That would have nothing to do with WRITER, because Diamond Shape.svg IS a big wihte area with a small diamond in it. So everything is ok here. Assumption: I believe you expected that Diamond Shape.svg created from DRAW should only have the size of the diamond shape without white area around because you exported Selection? Looking into this first mockup attached. 1) I chose to use checkboxes so that filtering can display none, one, two or three categories. A group of radio buttons will display one category exclusively, and could make the search for an extension more difficult. 2) Either we implement an event upon changing the state of one of the checkboxes or we add a Filter button on the right to start the filtering (easier for me). What would be the prefered approach? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 36555] Cannot View Tables of Connected Access Database files
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36555 Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu changed: What|Removed |Added CC||lio...@mamane.lu --- Comment #28 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu 2011-11-20 03:21:22 PST --- There are two layers where this can go wrong: 1) No or non-functional ADO-SDBC driver 2) No Jet-OLE DB provider (driver) ADO is an object wrapper around OLE DB, and Jet is the DB engine behind MS Access mdb files. From the error message that people get, my guess is that their LibreOffice does not have the ADO-SDBC driver, and this needs to be fixed. In other words, the problem is point 1. Could people having this problem please: 1) check for a file named *ado*.dll or something similar in their LibreOffice installation (whether the ADO-SDBC driver is there). 2) check whether they can access any _other_ database through ADO in LibreOffice. See http://www.carlprothman.net/Default.aspx?tabid=87 for examples. This would establish that LibreOffice - ADO works and that the problem is MS Access/mdb-specific. 3) If you have basic Perl scripting skills, see http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=117713 for an example script for how to connect to a MS Access mdb file through ADO/OLE DB. Does that work? This would establish that the ADO - OLE DB - Jet - mdb works and that the problem is LibreOffice-specific. Now, about point 2: Note at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms811968: The Microsoft Jet OLE DB Provider and (...) were removed from MDAC 2.6. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/271908 contains instructions on how to install the Jet OLE DB provider on MS Windows 2003 and earlier. On the other hand, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/239114 suggests that Windows Vista and 2008 already have Jet preinstalled, and presumably the Jet OLE DB provider with it. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43104] New: [UI]Warning Message for merging cells with contents should reflect application's behaviour more accurately
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43104 Bug #: 43104 Summary: [UI]Warning Message for merging cells with contents should reflect application's behaviour more accurately Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO Master Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: camille.mou...@aful.org Created attachment 53700 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=53700 Patch for the proposed new message Calc's behaviour when merging several cells with contents is quite different from other applications, and not obvious to guess. In other applications, like gnumeric or Google spreadsheet, the contents of the cell resulting of the merge is the contents of the first cell, while the contents of the others is deleted. When you un-merge the cell, the first cell has its original contents while all the others are empty. In Calc, you can choose to merge the cells' contents or to use the contents of the first cell and hide the other contents. With the first choice, unmerging the cell gives you a first cell with the merged content and the other cells that are empty ; with the second choice, you get all your cells with their initial contents. Whether Calc's behaviour should be changed is a tough question that won't be discussed here. The point raised in this bug report is that the warning message issued for this action (Should the contents of the hidden cells be moved into the first cell?) is quite confusing for the user and technically inaccurate. I propose the following phrasing instead: Also merge the contents of the cells ? (if not, only the content of the first cell will be shown, the rest will be hidden) As I'm no native English speaker, the wording may be sub-optimal, but it was chosen with the following points in mind : - Underline the fact that the cells will be merged anyway, but that the question is about *content* merging (hence Also). - Allow to keep the same type of dialogue (Yes/No/Cancel). This should allow a simple correction of STR_MERGE_NOTEMPTY in /core/sc/source/ui/src/globstr.src -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

This text is correct, but it applies to LibreOffice also. In general this text refers to OpenOffice more than is should as it could deliver the same information referring to LibreOffice. (In reply to comment #28) Could people having this problem please: 2) check whether they can access any _other_ database through ADO in LibreOffice. See http://www.carlprothman.net/Default.aspx?tabid=87 for examples. This would establish that LibreOffice - ADO works and that the problem is MS Access/mdb-specific. It seems to be indeed the whole of ADO-LibreOffice that is broken. I can access MySQL through ODBC through ADO with OpenOffice 3.2 (with *very* partial feature support), but not with LibreOffice 3.4.4. (In reply to comment #29) I can also see the file adolo.dll in 3.5 : C:\Program Files (x86)\LibO-dev 3.5\program However, in 3.4, I see adomi.dll : C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 3.4\program The question is : why are the names different ? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43061] INSERT DRAW generated SVG Does Not have WRITER Page Dimensions
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43061 --- Comment #3 from rk...@yahoo.com 2011-11-20 07:41:32 PST --- Created attachment 53709 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=53709 Example of Default DRAW and WRITER Dimensions @Rainer Bielefeld Thank you for your desire for clarification. An example PNG image is attached called, DRAW SVG Picture in WRITER Dimensions.png. Please note that the diamond shape, in this case, is not relevant to the potential problem; any shape or image(s) will be affected. If you look at the attached image, you will see that the png shows small greenish squares (handle bars) that depict the dimension of the view box which contains the diamond shape or other shapes as desired. An ORANGE colored ellipse depicts the lower boundary of the default dimensions of the view box area as supplied by DRAW. The RED colored rectangle shows an approximation of the default page dimensions within WRITER. The potential problems occur when the default DRAW view box size is inserted into the default page size of WRITER. The inserted image does not fit so the view box must be re-sized within WRITER, and as discussed in various BUGs (like Bug 43063, Bug 43065, and others) the inserted image would be distorted to fill the page. This is particularly problematic when using SVG because in LibreOffice the SVG will, among other things, be longer than desired when made to fit. If a user tries to maintain the inserted image dimensions then the view box will expand beyond the page dimension, so other problems arise--like cropping. In essence, this BUG asks if the default DRAW dimensions are arbitrary? If the dimensions used are arbitrary then please make DRAW's default dimensions match WRITER's default page dimensions. Therefore images can easily fit into LibreOffice and be used in a variety of ways including but not limited to Landscape and Portrait pages without distorting the desired images. In addition, resizing the images can maintain the default page dimensions in scale. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Install German Help package 1. f1 2. 'Find' - Search Term openoffice - find 3. click on 'Allgemein` and pull down to 'ODF-Formatversion'. This text should be adapted better to LibreOffice. In general this text refers to OpenOffice more than is should as it could deliver the same information referring to LibreOffice. The exact text at least should be amended to LibO. It should read 'LibreOffice enthält in allen Versionen neue Funktionen, welche den Gebrauch des OpenDocument-Formats (ODF) Version 1.2 voraussetzen. LibreOffice, aber auch die vorherigen Versionen von OpenOffice.org 2 und StarOffice 8 unterstützten die Dateiformate ODF 1.0/1.1.
