Re: Looking for the solution for Bug 43340
Hi Liang, Liang Weike píše v Po 23. 09. 2013 v 09:13 +0800: When I used the previous libreoffice(3.3, 3.4, etc.) I found the caret disappeared when inserting a new slide via slide button in the toolbar. But after I used LO from the version 4.0.1.2 I found the bug did not appear any more. This bug only exists on Windows platform and it doesn't exist on Linux platform. I also found its number(43340) on LO Bugzilla. I'm interested in the solution code for the bug. So is there anybody who knows the patch for this bug or knows where the corresponding code is? Thanks in advance. Unfortunately I don't know what might have fixed that; maybe you'll get a better advice, but if not, you can at least use git bisect to find out what fixed that. First of all, install the 4.0 alphas / betas to see if it was fixed between the first 4.0 builds - if yes, it limits the time when it was fixed. If not, at least the bug says that 3.6.6.2 still had the problem; in other words, try to limit the versions where the problem disappeared. And then git bisect; there are descriptions on the web how to do that, eg. http://alblue.bandlem.com/2011/07/git-tip-of-week-git-bisect.html Unfortunately it will mean a few rebuilds - but should point you the commit quite reliably when you are bisecting ~recent code. Hope that helps, Kendy ___ LibreOffice mailing list LibreOffice@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice

Re: inter-sheet formulas don't automatically update any more?
OK, thank you for letting me know. Is there a bug number where I can track this? Unfortunately it's a showstopper bug for us right now. Thanks, Yi On Mon, Sep 23, 2013 at 12:18 PM, Markus Mohrhard markus.mohrh...@googlemail.com wrote: Hey, 2013/9/23 Yi Ding yi.s.d...@gmail.com It seems like since the release of 4.1 inter-sheet formulas (formulas that span multiple sheets in the spreadsheet) don't automatically update themselves anymore. Is this a bug or a feature? It is a bug and can be fixed with a CTRL+SHIFT+F9. Somehow the formula tree is not built during import right now. Support in research about newcomers
Hello, I am a PhD Candidate from Brazil. My research is interest is on how to support new contributors during their first steps in the project. My final goal is to verify what kind of tooling is appropriate to support the newcomers overcoming their difficulties when they are willing to contribute to the project. The first step of my reasearch is to find out what are the main obstacles and difficulties faced by these newcomers. My goal is to hear from the community itself. I need your help answering three quick questions available here: http://igor.pro.br/limesurvey/index.php?sid=89755lang=en You will not take more than 10 minutes, and the survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you unless a specific question in the survey has asked for this. Each of those sheets contain values for a scenario. If you print the document or export it as a PDF, those sheets are also printed. Steps to reproduce: 1. Get an Excel book including scenarios and open it with Calc. http://www.openoffice.org/sc/testdocs/index.html http://www.openoffice.org/sc/testdocs/scenarios_import_biff8_12.xls 2. See extra sheets appear. 3. If you print the whole book, those extra sheets are also printed. Current behavior: See above. Expected behavior: Ideally those Excel scenarios are imported as Calc's scenarios. Or at least they should not be treated as a visible part of the worksheet. Additional info: - It might be a valid feature, but I could not found any reference to it on the User Guide or Wiki. - Apache OO 3.4.1 / 4.0.0 also exhibit the same problem. - I found the following OOo-era bug report which says the import function had been implemented in OOo 3 circa 2009. https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=99426 - I also found an ancient bug report c.2007 in downstream Ubuntu bug database, which claims the exact same issue. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56696] Recent Documents list show items for just the currently active LibreOffice module
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56696 --- Comment #16 from Mick Florey mick.flo...@ntlworld.com --- I strongly disagree, to the point that me (and especially my wife! She gets VERY annoyed!) would stop using LibreOffice. (and revert back to Office 97!) The reason: because we generally use ONE program at a time. Generally Spreadsheet OR Word, rarely both! Very annoying to open Excel/ Calc and click open and find no excel documents in the list (only Writer/ doc files)!! :( THIS IS VERY bad, for me! So a fix for this would be to have several types of (optional) recent docs displayed in a pull down menu. E.g. Recent Calc; Recent Writer (.doc), etc. Maybe these (if required) could be enabled/ disabled under the preference/ options setting. When putting a Enter, splitting up the alinea, the variables in the second part ar showing correctly the correct value. I additionally tested in 3.6.5 portable and 4.1.0 portable and got the same results. Using the default separator Komma, shows correct separation. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Calc 2. type a number laerger or equal 1 000 000 3. right click on cell and select Format Cells 4 . select Numbers 5. select General 6. select Use Thousands Seperator 7. replace Komma with space (the most international thousands seperator) 8. result: 1000 000 (all spaces after the first thousand group are missing) Current behavior: For numbers larger or equal to 1 000 000 the thousands separator space does separate only the first group of digits leading to results like 1000 000 1 000 10 000 Expected behavior: Replacing of the thousand separator Komma with Space should work for all digits like the separator Komma Because the Space as a thousands separator is the most internationally understood separator I also propose to add this to Calc.
