7.6 and 7.5 are both stable at the moment. 7.5 just has more bug fix point
releases.

Yes. These are the steps. I have attached the screenshots for reference.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 157447] Calc does not preserve cell padding on other undo operations

2023-10-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157447

--- Comment #2 from Murugavel  ---
Created attachment 190030
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=190030=edit
Screenshots

Default padding is 0.35 mm in my case (pic 1).
Set the padding to 2.00 mm (pic 2).
Saved the file and opened it again.
Entered a value in cell B3 and pressed CTRL-Z.
The padding is now 0.35 mm (pic 3). It may also be noticed that the height for
row 3 is reduced.

After a bit of further checking, noticed that the padding is 0.35 after
re-opening the file and even before changing any value and pressing CTRL-Z,
though the row height has not changed (pic 4).

What exact steps are you using?
I can see a case where a box is shown instead of a line, but that predates the
regression (I can reproduce in LO 7.3):
1. Open attachment 189455
2. Open frame's Properties > Type: line is shown
3. Click on "To character"
4. Click back on "As character"

Result: a box is shown instead of a line.
But this should be reported separately, if not already reported.

Can you provide an example that is not reproducible before 7.4 alpha?
As far as I can tell, the regression is fixed in both 24.2 and 7.6.

Now observe the values in the management matrix. Where did all the new "sets"

I'm not convinced 7.6 is really the stable build line, isn't it -

Version: 7.5.7.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 47eb0cf7efbacdee9b19ae25d6752381ede23126
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: sv-SE (en_GB); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

I tried what you suggested and observed that it made no change to the column
selected for amendment - in fact, >Format>Conditional>Manage when selecting any
single column now places a marquee around the column immediately to the left of
the selected range and changes that format but still produces a colour
rendition for the "wrong zeros" when they should be blank.
Additionally perhaps you could try, manually selecting the contents of column J
and right-clicking to select conditional format > change the colour of the
minimum column to something outrageous and accept it. Observe. Now use the
"undo last action button" on the toolbar. Are you getting the same "feature" as
me?
Is it worth us collaborating on identifying all the "features" now apparent
with this report as they may possibly warrant multiple reports rather than
"Conditional Formatting has some interesting features"?

Perhaps you could verify whether your amending of any column also "marquees"
the adjacent column. We may now have two "special features"

Bug ID: 157607
   Summary: PDF export never finishes / freezes: Regression
between 7.6.0.0.alpha0+
(4bcf6d9c905e7b5558ee8d9f7f616ce61eadb8f8) and
24.2.0.0.alpha0+
(5fecd865303b3f0a2eeb0b9466d2bcf23cfce068)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 24.2.0.0 alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kjambunat...@gmail.com

ODT file that fails to export to PDF on 24.2

When I export the attached `.odt' file to PDF,

- the export never finshes on LO 24.2

but succeeeds on other versions.

The exports were done in safe-mode. The attached .mp4 file shows the screen
recording. The console.log shows the error spewed by LO.

So, this is a regression between 7.6.0.0.alpha0+
(4bcf6d9c905e7b5558ee8d9f7f616ce61eadb8f8) and 24.2.0.0.alpha0+
(5fecd865303b3f0a2eeb0b9466d2bcf23cfce068)

Since PDF export is failing, I have marked this bug as major. (Since this
happens on development builds, you may not agree with my report as being
"major". I think good old bisection should catch who the culprit is)

I'm not able to reproduce on 7.6.2.1. If I right click on a word that needs to
be corrected, the word is automatically selected and the context menu pops up
with "Add to Dictionary" available as an option. See attachment.

@peter josvai, Not sure which version of LO or OS you are using. In LO, go to
Help > About LibreOffice and click on the Copy button, then paste the info as a
comment on this bug report. This will help us troubleshoot the issue. I set the
status to NEEDINFO. Please update it back to UNCONFIRMED once you respond.

Reproduced as described except for step 4. Switching Automatic from Dark to
Light keeps the page color as light, as expected.

For me, I didn't even need to change the default font. I just needed to be
within any of the pages of LibreOffice Writer, click OK, and the page color
would change. It would be good if others would confirm the steps below:

1. Go to Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Application Colors
2. Change Automatic to "Dark"
3. Click OK
4. Go to Tools > Options and expand LibreOffice Writer
5. Click on any page within LibreOffice Writer (e.g. General, View, Formatting
Aids, etc.)
6. Click OK

Dear akash96j,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)

meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

The numbers you have within column I has a bunch of 0's, so currently the
median value for the mid-range color is 0. So no matter what what you set as
the Min, it the colors won't change. If you want to see the colors change to
the way that you described in Comment 3, try changing the mid-range to
"Percent" instead.

I don't think this is a bug, so I'm going to close this ticket as NOTABUG.
However, feel free to reopen the ticket and change the status back to
UNCONFIRMED and explain the issue further. I tested this with latest stable
build, 7.6.2.1, so you might want to update if you are still having problems.

DIS-CONFIRMING! I downloaded 7.6.3 daily -- the build page says it includes
Noel's commit 375258b.

I see only a red *rectangle* around the whole text; no Baseline is shown in any
color.

(Baseline means the vertical position of the bottom of characters which have no
descender, as shown at
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseline_(typography)#/media/File:Typography_Line_Terms.svg)

--- Comment #5 from Jim Avera  ---
There was a MISTAKE in original the "Steps to Reproduce". You should type
SHIFT-Enter (not Ctrl-Enter) to insert a line-break.   Using Ctrl-Enter starts
a new paragraph, which is not the bug condition.

You can also do Insert->More Breaks->Manual Break... Line Break.

My apologies.

(P.S. I wish Calc and Writer used the same keyboard shortcut for inserting line
breaks!)

Forget about this... I had tested it wrong. You're right, it now works as the
freeline tool now, which is the expected behavior.

> I have not considered such. However, I think it is possible.

The advantage of this is that when the user draws something that is not a
single line (f.i. an arrow, or a word), then all of these lines are grouped
together.

@Buovjaga - I still see the same results (frame is only wide enough for the
first line, not the widest line) in master build downloaded today. Identical
results as with 7.5.6.2.

Would you please attach a screenshot of what you see when opening the
"frametest.odt" file? Is the frame wide enough for the "BB" line to
not wrap?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 157362] Impress: inconsistent PDF export when done from a script invoking LibO in --headless mode

2023-10-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157362

--- Comment #8 from Callegar  ---
In fact, my hypothesis is that:

- when you ask LibO to be --invisible, it considers your actual screen
features;
- when you ask it to be --headless, it uses some default features.

Among these features there is some DPI info that (incorrectly) gets used to
determine how the images should be cropped.

I have been using the following macro for a long time:

REM  *  BASIC  *

Sub SaveSlidesAsPDF(srcFile)

srcURL = ConvertToURL( srcFile )

dim oPropDoc(0) as New com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue
oPropDoc(0).Name="Hidden"
oPropDoc(0).Value=True

'msgbox(srcURL)

oDoc = StarDesktop.loadComponentFromURL( srcURL, "_blank", 0, _
  oPropDoc())

pdfFile=Left(srcFile,Len(srcFile)-4)+".pdf"
pdfURL=ConvertToURL( pdfFile )

Dim oPropPDF(3) As New com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue
oPropPDF(0).Name="ExportNotesPages"
oPropPDF(0).Value=true
oPropPDF(1).Name="ExportBookmarks"
oPropPDF(1).Value=false
oPropPDF(2).Name="EmbedStandardFonts"
oPropPDF(2).Value=true

Dim oProp(3) As New com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue
oProp(0).Name="Overwrite"
oProp(0).Value=true
oProp(1).Name="FilterName"
oProp(1).Value="impress_pdf_Export"
oProp(2).Name="FilterData"
oProp(2).Value=oPropPDF()

oDoc.storeToURL(pdfURL,oProp())

oDoc.close( True )

End Sub

Sub Shutdown()
oDoc=ThisComponent
oDoc.close(True)
StarDesktop.terminate()
End Sub

It gets invoked from a bash script as

  ${SOFFICE} ${SOFFICE_OPTIONS} \
 "$CMDPREFIX.SaveSlidesAsPDF($fullname)"

Where ${SOFFICE} is libreoffice, ${SOFFICE_OPTIONS} is either --headless or
--invisible, ${fullname} is the name of the file to export to PDF.
