Mike, that was very helpful, thanks! With a 64-bit release I can also repro.
I'm adding that to the summary, and adjusting the version field to the oldest
known version.

Also removing regression-related keywords, since it doesn't seem to be one.
Branman2000, if you're certain the older versions where it worked were 64-bit
as well, let us know.

Interesting, what do people think about, when they take a bug filed by someone
having the problem in 2015, and hijack it asserting that it only started
recently?

If you feel that there's a problem that wasn't there in a previous release,
than it must be a new problem, and should be tracked in a new issue #. However,
most probably, it is some specific property of your system that prevented this
bug from appearing in previous versions; if the symptoms and workarounds match
your experience, then just assume it's the same, but don't change fields to a
version that you guess.

Yep, thats all understood, but the ODBC driver has no way of knowing that that
memory is now free, so will continue to write into it.

The problem seems to be limited to the 64bit-version.

I did some testing with the same presentation:
- crashed 5.0.0.1, 5.0.1.1, 5.0.6.1, 5.0.6.3 (x64)
- played once 5.1.0.1, 5.2.0.1, 5.3.0.1, 5.4.0.1, 5.4.2.2 (x64)

- repeating 4.4.7.2 (x32), 5.0.0.1 (x32), 5.4.1.2 (x32)

Being new to bugzilla I didn't change version or hardware for this bug report

m_pSkipDeletedSet is a unique_ptr so it'll be automatically destroyed in the
destructor of OResultSet
see
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/connectivity/source/inc/odbc/OResultSet.hxx#138

About m_pRowStatusArray, it's also a unique_ptr
see
https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/connectivity/source/inc/odbc/OResultSet.hxx#141
so will be automatically destroyed.

About instruction with setStmtOption, it may help but am not sure.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112852] Should unapplying Bold remove the attribute or force text to Regular?

2017-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112852

Then I chose option (a) ;-) Out of kidding, option (a) is not a bad option
either and I am open to it if it makes it easier to understand. It's a sign
that it may be easier for other users too.

However, at risk of sounding too verbose, I think a clarification is in order:

My suggestion is [so far] strictly about *the application / un-application of
default formatting* because it clearly breaks the user expectation as currently
implemented. It has [so far] nothing to do with changing styles. Changing a
style is just the easiest way to expose the broken behavior. Another way is
through the paintbrush as DF plays a role on how it works:

1. New document.
2. Type "Plain" and hit Enter.
3. Type "ForcedRegular" and hit Enter.
4. Type "Heading 1", and hit Ctrl+1.
5. Hit Ctrl+B twice on "ForcedRegular"
6. Place cursor between "a" and "i" in "Plain". Hit Paintbrush. Hit the "a" in
"Heading". Nothing happens at all.
7. Place the cursor between "r" and "c" in "ForcedRegular". Hit Paintbrush. Hit
the "a" in "Heading". The word "Heading" turns regular.

This manifests in issues #112872. Some users think this inconsistent, some
think the Paintbrush does not properly work. I think it works but it has an
inconvenient algorithm. Please note: my suggestion won't fix the paintbrush, in
fact, my suggestion may even make the the paintbrush feel even more broken but
it will clear one of the most invisible variables that occur when editing
documents to give a more consistent UX. The paintbrush tool itself is broken
(hint: it should replace all formatting on the target, not just add DF, with
the formatting of the source, including styles, but that's another story).

Also, think what happens when a user saves a document and sends it to somebody
else for modification. Invisible Direct Formatting can be all over the
document, with Writer being prone to be perceived as plain broken.

With this clarification, I understand your question as a proposal to *extend my
suggestion* in order to make it as congruent / compatible as possible with
other work flows in the program. I choose option (b) just because I can [so
far] only affirm brokenness about DF. This does not invalidate my suggestion,
only the proposed extensions, so we are back to my suggestion as originally
suggested:

When applying Direct Formatting, attributes that end up matching the underlying
styles [1] should be unset.

[1] By styles I mean the resulting style after calculating the style hierarchy.

However, I am also open to accept your proposed extension to apply this logic
when changing styles too. Your scenario sounds much more likely to occur by
mistake (as in "Oops, I applied the wrong style let's reapply the correct one")
but if this makes a user lose its DF, the user will always have Ctrl+Z, which
is much more well known and understood.

CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.19; UI render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: group

The Windows 10 Photo Viewer app outputs odd data types to the Windows
clipboard.

Its Bitmap format (CF_BITMAP) is the only Clipboard format (CF) that
LibreOffice currently recognizes, and seems because its Bitmap format is
missing the actual content of the bitmap (CF_DIB) it errors on special paste.

Same images opened in Windows 10 MS Paint, or IrfanView provide useful CF
(bitmap, meta, or even Paints native).

So this require new development to identify the Photos application as an image
source, and maybe to parse its format (CF_HDOP).

I apologize for the mistakes you pointed me out. You're right, this is a fairly
new bug but very often I have problems because recalc does not trigger on
loading. If something goes wrong with editing (and strange things could happens
also with older versions, believe me) when I open a document I cannot be 100%
sure that formulas are calculated correctly. So I don't trust LibreOffice Calc
anymore from this point of view. It's a pity!

Hi Gabor,

The corruption issue is fixed now. I don't experience endless loop. It's not
clear when it comes up for you. Do you save XLSX, then open it again in Calc
and save it again in XLSX? or what the actual steps? Anyway, this endless loop
might be related to the same issue my commit fixed, so please test again and if
still experience an issue, add some more specific reproducer steps.

Thanks,

It seems it's allowed to have the same member name in a pivot

Please don't modify issue fields unless you understand their meaning. That
requires at least trying to read their names carefully (e.g., the Version field
has "earliest affected" clarification right below for a reason).

You couldn't have this same bug for years, because it was introduced in 5.3,
which was released in the beginning of this year. Yes, it is rather important,
but it doesn't qualify for critical - the importance categories have the
project's established meanings, not necessarily what natural language implies.

I raise the importance, though, because this is a regression.

So Word and Calligra show it somewhat similar, while Writer and TextMaker show
it the same.

Here is the xml from the first image in attachment 136830.

So LO is using the svg:width and svg:height values from frame id0, but not
taking values from draw:style-name a0 like draw:auto-grow-width="true"
draw:auto-grow-height="true". @Regina: what's your take?

This is a VERY ANNOYING bug. I suggest to change importance to critical. I see
this same bug in every update for years.
This HUGE BUG becomes more relevant because if you save a document in native
ods format with inconsistent values in some cells, as described in the
procedure, recalc does not trigger on loading.

So the odt was created with word 2013 and LO is displaying the fallback image
(/ObjectReplacements/Object 213) of the ole object (/Object 213), just like
word 2007 and 2010, so there isnt much that LO can do about this if it cant
render the OLE object itself.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112977] New: Different Terms for Same Styles in Menu and Sidebar

2017-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112977

Bug ID: 112977
Summary: Different Terms for Same Styles in Menu and Sidebar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de

In Writer for the following styles different terms are used in the menu Styles:
(1) Paragraph style “Default Style”, menu: “Default Paragraph”
(2) Character style “Default Style”, menu: “Default Character”
(3) List style “List 1”, menu: “Bullet List”
(4) List style “Numbering 1”, menu: “Number List”
(5) List style “Numbering 4”, menu: “Roman List”

This was confusing for me. I think the same terms should be used in order to
avoid a confusion.

A problem exists, if the same terms are used in different style categories, in
this case “Default Style”. This also may occur if a user adds additional styles
to the menu with the customize dialogue. E. g. the style term “Numbering 1” is
used for paragraph and also for list styles. In order to distinguish these
styles the style category could be put in brackets after the style name in the
menu, e. g. “Default Style (paragraph)” or “Numbering 1 (list)”. Another
solution may be to create sub-menus for each style category in the Style menu.

Sorry, I forgot to add myself to CC, so can't see the discussion. I tested the
test document again on master today and I also get the repair dialog when
opening the saved XLSX in Excel. I'll check what the issue there, must be a
recent regression.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108709] cli_ assemblies are not correctly versioned

2017-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108709

I have just checked 5.4.1.2/5.4.2.2. and compared to 5.4.0.3 using .NET
Reflector 6

cli_basetypes was versioned (from 5.4.0 to 5.4.1)
cli_cppuhelper was NOT versioned; what is worse is that, beginning with 5.4 it
stopped having a version (Reflector shows 0.0.0.0)
cli_oootypes was versioned (from 5.4.0 to 5.4.1)
cli_ure was versioned (from 5.4.0 to 5.4.1)
cli_ was versioned (from 5.4.0 to 5.4.1)

So overall it looks good. I guess the script Michael used wasn't able to
increase a non existing version number. Fix this and this bug is dead!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48722] Add Realistic [soft-edge/fuzzy/Gaussian-blur] Shadows for Objects

2017-10-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48722

Everytime I open LibreOffice...
- 'ah, it's so ugly'. wait a few seconds. 'I must continue, it is good for
humanity'.
- then maybe at some point I need a table. And I try to style it. I only find
Autoformat. As if it wouldn't be the hundreth time, I still can't believe I
can't style the table.
- and then it's the shadow. I want to 'Impress'. I insert a picture. 'Bam,
let's give it a shadow!'. I add the shadow and I cry.
This time I came here to let the world know.

I believe in LibreOffice, I'm maybe fanatic about it. And I wait for the good
days when it will actually look good and have a set of tools that produce
beauty.

I'm OK for ctrl+enter, it is convenient with the mouse behavior.

Best regards.

tdf#112288 Clarify Reschedule implementations
Application::Reschedule(true) must just process all currently
pending events and ignore all new events generated while processing
them. In contrast to Scheduler::ProcessEventsToIdle, this way it
can't busy-lock the application with background jobs.

This way we also can drop nMaxEvents from the Windows backend. This
limit was also never implemented on OSX and for the KDE4 backend
it's actually impossible to handle single events, and a call to
QAbstractEventDispatcher::processEvents works like this.

Also changes various call sites to just process all pending events
instead of some made up number of times.
