Welcome to the LibreOffice project. In addition to looking at the Easy
hacks you should also start looking at the ideas page and talk to potential
mentors.

If you have any additional questions feel free to ask here on the mailing
list or on our IRC channel.

Markus

Welcome to the LibreOffice project. As you already recognized the first
step for GSoC is to get your own build and work on an easy hack.
Additionally you can have a look at the project ideas list at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/GSoC/Ideas It often helps
doing an easy hack in an area close to the project idea that you want to
apply to.

If you have any more problems feel free to ask here on the mailing list or
on the #libreoffice-dev IRC channel.

Markus

Hi Jesse,

welcome to LibreOffice! Hope you enjoy the time with us. Since you made
yourself familiar with our GSoC procedure [1] there is not much left to say. In
case you need support don't hesitate to ask on the mailing list or at the IRC
channel #libreoffice-dev [2].

Cheers,
Heiko (UX mentor)

2018-02-18 Thread Jesse McKenna
Hi all,

My name is Jesse McKenna and I'm a student interested in contributing as
part of GSoC. I'm particularly interested in Calc and Base, but am happy to
help with any project that needs work.

I have my local build set up and will be looking over the list of Easy
Hacks over the next few days, but wanted to reach out and formally
introduce myself. Looking forward to interacting with you!

Hello,

I am Rishabh Kumar, a second year undergraduate at IIT Roorkee, India. I am
pursuing a degree in Applied Mathematics. I have been selected to
participate in this year's Gsoc program and my project is Review of the
sidebar and its functionality. The project aims to improve the user
interface and usability of sidebar by rearranging the existing controls and
creation of new tabs. It is based on the meta bug - 65138 and it will
include sub tasks of solving some of the high priority enhancement requests
listed in the meta bug. Looking forward to a great summer .

Gsoc student introduction

2015-05-11 Thread Anurag Kanungo
Hi,

I am Anurag Kanungo and I've been accepted at Google Summer of Code 2015 on
the project to Implement Apple Numbers Import Filter
https://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/proposal/review/student/google/gsoc2015/anuragkanungo/5709068098338816
under guidance of David Tardon and Fridrich Strba.

I would be using libetonyek library which is an import filter for Apple
Keynote.
Have done multiple re-factoring tasks in libetonyek during last month and
started collecting information about the Numbers format.

Last year I worked on Implementation of Adobe Pagemaker Import Filter
with LibreOffice in Gsoc 2014. I would be joining Carnegie Mellon
University, Pittsburgh this Fall.

Looking forward for a fruitful summer like the last one.

Regards,
Anurag Kanungo
