, Jan 27, 2013 at 10:59 PM, V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu wrote: Andras, So as per the Installing_in_parallel Wiki https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel#Version_3.5.x_and_newer: to install a parallel instance, should we be setting a WRITEREGSITRY=0 when doing the command line /A administrative installation? Administrative installation just extracts the embedded CAB file onto the disk in the right folder structure. It does not write anything to registry. WRITEREGISTRY property has no effect. And other than adjusting the *UserInstallation=* location of the program\bootstrap.ini file so as to not clobber the existing user profile--the administrative install becomes the working parallel installation? Does the system default language become the language of the administrative install? Or does it always remain 1033, en-US? AFAIK default language selection happens at first start. Couldn't LibreOffice program features and alternate languages be configured and applied against the administrative install using a .MST transform file? And how complicated would that have to be to end up with a usable alternate installation--not needing to run the recast .MSI located in the administrative install's folder. If I understand correctly, you would like to test custom installations, where not all features are present, parallel. I don't know, how to do that right. One option is to manually delete files that belong to a given feature. I don't know how to manipulate administrative images with MST files. Help tells very general: Undoing password protection: To remove a password, open the document, then save without password. So the observed behavior might be intended, but such a function would be completely useless. When I decide that nobody should be able to edit a document except people who know the PW, it's not acceptable that that protection can be bypassed so easily. There seems no real difference to Open write Protection, the current PW Edit protection seems rather useless to me. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59932] New: FILEOPEN: Text boxes with bulleted lists containing wrapped text resize when re-opening saved .pptx format
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59932 Priority: medium Bug ID: 59932 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FILEOPEN: Text boxes with bulleted lists containing wrapped text resize when re-opening saved .pptx format Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: michael.bro...@onleygroup.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.2.2 release Component: Presentation Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 73731 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=73731action=edit Slide with four text boxes originally in a two-by-two arrangement, now malaligned. Problem description: When saving a LibreOffice Impress file as .pptx for compatibility, text boxes containing bullets are ruined. On reopening the file, any text boxes with wrapped text are shown with their horizontal dimension extended so that there is no longer any wrapped text. The text boxes therefore render with their left border far leftwards from their original position, ruining the slide layout. Also, the bullets in these text boxes render as an empty square (no known character) instead of their original bullet character. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open an existing PPTx document created by MS PowerPoint (document renders correctly initally) 2. Add a few slides, and add some text boxes to the slide. Create a bulleted list with enough text in at least one of the lines so that it wraps onto another line. 3. Save the document in .pptx compatibility. 4. Reopen the document and navigate to the slide you created. 5. Marvel at how your corporate presentation has been totally obliterated! 6. Wonder why you ever thought ditching MS Office and embracing FLOSS office packages was a good idea... Current behavior: - Text boxes with wrapped text become horizontally enlarged so that no more text wrapping occurs. - Bullet point characters are forgotten and render as empty squares. Expected behavior: - Text boxes retain the size and position that the user told them to be - Bullet point lists retain the bullet point characters that were selected by the user - Wrapped lines stay wrapped Operating System: Ubuntu Version: 3.6.2.2 release -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
