[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47299] New: CALC: Escalating when re-calculating a huge number of crosslinked cell functions (EDITING, FILEOPEN, FILESAVE)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47299 Bug #: 47299 Summary: CALC: Escalating when re-calculating a huge number of crosslinked cell functions (EDITING, FILEOPEN, FILESAVE) Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release Platform: x86 (IA32) OS/Version: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: medium Component: Spreadsheet AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: klauspeter.schm...@gmx.de Created attachment 58421 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=58421 Zip archive with 4 files for the decribed testing scenario In the case a CALC document consists of a huge number of cells which contain sheetwise cross-linked cell functions, LibO's runtime seems to escalate and leads to extremely slow performance and/or freezing/blocking of the GUI for many seconds or minutes. The effect concerns LOADING DOC, RECALCULATING on cell change event and SAVING DOC. It looks in such a way, as if at any time ALL cells are computed instead of recalculating/refreshing only the changed and depending cells. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47303] New: FORMATTING: Behaviour of Options Basic Fonts (Western) is not transparent
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47303 Bug #: 47303 Summary: FORMATTING: Behaviour of Options Basic Fonts (Western) is not transparent Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Status Whiteboard: BSA Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: harald-koes...@htp-tel.de Problem description: In order to illustrate the problem some steps (Only the basic font Default is considered here, other basic fonts behave equal): [1] Start LibreOffice and open a new text document (Doc1). [2] Tools Options... LibreOffice Writer Basic Fonts (Western) Click Default in order to start with the same initial situation. [3] Choose another Default basic font (Font1), then OK. [4] Open another new text document (Doc2), then open Options dialog again. Font1 is displayed as Default basic font. [5] Choose another Default basic font (Font2), then OK. [6] Change back to Doc1 and display options again. Font1 is displayed as Default basic font. I expected Font2, hence in step [5] the font has been changed to Font2. Go on either with [7a] or [7b] [7a] Click Cancel. [8a] Open a third new text document (Doc3). Guess which font is now the basic font! It's Font2, though one step before Font1 is displayed as current basic font. [End] [7b] Click OK. [8b] Open a third new text document (Doc3). Now Font1 is displayed as basic font. Then OK. [9b] Change to Doc2. The basic font is Font2 although Font1 is displayed as current font in step [8b]. First I was rather confused and it took me a long time to understand this behaviour. I am still not sure if I understand everything correctly: (a) Always if you change to or open an existing document the fonts of the basic paragraph styles (Default, Heading,...) of this document are displayed. (b) If you change the font of a basic paragraph style with the Paragraph Style dialog, the changed font is afterwords also displayed in the option dialog. (c) Always if you create a new document, those fonts are used, which have been acknowledged lastly with OK. This may be a long time ago. (d) The only way to display the options is to create a new document. (e) If you change the options (with OK) the basic paragraph styles of the current document are also changed. Proposal in order to prevent the confusion: (a) Change heading of this option category to Basic fonts (Western) of new documents. (b) The basic fonts of the current document should no longer displayed in the options dialog. (c) The check box Current document only can be dropped. (d) Introduction of new tab Basic fonts (Western) in Properties dialog (Menu: File Properties...). In this new tab the basic fonts of the current document are displayed and can be changed. (e) In the options dialog a hint Viewing and changing basic fonts of current document go to: Menu: File Properties... Tab 'Basic Fonts (Western)' or similar could be useful. I did not check the behaviour with option categories Basic Fonts (Asian) and Basic Fonts (CTl). I expect an equal behaviour as described above. Problem exists also in Version 3.4.5. Hint: In bug 43786 I described a similar problem with an option, which is used as a property of a document. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46716] Some formulas are lost by DOCX import filter.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46716 --- Comment #22 from ape os...@yandex.ru 2012-03-14 06:48:40 PDT --- (In reply to comment #21) Closing this bug as too confusing. Please, open new bug as suggested at http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice/2012-March/028113.html My English and Google Translate do not allow the interpreter to explain to you one simple thing: LibreOffice can not create within the ODT-archive folder with the contents of all OLE-objects, which were placed in DOCX-file, and creates these folders only for some objects. The mechanism of passage I do not understand, any OLE-object, regardless of its type ( image or formula) may be lost. Most often, lost objects, starting with the second, if DOCX-file are located in a row, one after another. However, using DEV-LibO-3.5.2rc0 (Win-x86 @ 7-MinGW), I found a workaround: 1. Open DOCX. 2. DOCX Save as FODT. 3. FODT reload. 4. FODT save as ODT. P.S. For me the issue is cleared. What to do next - is the solution for programmers. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Nobody with any authority to do so has certified this bug as real or not, actually. But my puzzlement is perhaps due to my being used to Openoffice bug reporting process, and this works differently here. I just do not know. And it is to me unclear as well whether incoming upgrades (3.5.1) have this same problem solved or not... how can I know if it is sensible to install them?? I've moved the scrollbars to their terminal positions, and instead of just getting to the corresponding end of slide, I have the slide almost go away from the viewport. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create an empty presentation 2. Move vertical and horizontal scrollbars to terminal positions 3. See slide almost go away from viewport Expected behavior: Scrollbars shouldn't appear when the slide is fully visible in the corresponding direction, and scrolling shouldn't be possible in this case (the slide should be centered in the viewport in this direction). Also, it'd be really useful if when the slide is fully visible, mouse scrolling switched one slide up/down, like it used to be in MS PowerPoint. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47303] FORMATTING: Behaviour of Options Basic Fonts (Western) is not transparent
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47303 --- Comment #1 from harald-koes...@htp-tel.de 2012-03-14 09:54:16 PDT --- Additional Problem: If you create a new HTML document the Default basic font is used for nearly all predefined paragraph styles. The other basic fonts are not used in HTML documents. If you change this basic font 'Default' while displaying a HTML document the fonts of this document are not changed. This is different to text documents where the font is changed, when you save the options. Expected behaviour: Hence there is a separate category for HTML documents (LibreOffice Writer/Web) I expect, that the options under Basic Fonts (Western) have no influence on HTML documents. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46519 --- Comment #15 from 0ru...@gmail.com 2012-03-14 10:32:25 PDT --- First of all, for the record, I advice everyone NOT to remove those folders like I did, since I have several programs totally not working now! Andras, I fail to understand how it will use the latest versions, since in your link it states to remove áll of those folders, which of course include the latest versions. Anyway, it didn't help even with the latest ones. Next trial (without putting those folders back yet): I had 3 Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 entries in Remove programs (Redistributables I think), removed them and restarted. Still not installing. But you are talking about 2008? I hope that doesn't mean I had to remove VC80 folders and not VC90? Since your link points to a problem of VC80 and proposes to remove VC80 folders, I gathered that for a VC90 problem VC90 folders should be removed. Which ones did you remove? I think after 2 man-days working on this problem, some fix in some next version is very welcome. I am giving up. I am going to a corner now and cry. In HE layout, the Q key produces /. I defined a keyboard shortcut ALT-Q to change paragraph style. When typing in Hebrew (HE keyboard layout), pressing ALT-Q fails to change the paragraph style. Defining the same paragraph style change to keyboard shortcuts ALT-E and ALT-W works fine. For the sake of completeness, in HE layout, the W key produces ', while the E key produces a Hebrew letter. Also, it did not matter if the shortcut was defined for LibreOffice or Writer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
