(In reply to comment #0)
What's the trouble with Libre Office printing?

How can we know? May be printing of pictures has been enabled?

Reporter's version is outdated and he did not mention that the problem still
exist in 3.5, so I close this one as WONTFIX

@reporter:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
Please try current stable version 3.4.6 or 3.5.2 and feel free to reopen this
Bug if you find out that the problem still exists; for that reopened Bug we
would need more information as listed below.

May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you
believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing
list
Please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link.
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
mouse click how to reproduce your problem (due to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- concerning your PC
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version (with Build ID if it's not a public release)
and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
 (Please check printing related settings)
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
–- If you can contribute an OOo Issue that might be useful
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49205] New: EDITING: Pasting to autofiltered fields

2012-04-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49205

 Bug #: 49205
Summary: EDITING: Pasting to autofiltered fields
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: mahf...@gmail.com

Problem description:
Cannot paste into autofiltered range, because selection is not uniform.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a list of repeating numbers in one column such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3,
4.
2. Now use autofilter to filter out everything but ones.
3. Let's say you want to copy there your two lines of data from somewhere else.
But you cannot, Libreoffice says you cannot paste into multiple selections.

Expected behavior:
Being able to paste into autofiltered sheet to visible fields.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/11.0

For me it's the same:
Debian Systems with Cups and a Kyocera Printer TASKalfa 250ci
Not only in Writer but in all Components the same effekt:
I use the printer with two trays = paper boxes, one with DIN A 4 and one with
DIN A 3 (this is one of the possible standards)
If I use paper size A 3 (A 4 and tray 1 is standard) and choose tray 2 in the
printings preferences, it didn't work: the printer try to print on A 3 with
paper from tray 1 - but this didn't work, so the printer sends an error
message. And Libreoffice didn't save the tray choice.

The only possiblity is, to chance the standard to A 3 and tray 2, but then
other way (A4, tray 1) didn't work.

Attach a screenshot showing both the actual and expected behavior.

thanks for your response-i have attached two images of LibreOffice and
microsoft office, MS Office shows the right way it has to behave! in MS Office
when it is working with numbers it differentiates between numbers which are
written in English or not and depend on that gives us two right results (as we
can see in the picture) but libreoffice doesn't differentiate if numbers are in
English or not and gives us only one result which is upside down and wrong.
(Everytime when i say Persian it includes arabic and probably Hebrew too so
fixing one probably would fix all of them)

If you remove .../user/config, its original data will indeed not be recreated
upon the next soffice start (it potentially does recreate .../user/config, but
only containing a limited set of newly-written files).

If you remove .../user/config manually, you need to recreate it manually, by
copying over from presets/config in the LO installation. An alternative is to
completely remove the .../user directory, in which case LO thinks you had not
yet started it at all, and automatically copies over all of presets from the LO
installation.

May be you suffer from a.m. Bug Mouse pointer disappears instead of changing

When I move mouse pointer to the toolbar handle area at the left coming from
the right, mouse pointer will disappear at the handle area and reappear moving
further to the left as shown in you screenshot. But I can move the toolbar by
drag and drop with the invisible mouse pointer. Can you please check?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47511] PDF: Writer: exporting a document as pdf file will crash Writer.

2012-04-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47511

--- Comment #6 from codevi...@gmail.com 2012-04-27 02:11:40 PDT ---
Hi Roman,

Maybe I could help.

In those hard cases, in my professional life, and with the user's help,
I usually put some output debug information before and after potential
problematic code. This output debug information could be
in the form of some pre/post condition around the problematic code and
written into a log file
or in the form of message boxes during program running, or
whatever helps you. The better is to provide, at the beginning of
program development stage, the code of your project filled with
log-debug information to be activated launching your program for example
in debug mode but I don't know if this is the case with Writer.
Actually I don't have time to debug Writer code via visual studio or
through WinDBG or through assembler or alike,
but if you are able to do a test-release of Writer with my above
suggestions (a few infor written in the log file or messages boxes)then
I'll be available to make a test stage
for you.

Let me know. Thanks

I have spent some hours trying to reproduce this bug. According to comment #2,
I got a copy of the European Curriculume Vitae template, ODT version, and
 tried
to export it to PDF. But everything worked as expected. I tried to fill in
various valid and invalid values in the template, I intserted pictures etc.,
 but still no crash.

It is possible that I missed some minor point which makes the difference,
 e.g.,
some special formatting. But for now, the most probable possibility is just
that this bug is specific to LibreOffice running on Windows, maybe even to
Windows 7 (64 bit). I did my tests on MacOS X, and if there is some
OS-dependence within this bug, it is necessary that I could not reproduce it.
 Therefore:

 - Changing Platform to 'Windows' for now.

 - Could please someone else who uses Windows 7 try to reproduce this bug?

the bug is fixed in master:
+ we do not strip binaries in solver
+ make install does not strip binaries as well to be compatible with
   other software projects
+ make install-strip is a new target to get smaller stripped installation
(it it easier to send to others)
+ installation sets created in instsettoo_native are stripped because they

I see the messed up result in reporter's sample document with all LibO versions
back until LibreOffice 3.3.3 German UI/Locale [OOO330m19 (Build:301) tag
libreoffice-3.3.3.1] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) and OOo 3.3.3

I was not able to reproduce the problem with some few grouped objects pasted
from DRAW

@David Mawdsley:
Do you know any OOo or LibO version showing that drawing correct?
I can't get a better result by ungrouping (checked 3.3.3, 3.5.3). What's the
trick?
Is there any way to reproduce that problem with very few elements from the
scratch?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49217] New: Problem install

2012-04-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49217

 Bug #: 49217
   Summary: Problem install
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5 Daily
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: blocker
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: rw2mil...@comcast.net

When installing on a Windows7 box, the installer insists that I have already
open LibO 3.5 and promptly exits the routine. I have downloaded a second copy
of the installer, to no avail, and I've uninstalled version 3.4.
I was able to install LibO 3.5 on a WindowsXP laptop without problems.

It's the same on version 3.5.3.2. Especially it's annoying in draw. You're not
able to export drawing to image.

This is only happening to platform dependent dialogs (KDE/QT). On libreoffice
specific dialog it's working ok.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48893] Request for Transparent Application Background

--- Comment #2 from Patrick Gillespie vtp...@myfairpoint.net 2012-04-27

Hi bfoman, what you describe is something entirely different. What I'm
suggesting is an option to see a transparent Application Background. In other
words, the document and toolbars (whichever) would still be visible (unlike
with the Win7 transparency button). If the *application background* were
transparent, I could maximize Libre Office and, as I wrote before, have (in
effect) something like focus writer. (I use Linux, by the way.)

Original Excel-created Spreadsheet with Frozen Top Row

Simple spreadsheet created with Excel -- has top row frozen. The pane XML from
sheet1.xml is:

  pane ySplit=1 topLeftCell=A2 activePane=bottomLeft state=frozen/

Opened with LibreOffice 3.5.2.2, freeze is there. Did no edits, just Save As
with new filename, closed, and reopened with LO, freeze is gone. Pane XML from
LO-saved sheet1.xml is:

  pane activePane=bottomLeft topLeftCell=A2 xSplit=0 ySplit=1/

Frozen attribute is gone.

To replicate with attachment (frozen.xlsx):

1 - Open with LO; verify top row is frozen.
2 - Save As to new filename.
3 - Close LO.
4 - Open new file with LO.

-- top row no longer frozen

Reproducible in 3.5.2 on Fedora 64 bit

About step 2: Ctrl-Click intended in Writer for selecting pictures. So it
select picture. If we change settings for links working without pressing Ctrl,
then link works.
IMHO priority of firing link should be greater than selecting picture when we
hold Ctrl.

About step 4: the same, both working when we change settings for links

About step 5: none of links works. In 3.3.4 too. And on Windows 7 too. Each
time selects frame (slightly above yellow smile)
IMHO it is another bug. Resembles this (from user point of view):
Bug 35355 - in Writer drawing object selects incorrectly

KDE 4 environement for Linux has very nice feature to collect information about
crash of any KDE program, seaching for missing *-debuginfo packages, and wizard
to fill a bug with this collectes chash information. This is very good way to
improve the quality of platform.
I think LibreOffice must to have similar way to collect crash information,
because it crash so frequently and accidentaly.

Tested to save as ODS file in MS Windows (with LibreOffice Portable 3.5.2). The
rezult is similar as with Linux:
in xlsx file LDK ir ADK santykis (Furje) sheet has no diagram,
in xls file there is empty images instead of diagrams.

I cannot figure out what I have done wrong in the creation of the template.

Note the attachments.

In the one case the crop is wrong, in the other it is OK.

If I load the Text styles from wrong document into the OK one, then the OK

(In reply to comment #18)
 Created attachment 60503 [details] [review]
diff of the fixes, updated to fix the problem Kohei mentioned

Ok, here is a new patch with the problem that Kohei mentioned fixed.

I tried it out by applying it to a slightly older version because the current
master doesn't build for me (on fedora right now).

Hello Forest,

This patch is definitely in the right direction. I can see different width of
the visible area depending on the tab count. I can still see two issues:

1) the width is still not wide enough to show all tabs (including the '+' tab)
when the window is not maximized. Especially when you set the initial sheet
number to, say, 6, only the first 5 sheet tabs are visible.

2) The patch ignores custom width set by the document. See Comment 4 for
details.

BTW, this is not a major issue, but it would be great if you could create your
patch by git format-patch, rather than git diff. See this page

http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Patch_Handling_Guideline

for general guidelines that we follow. It's not mandatory, but it would make
our job a bit easier when applying patches.

Thanks a lot! Sorry it took a little while for me to review.

Kohei

I have no idea what the problem might be.

@reporter:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
  -- concerning your PC
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version (with Build ID if it's not a public release)
and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Even if you can not provide all demanded information, every little new
information might bring the breakthrough.

May be you can test https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ for submitting
bug reports?

@ Elmar
As workaround we can also do this: rename odt file to zip, enter it, open file
styles.xml in text editor and replace fo:margin-left=1.002cm to
fo:margin-left=0.0cm. Then rename again to zip
May be some templates affected by this problem, and produced from them
documents becomes corrupted. Then fix them also.

Sorry for I have no better idea for now how to fix this
