That's done much better by Gnumeric 1.10.14, When I open reporter's sample with Gnumeric, results in the second row all have 3 decimals (what looks formally correct). When I modify A13 from 59,916 to 59,9161, the results get a tailing 1 That's also better in OOo 1.1.4, B2 shows 33939,094000, what's formally correct (I selected 6 decimals) Also OOo 3.1.1shows 33939,094 in B2 Also OOo-dev 3.2 shows 33939,094 in B2 and when I modify A13 from 59,916 to 59,9161, the results get a tailing 1 OOo 3.4 shows the same problem as LibO, C38 shows lots of decimals (35280,043999) Problem is [Reproducible] with LibreOffice Portable 3.3.3 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO330m19 (Build:301 Tag 3.3.3.1)] and with LibreOffice 3.4.3 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO340m1 (Build:302)] and with with Server installation of Master LibO-dev 3.5.0 – WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) English UI [(Build ID: 81607ad-3dca5fd-da627d2)] EXCEL Viewer will show correct result for document saved as .xls. My conclusion: I doubt that it's a classic floating point precision error, other Spreadsheet programs do not show the problem. I'm running an out of the box (DVD) Fedora 14 KDE spin and used the OpenOffice Packages from that DVD. That version still does not offer KDE 4 integration. All the file dialogs (Open, Save, Save As) do not follow the KDE 4 user interface. In LibreOffice I get an uncorrect data type error. I have created such a spreadsheet and uploaded it using Excel 2003, but I have seen this spreadsheed working on any number of newer EXCELs. I cannot see why this is not working, other than ANNEE (french for YEAR; in the french version the functions seem all to be translated) being in Libreoffice not the right data type for CONCATENER (I guess in english CONCATENATE) ... To reproduce: - open a multiple pages documents (let's say 20 pages) - go to the page 4 - change to display multiple pages horizontally instead of just one (bottom-right, second page button next to the zoom slider) - unzoom to display two pages (with the zoom slider) : the pages displayed on top or now the pages 7,8 - unzoom to display three pages : it is now around 10,11,12 In other words, the number of pages from the top remains unchanged (here, 4 lines of pages). When editing a multiple pages document, one has to go back to the page one was viewing everytime the zoom changes, which is really annoying. The proper behaviour would be to retain the focus on the page viewed (4 - 3,4 or 4,5 - 2,3,4 or 3,4,5 or 4,5,6, and back). If I disconnect from the Windows machine, LO crashes and then has to recover my files when I restart. Steps to reproduce: 1. Connect to a remote windows machine using the RDP protocol. (I have this problem when connecting from Linux using Remmina and from OS/X using CORD. 2. Start LO on the remote machine 3. without quitting LO, disconnect from the remote matchine 4. Reconnect to the remote machine. Current behavior: the LO process on the remote machine is gone. Starting LO will cause it to recover the open documents. We've noticed that with .xlsm files created with Microsoft Office 2010, if there is an embedded space in the tab name, Calc will silently discard that value. I'm attaching a file to illustrate this problem. The first row of numbers are linked to a file named test.xlsm, which you don't need to have around for testing, as office knows to use the last available value and not update the link. test.xlsm has three tabs: tab1, tab_2, and tab 3. The problem is the following: When you open 1sm_price.xls (Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 spreadsheet), a [+] buttons can be seen in the left side of the chart. When you press any of these [+] button, a section expands. The section consists of sub-sections, which also could be expanded by pressing [+]. Then all sections are collapsed, a row of 8 [+] buttons, arranged vertically, can be seen in this document. It's normal behaviour. However, when the document is opened in LibreOffice, there are 19 [+] buttons in the left side of the chart. It means, that LO displays not only buttons for expanding sections of the chart, but even the buttons for expanding sub-sections. There is another strange peculiarity that noticed: if after pressing [+] button to expand any section you press the same [+] button again to collapse the section, the document returns to it normal (for Exel or OO Calc) look. How to reproduce the bug: See the Bug 41489.pdf attachment for detailed description with screenshots. I believe that it's a bug because of the comparison with how MS Excel and OOO Calc renders this file. This bug also happens with other files containing expandable sections and [+] buttons. Document language is Russian. Nothing was changed in Calc settings. LanguageTool 1.5 is installed in addition to the default LibreOffice plugins. This is a _prior_ bug that has existed... since I've been working on spreadsheets (some 20 years, now)? Just so you understand where _I_ am coming from. 1) I base my comments on Excel 98... it has been THAT long since I have used it. I have used OpenOffice almost from the beginning. I have used LibreOffice since the first day it went public. 2) Some of my spreadsheets are 10-15 years old (or at least parts of them are). I have been using some version of the formula: A1=if(x1;;x+y); A2=1; A3=A1+A2 for that entire time. It has always worked. It worked in LO 3.3. It worked in LO 1.0. 3) I, as a user, have significant amounts of man-hours invested in my spreadsheets. When you say, Oh, that was a prior bug that we're just now getting around to fixing, you are in essence saying, Not my problem, user error. As a user, I expect thing to no be broken on the coding side (elegant or no). 4) I have been an evangelist for the OpenOffice, then LibreOffice, suite and have convinced many individual users and a few offices to convert; however, I must rethink this if correct or elegant coding approaches are going to so cavalierly going to trump users needs. 5) The toggle option does not sound like a sound approach. I suggest to allow that. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a text frame with Insert/Frame... 2. Right-click the frame and select Frame... 3. In the Borders tab, switch off the visible line at any edge of the text frame (Line arrangement). 4. Enter a Spacing to contents value for any edge that does not have a line. 5. Press OK = The entered spacing is ignored and set to zero. 6. Re-open the dialog = The respective setting is grayed out. Current behavior: For all edges that do not have a visible line, the respective Spacing to contents value is ignored and set to zero. When re-opening the Dialog, the respective edit Spacing to contents fields are grayed out. Wanted behavior: Always allow (and use) the Spacing to contents settings for all edges regardless of if they have a visible line or not. The Hyperlink dialog (Figure 268) opens. If the Hyperlink is in button form, the spreadsheet must have Design Mode on in order to edit the Hyperlink. Make your changes and click Apply. If you need to edit several hyperlinks, you can leave the Hyperlink dialog open until you have edited all of them. Be sure to click Apply after each one. When you are finished, click Close. There is no Edit-Hyperlink menu item.
