[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 109158] slower loading of a huge AutoCorrect replacement table

bad performance affects LibO 6.2.x master too.
it still takes 23 seconds to load the list under Win8 x64 on a SSD disk.

the same list is loaded in 8 seconds with LibO 5.3.7

this performance drop affects all the 5.4.x, 6.0.x and 6.1.x branches as well

interestingly on older Win7 x64 O/S the time to load those list is lower (4
seconds with 5.3.x and 11 seconds with 5.4.x and later releases) but there's
still almost a 3x difference.

I'll try soon on a Win x10 machine and report the results.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108029] XLSX FILESAVE: The columns of the column chart disappear

2018-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108029

4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

2. Double-click the word "tenet"
3. Press Ctrl-X
4. Move cursor between "s" and dot
5. Press Ctrl-V

An example of results.

This is an example of what happened to me. I tried to change the name of a
character in my novel and it was changed in the whole document but it was kept
in blocked sections. Until I discovered this, I almost went crazy. If I had not
found by accident that the name still remained in this paragraph (and in 7
other coincidences), I could have followed a serious error at the time of
publishing.
Having the option of omitting the protection or a message that warned me that
they were not replaced X amount to be in blocked sections would have been very
helpful.

Description:
If there are blocked sections and you need to replace a term, the blocked
sections are skipped.
This is not a problem if there are few sections, but in very long files,
unlocking sections is complex and may require replacing a term in them.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Call Find and replace dialog
2. Write the terms to replace
3. Click any button
4. Terms are replaced in all sections except for protected ones.

Actual Results:
Terms are replaced in all sections except for protected ones.

Expected Results:
Activate a check box that allows replacing the terms throughout the document,
omitting if the section is protected or not.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
A warning can be displayed when activating or initiating the replacement
attempt. Maybe stop at a match inside a protected section.

ps - if you find that when you reopen the file it is still marked as needing
saving, remember that currently that file was not actually closed by the
process. To make that stop you need to either save the file for explicitly or
exit libreoffice and restart it

However, it seems the connection to the data engine is closed when the ODB file
is closed in the UI (even if the file is not released), you know that because
the table in the schema is again displayed with the ID field intact.

Depending on your language setting, you can use a comma, a period or a blank as
a thousands separator. You can also use the separator to reduce the size of the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112491] SDBC-mismatch on alter field-properties in embedded Firebird database when editing primary key

2018-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112491

How to reproduce the bug.

1 Download the attached ODB file.
2 Start Libreoffice if it is not running.
3 Open the file you downloaded in step 1
4 Go to the Tables section in the Base main window.
5 Select the table EmployeesTasks
6 Right click the mouse, on the table, and select edit.
7 When the table editor opens, select the primary key field 'ID'
8 Change the Auto Increment control from No to Yes
9 Click save changes
10 An error message informs you that the column must be dropped and added to
the end of the table. Answer yes.

What actually happens:
An error message box opens again, during the final step of the change (adding
the column to the end of the table) with a bad SQL statement. The command is
trying to use a string constant of a data type descriptor in place of the
actual data type name.
Clear the error message.
The table editor continues to show that a column ID exists, but it no longer
does in the actual Table in the schema.
Close the table editor.
You are asked if you want to save the changes, if you say yes a new error
message is displayed with the word 'GENERATED' in it - this is because Base
used the table descriptor stored in Base, not from the schema, and is trying to
alter a column that no longer exists.
Clear that and close the table editor again, this time do not save the saves
when prompted.
Open the table itself and you will see that the ID field is gone.
Close the file, but do not save it and it is ready to test all over again.

Expected results:
It works. The ID field is moved to the end of the table, type integer and Auto
Increment is true.

So here is a firebird embedded ODB for testing.

You have three tables, one view and a form.

The table EmployeesTasks will be for testing purposes here.

Tables Employees and Tasks share a dependency via the view View1 and you may
not alter any of the related fields in Employees or Tasks while that view is in
the schema.

Reopening this.

Alex Thurgood had no problem recreating it. Who cares if the error message is a
bit different, the fact remains the code is broken in every build of Base right
up to the first drop, yesterday, of the binaries for 6.2 Alpha0.

It shouldn't be up to the user to post an example for something this simple,
and obviously wrong, in fact the fact it is in the wild for so long calls the
entire QA process (and the commitment of TDF to produce a quality product) into
question.

As for the difference in error messages - if anyone had tried for real that is
really easy to understand.

With the HSQLdb engine data changes actually are written to DISC. // pause here
for a second

OK, now here is what happened. Since the system had to DROP and then ADD the
column back and since that can't be run as a single transaction the DROP column
worked, the ADD column failed.

After clearing the error message box the Table Editor is now displaying a
layout for the table that DOES NOT match the table on disc (for firebird it is
the table in memory and here that is going to come in handy).

OK - so you try to close the table editor an guess what it prompts the user to
save the table design again - if the user says yes a different error is
triggered, it is the error reported by the OP in this issue.

If the ODB used HSQLdb that is it, the table has been altered by dropping the
column and it must be added back by the user - in the case of firebird just
don't save the file and the change is discarded, along with an other changes
like data added to different tables and such (all would be lost).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60134] FORMATTING: Can't change letter-spacing of fill signs in tabs

2018-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60134

I've tested the formatting of filling dots with the newest LO 6.0.4.2 (Linux).

I can change nearly all attributes (size, bold, underline, superscript, ...),
but changing the letter-spacing option still does nothing.
The bug is still present.

GSOC 100 paper cuts update

2018-05-25 Thread Nick Thanda
Hi everyone,

I have been making progress on two bugs:

tdf#17013 - Table of Illustration doesn't take
figures
Initially, I renamed the Illustration Index to Table of Figures and for the
default category to be Figure. Now, my next step is to revert my changes to the
Illustration Index and create a new table type for figures rather than renaming
the illustration index so there would be a Illustration Index and a Table of
Figures.

You can see progress of this bug here: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/54461/

tdf#88961 - Table line styles are not
visible
see Image: https://i.imgur.com/bzlzAEB.png
[https://i.imgur.com/bzlzAEB.png]

Initially, I changed it to so the border color changes to be more visible
(Option 1) but then I thought it would be more suitable to have the border
color stay the same and the drop down box background color to change (Option 2).

You can see progress of this bug here: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/54461/

Thanks,
Nickson

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116208] Zoom factor, word counter etc. do not update in status bar ( with OpenGL)

2018-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116208

I've also run into this bug, and another effect is that if you copy and paste a
number of pages into the document, the page counter in the status bar stays at
1 of 1 regardless of what page you are on.

It will update correctly if you save, close the document, and reopen it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117809] New: doesn't update type of icon of conditional formatting " Icon set" with percent if delete minimal or maximal values from range

2018-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117809

Bug ID: 117809
Summary: doesn't update type of icon of conditional formatting
"Icon set" with percent if delete minimal or maximal
values from range
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: 79045_79...@mail.ru

Description:
doesn't update type of icon of conditional formatting "Icon set" with percent
if delete minimal or maximal values from range

Version: 6.0.3.2
Build ID: 8f48d515416608e3a835360314dac7e47fd0b821
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU.UTF-8); Calc: group

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Just open file Example from attach and go to 5, or

1. Create a conditional formatting for range A1:A20. All cells - Icon set - 3
arrows
2. Enter value for yellow arrow - 50 percent, for green arrow - 80 percent
3. Fill range A1:A20 uses any values from 0 to 100 (for simpling)
4. Note: percent for any value in cell of range is calculated as
(cell_value-minimal_value) / (maximal_value-minimal_value)
5. Delete all value 0 or all value 100.
6. Type of icon for all cells in range must be recalculate and change! Because
percent is changed! But it didn't happen!
7. Then, change value in any cell from range -> Type of icon for all cells in
range is recalculated and changed to correct!

Actual Results:
doesn't update type of icon of conditional formatting "Icon set" with percent
if delete minimal or maximal values from range

Expected Results:
type of icon changes to correct if delete minimal or maximal values from range

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86315] EDITING: Formatting of queries should be saved by base

2018-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86315

The one area that is not possible is the ability to set the column widths, or
anything to do with the grid layout on screen when you run the query and have
that saved. IIRC that is created at runtime so there is nothing to save there -
that would be a major enhancement IMO.

However all of that functionality is already supplied in a Form using a table
grid control (three clicks is all you need to generate that from a querydef)
- in the table grid control you can rearrange the column order, adjust the
column widths, hide columns or even add columns. Set any of those at design
time and it is retained.

In 'format cells' (0%), the format code is set as '0,%'

Checked this with the latest 6.1 daily build.

The sql direct flag is being stored properly and when that is set all the
formatting and commenting is retained.

I would say this works.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117411] Font metrics slightly changed after update OS to Ubuntu 18.04

2018-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117411

I am using LO-W 1:6.0.3-0ubuntu1 on Lubuntu Next 18.04, and found when opening
a previously-created document, that the pages did not line up.
Searching for LO-W bugs that referenced line-spacing, led me to this bug.
It sounded promising, and in reading the information in your site, and
following the breadcrumbs, I finally found the debian bug report:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=898116
where they reported that the bug had been:
"Fixed in version fonts-liberation/1:1.07.4-6"
The version I had was 1:1.07.4-5
So, I snagged the "cosmic" package (not yet available for "bionic")
and tried it, and it definitely solves the problem.

Thank all of you for investigating this, and helping lead me to a solution!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117795] Base crashes when selecting all controls on a Report and trying to change the font

Your using the Report Builder extension, the libreoffice folks just include by
default.

Anyway, tried a few other builds still can't reproduce it. So perhaps it is
Windows only.

An example database with the report that crashes the application when you
change fonts would be helpful.

The duplication is only temporary and will go away after waiting for a bit. I
don't think this can be bibisected as the versions that do not show the
background correctly (repeated) do show a little bit of chopping when
scrolling, but it does not stay. So the root cause is indeed out of reach for
bibisecting.

Tested on Win with 3.5.0, 4.3.0, 4.4.7.2, 5.3.0, bibisect repo 44.

I can reproduce it with 5.3.7.2 (linux opensuse).

Opening the above image with gimp, converting it to RGB (Bild -> Modus -> RGB),
insert it to the above test document again, the pdf will be fine. The same with
another image which was also a company logo in CMYK as described in comment 9.
Would be great to get this fixed.

A pivot table in a spreadsheet (typical, I presume)

Perhaps this is similar to the pivot tables used when testing? If not, I guess
it should be.

sw_redlinehide: fix SwCursorShell::GetContentAtPos() redline code

This calls SwTextFrame::GetCharRect() on the frame where the mouse
cursor is, with SwPositions that may be in a unrelated SwTextNode.

Bogus positions now triggers asserts, so let's fix it.

sw_redlinehide: hyphenation

There's a loop over nodes, calling SwTextNode::Hyphenate() each time.
Introduce a new class SwInterHyphInfoTextFrame that is used in the
SwTextFrame functions, and SwTextNode::Hyphenate() converts between
the 2 types.

Not sure if this will hyphenate a word that is split across nodes in the
model, but perhaps this is good enough in practice.

2018-05-25 Thread Manuj Vashist
Hello Everyone,

I had a slow start in my project and now after almost 2 weeks I have
improved the entry ui (dataproviderentry.ui) having next and cancel buttons
and replaced the coloring of dialogue box with greyed out next button.
Now working on data transformation dialog and looking how to make a right
click menu and join the dialogs.
Thank you.

Seems like editing the chart from the sidebar was changed.
Up to 6.0.3 was as Emil reported and from 6.0.4 to master it's not possible at
all.
Guess someone disabled it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117806] New: Support =IFERROR(1/0)

2018-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117806

Bug ID: 117806
   Summary: Support =IFERROR(1/0)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: william.de...@gmail.com

More and more in Google Sheets people use IFERROR with a single argument.
Google has a default value for the second argument of "" whereas LibreOffice
has no such default value. When people download a google document to their
computer and open it in LibreOffice the spreadsheet doesn't function properly.
LibreOffice will be able to successfully work with a higher percent of Google
Sheets documents if we make this change.

Even if you don't care about compatibility maybe you care about user
preference?
Clearly people like the default argument because otherwise they wouldn't use
it so often. The default argument is the common use-case and not having it
makes already complex formulas that much harder to understand.

Thank you.

PS: I understand ODF does not treat the second parameter as optional. I don't
see this as a compelling reason for us to not offer the user the option.
