It could be useful you submit your patch on gerrit and tag it as WIP ("Work

The information for GSoC is not yet updated for 2019. But you should
indeed already start. Please have a look at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/GetInvolved and the
start page https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development

Do you have already coding skills?

Do you know LibreOffice as user? Do you have already a favorite area?

Because of the upcoming holidays, reaction might be slower as usual.
Please be patient.

Hello All,

I have recently been granted the great privilege to be part of the
Commiters group on gerrit. I have notice each time I have committed a patch
a tinder box failure occurs and a message is sent saying "One of you broke
the build of LibreOffice with your commit :-( Please commit and push a fix
ASAP!"

All commits have been +1'd by Jenkins.

So before I break the build again I would very much appreciate commit

Hello, everyone!

I'm attempting to build LibreOffice on Windows for the first time. I have
meticulously followed the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/BuildingOnWindows and used
the recommended settings and paths. I use Win7 x64 system, 64-bit Cygwin
and Visual Studio 2017 Professional.

I have Sybase drivers installed in my C:\Sybase directory as a requirement
of another, independent project.

My autogen.sh command (notice that I added a switch to disable database
connectivity):
/cygdrive/c/sources/libo-core/autogen.sh
--with-external-tar=/cygdrive/c/sources/lo-externalsrc
--with-junit=/cygdrive/c/sources/junit-4.10.jar
--with-ant-home=/cygdrive/c/sources/apache-ant-1.9.5
--enable-pch --disable-ccache --disable-database-connectivity

When I call /opt/lo/bin/make gb_COLOR=1

The last few lines of my make output:

2014-04-21 Thread John Smith
Hi,

I attempted to make an implementation of easyhack bug #38841.
Basically its a shell script that fuzzes the xml files inside
libreoffice doc formats, and then feeds the fuzzed docs to
libreoffice.

Code is here: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/9114

In order to make things work: edit
fuzz-xml-files/etc/fuzz-xml-files.conf and point the vars to sensible
directories:

SRC_DIR= the top level location of your libreoffice source code
DOC_DIR= a directory containing odf odt etc files
for the other vars you may need to change '/usr/local/src/dev-tools'
to '/some/other/dir/dev-tools'

run it:
cd dev-tools/fuzz-xml-files/

./fuzz-xml-files.sh

its got some command line switches but the defaults should 'just work'
as long as the vars in the conf file point to sensible stuff.

Eagerly awaiting feedback,

John Smith

Hello,
I am a second year Btech student from DAIICT India.I am trying to hack
libre office - Impress for last few months.I have built the source and am
trying to follow the code .I was getting my hands on this bug :
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49685 .

But then it was resolved. Currently I am trying to get my hands into some
other bugs.

I am really interested in Libre Imress as i really like it and its
something on which one can implement really good ideas.

I am working on c++ for last 5 years and feel comfortable with it. I also
liked the ideas of GSOC-2014
*Rework Impress slideshow to use DrawingLayer primitives *and

*SmartArt editing in Impress*
I would like to work in that direction. Can anyone please give me some
feedback about what should I do now .

Thank You

Hello,

I am a faithful Libre user and open source user in general.  I am currently
going back to school after years in the workforce and happen to be writing a
paper on the presidential debates.  During this process I notice that the
President's name is underscored as a spelling error.  Can this be corrected?  I
mean, Romney's name does not show up as misspelled.  This is quite a misstep,
in my opinion.

Thanks for listening (hopefully),

Hi everybody.im sorry to bother to you, but i wasnt sure where to go, im a very
low level editor on wikipedia and i had created the libreoffice writer and
libreoffice calc articles, they are quite small articles and were copied from
the oo.o articles and then heavily modified, but im sure given a chance they
will improve.
there is a user 'fitoschido' who continues to try and delete these articles and
argued that they are not notable. I stated my positions and i'm quite sure that
this user is just sabre rattling and that an admin would overturn any deletion
that he would attempt but i thought i'd come to you guys just in case.
this user attempted to delete the libreoffice writer article as well, but the
article remains up due to strong support from the community, but he's trying to
delete calc this time.
libreoffice needs a presence on wikipedia and overzealous users shouldnt be
allowed to muscle us out.

please if u have any spare time write a word of support for libreoffice calc
article and libreoffice at this

Mailman 2.1.11 does not permit that. If you have more extensions,
please list them - otherwise, we can extend the list with each new
incident. Wrt. zip, as I said, no strong opinion - maybe others,

Do we need really .zip? Btw, that seems to be a negative list,
disallowing specified extensions, there are umpteen extensions Windows
regards as executable.. wouldn't it be better to have a positive list

2011-08-23 Thread Alexander Thurgood

Hi all,

After a fresh clone, I'm still seeing the following build breakage in
globlmn.hrc on Mac OSX :

svx 0 #define ITEM_FORM_CONTROL_PROPERTIES !defined _GLOBLMN_HRC 3 all
Con~trol... 20110821 20:34:29

"/Users/alex/DevHack/git/libo/workdir/unxmacxi.pro/inc/svx/globlmn.hrc",
line 1: Error: syntax error
f256: Error: !! 1 Error found!!

I seemed to recall that Caolàn indicated this had been fixed, but either
it has crept back in, or it was incomplete.

My autogen options :

./autogen.sh 'CC=ccache gcc-4.0' 'CXX=ccache g++-4.0'

Can you expand on your pain ? ;-)

Really - I think the preferred way to install on Linux is via your
vendor's package channel; quite possibly [ if our Javascript gets
cleverer ], we want to start re-directing people from our download page
away from our builds, and towards vendor builds [ if we can detect
vendor + version etc. and get them done in a synchronised way ].

And - of course; nice patches to improve the linux install / packaging
experience much appreciated. [ Actually, I think Fridrich used to have a
nice yum repo thing that was perhaps sweeter; hmm ].

HTH,

Michael [ another IET member ;-]

Hello Antoine,

Thanks for your patch. I just pushed it. Feel free to provide other
patches like this one.

BTW, you didn't mention anything, I supposed you were agreeing to
provide the patch under LGPLv3+ / MPL... is that OK?

Regards,

Covering sd/source/{filter,helper}. Someone can look if I build the patch in a
correct way? He send erros like: 'cannot spawn .git/hooks/pre-commit' when I
put the git commit -a command.

new with git.

Hi,

@Wol
thanks for your answer.

I've already configured with '--enable-binfilter'.
binfilter builds except some sub-dirs 'bf_sd', 'bf_svx' and
'bf_xmloff' (and some others) and I have changes ready in there
but not tested.

For 'extension', make simply answers 'Presenter Screen build disabled'
and things like that.

For 'ure' I have a 400k+ patch which concerns many sub-dirs and make
does not see any change in those...

Regards.

Hi all, here some nice stats. Summary, is that we lost 34,000 lines of
code since we started to code on LO...

I used SLOCCount by David A. Wheeler to
check our project size. At the time of the "fork" ie the
LIBREOFFICE_CREATE tag our clone directory was this big:

Total Physical Source Lines of Code (SLOC) = 5,671,599
Totals grouped by language:
cpp:4731322 (83.42%)
java:401786 (7.08%)
xml: 185842 (3.28%)

pascal: 103341 (1.82%)
perl: 70676 (1.25%)
sh: 15889 (0.28%)

Current Master is this big:
==

Hope you like it
