[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146653] Font rendering for localized "Source Han Sans CN" and "Source Han Serif CN" fonts (i.e. "思源黑体 CN" and "思源宋体 CN") is showing as bold rather than normal weight
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146653 --- Comment #5 from Kevin Suo --- The impact of this bug is actually obvious, as we have set the localized font name "思源黑体 CN" as default font for zh-CN in: https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/VCL.xcu This makes the default font to be bold when new document is created, thus the user need to manually change the font of default style every time a new doc is created. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

To be sure, I created a new document by pasting a block of text into the newly launched Writer and tested for the problem. It was not apparent. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146928] New: inconsistent display of font name
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146928 Bug ID: 146928 Summary: inconsistent display of font name Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.4.0.0 alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ml.nishibori.kiyot...@gmail.com Description: Asian and CTL language users can't immediately check font name at format dialog since LibreofficeDev rev.d73602dc51aa8829fc88e5e67e2b0c4da6b8f715. You may say "It's not a bug but design." However, I think from the viewpoint of UX, it is undesirable that only users who use Asian and CTL fonts have to do such operation. The Font tab always shows Western notebook first whatever font contained in the selected text. This means that the name of Asian or CTL fonts is never seen first when the Font tab is shown even if the text has only one of such fonts. That makes Asian and CTL users confused before clicking 'Asian' or 'Complex' tab because a user will usually believe what dialog shows first reflects present state. In order to know the exact font name, an extra step, clicking 'Asian' or 'Complex' tab is required every time. That is bothering for the users. I understand why the such changes have been made, however wonder if the actual result is against "Simple for beginners", the LibreOffice on Desktop UX goal. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type a text with a Japanese font. 2. Select the Japanese text. 3. Click Format -> Charactor... (and Charactor dialog is opened.) 4. Click Font tab. Actual Results: "Western" notebook is opened and the "Family" indicates the Font name for a west European language Clicking 'Asian' tab is requiered in order to check the exact font name. Expected Results: "Asian" notebook is opened and the "Famly" indicates the Japanese Font name. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 503f10205559673185150110c2d2a2faacab1fcb CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.16; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: ja-JP (ja_JP.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: CL -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146925] New: How to use form controls by keyboard only? Description is missing
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146925 Bug ID: 146925 Summary: How to use form controls by keyboard only? Description is missing Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0.4.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Documentation Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: albrecht.muel...@astrail.de CC: olivier.hal...@libreoffice.org Depends on: 146906 The page https://help.libreoffice.org/7.2/en-US/text/shared/guide/keyboard.html?DbPAR=SHARED describes how to control LibreOffice using only the keyboard. I did not find any description that explains how to control form controls by keyboard. Here are some remarks about the missing content: LibreOffice documents (text, spreadsheet, maybe others) may contain control elements such as buttons, checkboxes etc. The author of the document may associate shortcut keys with these controls which are also associated with user interface functions. To resolve the resulting conflicts LibreOffice uses a two state focus system: a) The focus is in the document. If not defined otherwise this is the default state. This state is accessible via the shortcut Ctrl+F6. The shortcut keys go to the LibreOffice user interface. Shortcuts defined for controls in the document are disabled. No control has a decoration indicating that it has the focus. b) The focus is on the controls. In this state the shortcut keys defined for the controls in the document are active. There is one control with a visual marker that indicates that this control has the focus. There are a couple of keys (e.g. cursor keys) that allow to move the focus between different controls. The blank key triggers the execution of the action associated with the control that has the focus. It should be possible reach state b) by pressing Ctrl+F5. This does not work due to a conflict in the user interface: Ctrl+F5 is also defined to toggle the sidebar. Thus the description should take into account how bug 146906 is resolved. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146924 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu Resolution|--- |DUPLICATE Status|NEW |RESOLVED --- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote --- LibreOffice is not a PDF editor/viewer. Rather, it uses filter(s) to import PDF elements onto new ODF drawing pages. This 456 page PDF document is being filter imported to multiple Draw pages with content on each page being independently rendered to Draw objects. That filter action is inherently slow--and is not at all what a PDF viewer does. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 116373 *** -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 146924] New: FILEOPEN: LibreOffice Draw pdf import is very slow
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146924 Bug ID: 146924 Summary: FILEOPEN: LibreOffice Draw pdf import is very slow Product: LibreOffice Version: 7.0 all versions Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Draw Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: wali.tys...@airadding.com Description: This bug is a duplicate of several bugs, however, all of those are stale and did not get fixed. This issue is a mayor bug, since LibreOffice is the only tool for open source PDF editing, and this bug makes it very hard to move away from Acrobat PDF. Here, I attach a wikibook book that takes around fifteen seconds to load, which is not much, however Adobe loads it instantly. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a pdf with lots of lines and objects. 2. It takes very long to import. 3. Your computer becomes slow, and Libreoffice uses tons of RAM. Actual Results: PDF takes extremely long to load (30+ minutes) Expected Results: PDF loads instantly. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.2.5.2.0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 20(Build:2) CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.16; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb) Locale: es-ES (es_ES.UTF-8); UI: es-ES 7.2.5-4 Calc: threaded -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
