 I have been reporting this two months ago and to be quite honest I was
 beginning to think that nobody is interested in this. Yes,
 it isn't a very important bug, but still, someone could have taken at least a
 look at it and posted a message, that it is at least being recognised. At
 least
 that's what I always did for my customers.
Sorry for it takes so long. Today revisiting all bugreports (several thousands)
takes several month.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46071] EDITING: Math formula editor frezees after upgrading to 3.5 - PLEASE HELP

2012-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46071

--- Comment #3 from Andy silva...@katamail.com 2012-02-16 01:50:39 PST ---
I was fortunate enough to find a kind folk who submitted the following macro
which worked perfeclty, making math formula editor work again without losing all
customization of LO.
Of course, I am left wondering what on earth could induce this in the upgrade
from 3.4.5.to 3.5 and whether there are other people out there who
experienced the same... of course many people has never touched the formula
editor, so they might not even know.

If anyone has the same problem, start your office, execute the following macro
to remove the configuration and then restart your office.
This macro removes window position of math equation editor on Writer document
to make its position default.

Code: Select all   Expand view
Sub RemoveMathEquationWindowSettings
  p = CreateUnoStruct(com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue)
  p.Name = nodepath
  p.Value = /org.openoffice.Office.Views/Windows
  cp = CreateUnoService(com.sun.star.configuration.ConfigurationProvider)
  ca = cp.createInstanceWithArguments(_
com.sun.star.configuration.ConfigurationUpdateAccess, Array(p))
  name = 30378
  If ca.hasByName(name) Then
ca.removeByName(name)
ca.commitChanges()
  End If
End Sub

bug Remains reproducible in 3.3.4 but almost not reproducible in 3.6.0 master
(I have enabled Direct cursor, parts of this cursor remains)
What about bug Editing: table disabling intended for consuming CPU while
working with huge document. IMHO disabling interactivity of table will consume
even
more CPU time.

SUM() function behave differently than Sum operator.

1) write in cellA1=1
2) write in cellA2=2

3) write in cellA3=SUM(A1:A2), got results 3
4) write in cellA4=A1+A2, got results 3

5) modify cellA1 to '-', '/', ' ' or '\' (not a number)
in cellA3 the value become 2 as expected
in cellA4 the value become #VALUE!

Note: with OpenOffice 3.3.0 the value in cellA4 become 2 as expected,
this generate an incompatibility to existent .ods electronic sheet,
as #VALUE! propagate to next formulas

When typing a formula, math symbols + - = etc. are typed in Wingdings font.

Trying to change fonts in math editor do not solve this problem.

Correspondingly, Wingdings Font is also used by default for bullets in text
editor.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46160] New: Unacceptable lag when editing spreadsheet cells in Windows XP

2012-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46160

 Bug #: 46160
   Summary: Unacceptable lag when editing spreadsheet cells in
Windows XP
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: fox_vuc...@trashmail.net

After upgrading from version 3.4.5 to version 3.5.0rc3, I'm experiencing a
significant time lag (2 to 3 seconds) when editing cells in a regularly used
spreadsheet (with around 2500 rows and around 9 columns, but no calculations -
it's just a list, but with various formatting applied to many of the cells).

After opening, there is no lag when clicking in the 1st cell to be edited, only
with the second and subsequent cells.

I wouldn't describe the laptop involved as fast, however this lag never
occurred in version 3.4.5. Defragmenting the hard drive made no difference.
Other
operations (saving, sorting, etc), seem unaffected.

Dear Rainer:

Thankyou for your initial investigation of the bug I reported in December. I
decided I would attempt to show the bug in action on a freshly-created
spreadsheet; however, I was unable to do this, despite three different
approaches. I returned to one of my original spreadsheets, to confirm to
myself that
the problem still existed; and it does (for that spreadsheet). I'm reluctant
to attach the spreadsheet, as it contains personal data, which could still exist
within the ODS file after anonymisation. I will persist with this and post
something at a later date. In the meantime, here is the environment information
you requested:

(1) meaningful summary: Moving sheets in a workbook containing several sheets
- e.g. sheet AAA, sheet BBB and sheet CCC, with sheet CCC brought to the front,
so the order becomes CCC, AAA, BBB. The chart for sheet CCC moves with the
sheet; but the charts for sheets AAA and BBB *remain in their original sheet
position. The effect of this is that the new first sheet (CCC) contains two
charts: its 'proper' chart plus the chart showing data from sheet AAA; the new
second sheet (AAA) contains the chart for sheet BBB; and the new third sheet
(CCC) contains no chart.

(2) attach sample document: I will do this at a later date, as explained above.

(3) attach screenshot: ditto

(4) step-by-step instruction: ditto

(5) sample document created from scratch: ditto (possibly)

(6) PC information: Shuttle XS35GT purchased new in December 2010 and equipped
with one Crucial 2Gb DDR PC25300 memory module and one 500Gb Western Digital
Scorpio 2.5 SATA 5400rpm hard disk; also an external DVD-R drive and a Samsung
ML-1660 laser printer

(7) OS information: (Linux) OpenSUSE 11.4 kernel 2.6.37.6-0.11-default

(8) LibO information: LibreOffice 3.4.2 OOO340m1 (Build:1206)

(9) LibO settings: language = English(UK); currency = GBP; dictionary =
standard; measurement unit = centimetre; default font = Liberation Sans 10pt

(10) LibO launch  document creation: launch LibreOffice Calc from LXDE menu;
create new document; save as new file

(11) miscellaneous information: I installed OpenSUSE on my PC in early November
2011, to replace Ubuntu, which I had fallen out of love with; this was a frseh
destructive install, but the spreadsheet had been created by this time (with a
single sheet), using Ubuntu 11.04 (which I upgraded soon after to 11.10).

Hope this is helpful.

Bob Bevan-Jones

I have no such option for changing any PS/PDF setting for my Cannon PIXMA 870

either. I think they're all PS by default. But this workaround sounds
suspicious to me anyway.

I believe General Shortcut Keys in LibreOffice - Using Shortcut Keys to

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46165] New: getDataArray fails in LO 3.4.4, 3.4.5, 3.5.0

2012-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46165

 Bug #: 46165
   Summary: getDataArray fails in LO 3.4.4, 3.4.5, 3.5.0
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: r0pol...@gmail.com

Created attachment 57152
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=57152
C# source code

Calling method getDataArray fails in LibreOffice 3.4.4, 3.4.5, 3.5.0
but succeeds in LibreOffice 3.3.3, 3.4.1, 3.4.2, 3.4.3.

I am using this C# code:
---
Type tServiceManager = Type.GetTypeFromProgID(com.sun.star.ServiceManager,
true);
object servicemanager = System.Activator.CreateInstance(tServiceManager);
object desktop = servicemanager.GetType().InvokeMember(createinstance,
BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, servicemanager, new object[] {
com.sun.star.frame.Desktop });
object doc = desktop.GetType().InvokeMember(getCurrentComponent,
BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, desktop, new object[] { });
object sheets = doc.GetType().InvokeMember(getSheets,
BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, doc, new object[] { });
object sheet = sheets.GetType().InvokeMember(getByIndex,
BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, sheets, new object[] { 0 });
object crange = sheet.GetType().InvokeMember(getCellRangeByPosition,
BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, sheet, new object[] { 0, 0, 1, 1 });
object cursor = sheet.GetType().InvokeMember(createCursorByRange,
BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, sheet, new object[] { crange });
object data = cursor.GetType().InvokeMember(getDataArray,
BindingFlags.InvokeMethod, null, cursor, new object[] { });
---

The last call (getDataArray) fails in 3.4.4 and newer.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open LibreOffice Calc; new workbook is created
2) Write something in cells of first sheet or leave it empty - it does
   not matter
3) Leave this workbook open in Calc - but it does not matter if it is
   saved or not
4) Run the C# code (or attached Lo344dataread.exe) - it tries to read
   cells (0;0)..(1;1) od first sheet of active workbook
5) See the result: 3.4.4 and newer raises exception; 3.4.3 and older
   succeeds

Attaching Lo344dataread.exe and complete C# source zip.

IMO the whole MSFilterTracer thing can/should go if you want to have a

 Its all out of date, it was an effort to sort of log what MSWord
 features we *didn't* import/export got used in documents in order to
 target what we'd implement next but I know I found it more of an effort
 to log the details of what we didn't implement than actually implement
 them :-)

Sounds like a good candidate for expunging from the codebase.

Still an issue with LibO 3.5 on Linux.

Type a correct word, then type some other stuff, then go back to the correct
word and type some random letters in the middle of it, then click on another
word,
and it usually doesn't flag the mistake.

How can such an important feature as spellchecking be ignored for so long?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44395] TABLE: Content of Non-Displayed Tables can be Edited, Remains of Different UI Elements are Left in Non-Displayed Tables

2012-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #2 from harald-koes...@htp-tel.de 2012-02-16 06:06:40 PST ---
I checked the bug again with 3.4.5 and 3.5.0. With 3.5.0 I could not produce
any remains. From my view the problem remains is solved in 3.5.0.

There is a difference between the grey boxes with the different versions: In
3.4.5. the grey box has got an outer border in the colour of the table
borders.
In 3.5.0. the grey box hasn't got any borders. With 3.4.5, if the table does
not have any borders, the problem with remains does not appear.

Editing of the grey box is still possible with 3.5.0, both with normal cursor
and with direct cursor. Both cursors are visible during editing. Tips relating
the non-displayed table are also displayed if you move with mouse pointer over
the table! So from my view, this problem is not solved.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44300] : ibus not working without LANG

PST ---
Well, ibus is working fine for me (for Japanese input). I'm on openSUSE 12.1.
Using the distro-provided libreoffice 3.4.4. I don't set LANG manually, but
system sets LANG to en_US.UTF-8.

Perhaps it's a distro-specific, or maybe DE-specific (I use GNOME 3).

It's the space required for uncompressing the temporary installation files.
A little less than 500 MB for LibO 3.5.0.

With the NSIS, it used to ask where to decompress the files. But now with the
MSI, it just decompresses them on the system drive during the install.

It also works fine with my stock development build. So it's not due to some

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46168] New: EDITING: Field type, date, change format

2012-02-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46168

 Bug #: 46168
   Summary: EDITING: Field type, date, change format
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Database
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: j.f.dej...@gmail.com

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Edit table
2. Select field type DATE
3. Change format to -MM-DD (ISO 8601)
4. Save Table
5. Exit Table
6. Exit and save database
7. Reopen database

Current behavior:
The format of the DATE field changed back to the original setting. Number -
general.

Expected behavior:
The format of the DATE field is -MM-DD (ISO 8601)

Found workaround:
After step 5, immediately reopen the table and click all the changed DATE
fields once. After that, I seem to be able to save and close the database
without
losing my field formats. But this doesn't feel very reliable.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:10.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.1

and

Ubuntu 11.10

I use the same database on both platforms.

in Tools-Options Libreoffice-Appearance we can change these settings. And
create own themes. By default there only one theme LibreOffice. Users can
create
their own themes. For example High contrast.
Alas, there is no functionality to save theme to file and load from file.

I have set the status of this bug to resolved, even if not 100% of your various

Sorry, if this is an duplicate but I don´t found the bug on LibreOffice bug
tracker. There is no possibility to define a user defined chart/diagram layout
(size,background, colors, x-y interval, title).

Details:
- no custom presets available
- also the the Format Paintbrush button doesn´t work with charts
- record changes as Macro doesn´t work while editing the diagram

I don´t see any workaround for this issue (like an extension) but it´s still
there since 2003.(tested with LO 3.5)

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org

It is very strange behaviour, which can be easily reproduced. Copy any cell or
cells in spreadsheet, put mouse cursor into other cell and in paste menu select
Unformatted text. After pasting try to push undo button. All other operations
except paste as unformatted text can be undone.

In LibreOffice 3.3.4 undo can be done for all operations, including paste as
unformatted text.

It seems to be quite serious regression because in leads to loss of data in
case of accidental use of this operation.

The bug can be reproduced on Ubuntu 11.10

  node oor:name=0 oor:op=replace
prop oor:name=HistoryItemRef oor:op=fuse
  value xsi:nil=true/
/prop
  /node

If I rename registrymodifications.xcu, Recent Documents starts working with LO
3.5.0 now including the file name in the order list (the first item element
above stays the same):

item
oor:path=/org.openoffice.Office.Histories/Histories/org.openoffice.Office.Histories:HistoryInfo['PickList']/OrderList
  node oor:name=0 oor:op=replace
prop oor:name=HistoryItemRef oor:op=fuse
  valuefile:///C:/Users/lstringer/Documents/Testing.odt/value
/prop
  /node
/item

With the first format in place the Recent Documents list never gets updated. If
you remove these items from registrymodifications.xcu (or convert them to the
new format) then the list starts working.
