Re: [Libreoffice] Development-/Future-Builds of LibreOffice with special naming posible?
Hello, On 29/03/11 10:55, Michael Meeks wrote: The parallel install is something I know nothing about on Windows; and may involve some development work - if so, it'd be great to have help on that. There is a target ooodev and sdkoodev or so that actually could be useful. They are installed in a separate directory with different name and from the GUIDs of the product they should be independent from LibreOffice as much as LibreOffice is independent from OpenOffice.org right now. OTOH, although I was able to have a running (not crashing immediately) build on windows at a point yesterday, it is again broken today and the packaging is broken beyond imagination. But slowly getting there :) F. ___ LibreOffice mailing list LibreOffice@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice

Oh - really ? -But- I suspect it should not conflict with your system installed LibreOffice: hopefully your Linux vendor keeps that up-to-date (right?). That should leave you one build from your vendor or their update channel that is up-to-date and usable; and another that is installed for QA purposes (?). It would be usefull, if the daily build could be installed in parallel to the last stable version. That makes it easier for testing and evaluating regressions etc. True; but it is perhaps a chunk of work; then again - LibreOffice is easy to build on Linux - so, you could perhaps have a look at testing this yourself - particuarly the ooodev targets that Fridrich is talking about: cd instsetoo_native/util and poke at: makefile.mk to see them. Anyhow - thanks so much for helping out with QA - much needed for our 3.4 work :-) ATB, Michael. -- michael.me...@novell.com , Pseudo Engineer, itinerant idiot ___ LibreOffice mailing list LibreOffice@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice

[Libreoffice] Development-/Future-Builds of LibreOffice with special naming posible?
Hi all, the development of LibreOffice and its features are growing every day and week ;-) In my opinion it would be a good idea to have a special build (nightly build or something similar) with a special naming, maybe LibO-Future, so that it is posible to install that build in parallel on your PC. Such a build could help QA-People and documentation writers for example to get in touch with the new features and report bugs early. Is there something like this intended, or have I missed something that already exist?
