yeah, looks tricky but I think this is basically working as it is supposed to.
And the dialog was tweaked in the identified commit to not add extra properties
not selected by the user which stopped it making the border/spacing properties
not "match" the following paragraph.

I actually did previously answer both of these questions.

ONE: Marking the center of the page is what I was originally asking for. That
is the page proper. When designing documents, you are concerned about how the
page looks to the audience. Electronically, the page can be defined in many
ways. When printing for presentation, the idea is to use the page proper as an
instrument for conveying information. It is a sheet of paper that is the final
product. I have noticed that the margin metrics are not as accurate as they
could be when viewing the document as it is being created. I often have noticed
that the bottom margin looks far off from an equally spaced top margin. I asked
for page center to avoid any inaccuracies at print time. Margins can be
adjusted to compensate for any differences between view and print.

TWO: I am not sure what 'workflow' means in this context. Designing a document
IS workflow for me.

I can confirm the issue is still present in the most recent 7.4 alpha build.

I also attached a test .docx document with a hyperlink that demonstrates the
issue.

Apologies, my earlier description states to open a PDF file. That's obviously
not right. This happens when you start from a _document_ which you then export
into a PDF.

I use the default PDF viewer on OS x (Preview), but seeing this in other
viewers such as pdf.js as well.

Just replied to your "...1600 x 900 has been a common resolution". Adding a
large dropdown either exceed the predefined maximum width - and would be cut
off for many users - or require to remove a lot interactions. Let's say all
insert functions.

Since we want to make the Notebookbar/Tabs the default my take regarding the
classic UI is therefore WF.

Hi again Heiko,

What I wouldn't like to see is that this is rejected for the 'classic' toolbar
with a promise this is implemented in the notebook bar interface and then that
doesn't happen.

I would like to see it in both and there is a benefit for users of LibreOffice
if it is. If the display is below a certain pixel size can it simply not be
displayed? Is the interface responsive enough that this could be done? It seems
that the current 800-pixel limit is a detriment for serious changes to the
classic UI.

Possible location for the HUD?

If there is not enough horizontal space at the top of the panel in classic mode
could it be moved to the bottom of the LibreOffice Window as in the attached
screenshot?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 148967] Include a HUD inside the Standard toolbar as text field (today you can add it only as button)

> commands" instead of "search for text"?
>

Positioning the command search at the bottom (like Firefox's 'Find in page')
was suggested for bug 91874. So sure, the Find toolbar might be pressed into
service for feeding the dialog.

But then for simplicity we'd suppressed the 'Navigate by' listbox on the Find
toolbar, searching text values by default, yet keeping the Find code common for
use in the Sidebar Navigator deck.

Seems a slippery slope requiring a lot of rework.

Is this now actually the direction that TDF intend to take? I think it makes a

The HUD pop-up dialog was the result of quikee's implementation of much broader
requests for see also bug 91874, it resulted in UNO .uno:CommandPopup assigned
to the + shortcut, and menu resident as the Help -> Search Commands

The HUD style dialog--offering an input line and a non-resizable panel listing
the search results--is rudimentary but functional. With minor tweaks
needed--make it resizable and relocatable. It matches the same feature in GIMP.

The UNO can be customized onto other key bindings, or added to any menu/context
menu and works now to provide an action to launch the dialog. It was not
included in the assemblage of Notebook Bar commands, so currently can't be
added there.

No icon was assigned to the UNO, so its text "Search Commands" will appear when
added to a Toolbar or Menu.

Additional work, e.g. integrating the index of commands with os/DE search is
called for. And, it should be possible to link the dialogs search field to an
input combobox suitable for placement on toolbar or menu.

But merging this command centric search with functions already resident in the
Find, and Find & Replace toolbar/dialogs is less compelling and would require
major refactoring in both areas.

Addressing the comments of Heiko about the length of my display: the beautiful
thing of making available the HUD as a toolbar is that you can relocate it to
wherever you want it. That's just my preference for a default location.

Other points to consider:
First - width of the HUD field should have minimum resolution into
consideration, ofcourse. This was a quick mock-up to help visualize what is
being discussed.

Second - I was not aware that we wanted to make the Tabbed UI the default. I
believe that the HUD should also be visible in the Tabbed UI, but in there it's
harder to decide where to place it.

There are NO TDF plans to make the MUFFIN 'Tabbed' Notebook Bar the default.

The LibreOffice Menu - Toolbar - Dialog w/ Sidebar will remain the primary (and
supported) interface cross platform. Any divergence from that would require
development effort and native code cross platform that is not feasible, nor
justifiable.

And this has *nothing* to do with this topic. "Discussion" here is off-topic
and pointless to what is a valid enhancement request.

@Heiko, please confirm the TDF position. Stuart

Not to be dismissive of your opinion but the muffin notebook bar tabbed
interface is the best option for new users coming to LibreOffice. The 'classic'
legacy interface is becoming an increasing detriment to the adoption of
LibreOffice.

Can the heading be improved for the section where Previous Link and Next Link
appear?

"Names" is neither informative nor accurate -- but have not been able to
formulate a good alternative.

If "Previous Link" and "Next Link" will only appear with Frames, then Image and
Object will only have Name, Text Alternative, and Description. I tried,
without success, to find a label that would refer primarily to those functions.

Thanks Caolan, looks good to me.

Rizal, Andreas: Do you accept to replace the themed expander icons by what
comes from the system? At least I guess so, or is SymbolType::SPIN_DOWN some
triangle vector in the end? On other places we run into trouble with self-made
triangles in case of high resolution.

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

The Format menu has icons for most of its commands, but "Name" and
"Description" are some of the few exceptions. Meanwhile "Name" and
"Description" do have icons in the context menus, which raises the question.

Are the icons missing by intention in the menu? Or should they be included
now?
