RE: getting started with libreoffice online

2020-11-20 Thread Marc Roos

I browsed through this manual before. What I think is a bit strange
about this manual, it quickly assumes you have some sort of cloud
connection. I also do not get why write/calc are even discussed, they
already have their own manuals.

I think this manual should start with getting libreoffice online working
without any other 3rd party connections. Just create a file and be able
to edit it. To be able to quickly test it, and see if it fits your
needs.

Up until now, I have not even been able to get a test environment
running with this docker. I edited the loolwsd.xml, enabled the
filesystem and added ip's. But just keep getting error messages.

I am not sure if you are aware, but these docker images do not even have
version tags.

I also start to wonder now what all these videos on youtube are all
about. I get the impression this is still in some alpha/beta phase, is
this correct? I am missing something in the manual about linking it to a
standarized object storage api like ceph or amazon use.

I found this link:

https://documentation.libreoffice.org/en/english-documentation/

This is version 6.3. We are working on updating to 7.0, but this may
take some time.

Can anyone point me to a manual where I can just run the libreoffice
online and edit some files on a tablet for instance?

Are these strange questions wanting to know what the rest api
documentation is?
