[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51022] New: Print range lost on file save/reopen if the file contains external link

2012-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51022

 Bug #: 51022
Summary: Print range lost on file save/reopen if the file
contains external link
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: sc...@ashisuto.co.jp

Reproduced with LibreOffice 3.4.5, 3.5.4 on XP and Win 7.
It worked fine with OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 and 3.3.0.

If a Calc file contains an external link, print range at last sheet is
lost when saved and reopened. And as I stated, whether the file has 2
sheets, 3 sheets or 10 sheets, only the last sheet of the document is
affected by this bug.

It can be reproduced with a new document, and reproducible everytime.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create 2 new Calc files. (A.ods, B.ods)
2. Open A.ods and enter a data into A1 of Sheet1 and save.
3. Open B.ods and insert an external link at A1 of Sheet 1 to refer
the data entered to A.ods at step 2.
4. Enter data to the remaining sheets of B.ods so all sheets have
   print range each.
5. Save B.ods, close and reopen.
6. Print range at last sheet is lost.

If I open the file saved at the above step 5 with OO 3.2.1 and 3.3.0,
the print range is ok. And if I save the file at the above step 6, then
open it with OO, the print range isn't loaded.

Therefore LO CAN save the print range, however, CAN NOT load it when
reopened. (Overwrite the file at this point will permanently loses it.)

Also, if I set the print range again with LO, it is lost again when
reopened. But then it starts working fine if the link is removed.

Here are the work-arounds I have found so far, but I don't think these
are all that practical.

-Insert a blank sheet at the end of the document. (Hide the blank sheet
 if needed.)
-If a file has a sheet that does not need to be printed, move this sheet
to the end of the document.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51022] Print range lost on file save/reopen if the file contains external link

2012-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51022

--- Comment #1 from HD sc...@ashisuto.co.jp 2012-06-13 00:03:37 PDT ---
Another case to point out.

Use Excel to create an xls file with the same steps as comment 1.
But this time, insert the link to Sheet 2.(Make sure Sheet1 has just some
plain texts w/o any links) And save it while all sheets are set to normal
view, open with LO and save as ods. Reopen the ods and LO does not lose
the print range.

If the xls is saved by using Excel while any of the sheets are in page
preview mode, then the bug is reproduced.

Also, if the link is set to the first sheet of the xls, the bug is reproduced
regardless the view mode.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51023] New: EDITING: Drag and drop Slide sorting broken on Mac OS X

2012-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51023

 Bug #: 51023
Summary: EDITING: Drag and drop Slide sorting broken on Mac OS
X
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: lum...@gmail.com

Problem description:
Sorting slides in either
* slide sorter
* left panel
is broken in versions 3.5.x (still present in 3.5.4 release) and 3.6 beta 1

Tested under OS X 10.7 with existing and new presentations.

Trying to drag and drop a slide always results in the moved slide being the
first slide of the presentation.
This is happening in Slide sorter view as well as in the slide panel in normal
view / slide editing.

Workaround:
One has to use cut and paste to change ordering of Slides.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a new presentation
2. Create a few slides
3. Go to slide sorter / view
4. Try to move a slide to a different position using mouse drag and drop.

Current behavior:
Always results in the moved slide being slide inserted at the beginning of the
presentation.

Expected behavior:
Place the slide, where I dropped it. Show preview while dragging the slide
where it would be positioned, would I drop it at this moment.

There's also something else: after the user profile is deleted, LO will crash
once more (presumably while it's trying to create a new one). Nevertheless the
user profile is created and LO works normally on the second launch. This is
fully replicable. With every single user on our network I had to come through
the same routine: LO doesn't start delete user profile start LO wait a
few seconds for a crash start LO again works fine.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43777] : Database list box failure

2012-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43777

--- Comment #5 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de 2012-06-13 02:48:06 PDT ---
Hello George,

I opened the attached New Database.odb.
First: There is no list box, but a combo-box. In a combobox you can enter new
values.
Second: Could be I do not understand what you mean: I change the item with the
mouse. The changed value appears in the box. Go forward and back to the same
row. The changed value has been saved to the table. Chould change it very often
- there is only the one item I had choosen in the box above. This is the normal
behaviour of a combo-box.
I have tested it under Linux-rpm32 with LO 3.3.4 and LO 3.5.4, not under Mac
with 3.4.4 as you reported the bug.

A little hint for crating attachments. Your New Database.odb has about 1.43
MB. When I rund at Extras → SQL the command SHUTDOWN COMPACT it has 13.2 KB.
Thee ara much data inside which are not used.

Hello,
There is a line on the first page of the first letter
Salzburg, den 27. Dezember 2011 (which is the place and date of the letter).
This - as well as the blue separation line between the text of the letter and
the footing within the first page of each letter - is missing on the second
letter. The same happens for any serial letters that might be printed after the
second one.

Wow - this is a nasty; marking confirmed with two users. As sasha says - a
callgrind trace might help - we'd need debuginfo packages installing though for
it to be useful.

Also - we fixed a number of similar / related issues around interactive
word-count that are specific to certain document types. Caolan fixed a number
of these in more recent versions.

Is there any chance you can test the 3.6 beta1 for example, or a much more
recent 3.5.4 ?

Thanks !

From attachment 62953, this looks like ExtensionManager::getAllExtensions
(desktop/source/deployment/manager/dp_extensionmanager.cxx) catching and
rethrowing an exception (and that is not handled up the call stack; any of
DeploymentException, CommandFailedException, CommandAbortedException,
IllegalArgumentException, RuntimeException).

Maybe a problem with one of the extensions that are installed---do you have any
extensions installed as shared ones in your scenario?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51036] New: Prompts to install Java when cutting and pasting on computer without Java installed

2012-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51036

 Bug #: 51036
Summary: Prompts to install Java when cutting and pasting on
computer without Java installed
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: wrl...@gmail.com

I recently installed LibreOffice 3.5 on my wife's new macbook air running Lion,
which does not have Java installed by default. Whenever she would cut and
paste, she would be prompted to install Java, for some reason I don't quite
understand. In any case, unchecking Use a java runtime environment from
options seems to have fixed the issue.

I understand there are some parts of LibreOffice which use Java. I guess it's
ok to prompt if they're being activated. I don't think that's the case here
though.

The behaviour I would expect is that a user who is just using the basics of
writer should never be asked to install software which is not necessary to the
task at hand (cutting and pasting). Not sure the best way of accomplishing that
-- maybe making use a java runtime option false if no java runtime is
installed?

 Thanks for additional testing.
 Last version is 3.5.4

Thanks. I installed LibreOffice 3.5.3.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2), which was the
lastest version in openSUSE repo I could find. It is still reproducible.

English

File type descriptions are named in language defined in regional settings
instead of OS language.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Windows 7 English with Russian regional settings.
2. Install LibO_3.5.4_Win_x86_install_multi.msi with only English UI.
3. Check the file type descriptions in HKLM\Software\Classes:
They will be named in Russian not in English.

Expected behavior:
1. There should be an option for choosing language during installation.
2. OS interface language should be suggested by default, not the one specified
in regional settings.

Platform:
Windows 7.

Created attachment 62976
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=62976
What it should look like

Look first at the 'Image_shows.pdf' to see what the uncorrupted i,age looks
like, then at 'Image collapsed.pdf' to see what happens when the uncorrupted
'.doc' file is saved then opened. The file to test is 'Image_containing.doc'

These all contain a summary of the problem, now repeated here.

Ubuntu 10.04, LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 AMD 64 version
Build ID: 165a79a-7059095-e13bb37-fef39a4-9503d18

The Figure in the example is a 2-row, 1-column table. The graphic image (a
‘.eps’ file) is inserted in the upper row. The lower row contains the caption
text.

When saved (‘Save’ or ‘Save as’) and opened the image is collapsed down to a
height of 0.41 mm. That is probably how you will see (actually fail to see) it
in the '.doc' file.

With care you can select it in the ‘.doc’ file: put the (arrow) cursor at the
very top of the table to show ‘Adjust table row’ and left click. Move cursor up
a bit to get the ‘hand’ cursor and then right click. Click on ‘Picture’ in the
menu. Set ‘Original size’ which gives ‘Width’ as 170 mm, and then set ‘Height’
to 100 mm, and ‘OK’, so the image reappears. The ‘Height’ will be corrupted
(probably to 41 mm: 100 times the previous setting?). Repeat the
‘Height’-setting, next corrupted to 77 mm. Repeat again and this time get what
it should be (100 mm).

With MS Word 2000 in WinXP the ‘.doc’ file displays and saves correctly, AND
SO IT DOES TOO IN LIBREOFFICE FOR a ‘.tif’ graphic in the top row of the table.

That seems significant but I know too little to be able to suggest where th
eproblem might be.

Hi,

File cant be attached to this case in the original form :-(
The svm file contains 2176 forms (polygons, texts ) and its size is 293 ko.

Regarding the provided stacktrace, do you have some ideas about the root cause
of coredump ?

--- Comment #25 from Daniel danielr...@hotmail.com 2012-06-13 11:16:40 PDT ---
LibreOffice should consume the media key events only in presentation mode,
right?

So why not just change the aforementioned WM_APPCOMMAND handling to:

case WM_APPCOMMAND:
if( pFrame-mbPresentation ImplHandleAppCommand( hWnd, lParam )
)
{
rDef = false;
nRet = 1;
}
break;

 [...] Enclosed is an attachment
that shows that I should be using the English(UK) dictionary.

 Created attachment 62946 [details]
 SpellCheck02.jpg

This screenshot shows that the selected text language is English (UK).

Still unanswered: Is the dictionary--for text language English (UK)--available,
and enabled (e.g.: prefixed blue 'ABC' checkmark symbol, checkmarks in Language
Settings...Available language modules)?

I'm pretty sure it is the same problem as described in bug 50552 (and
duplicates).

Status reset to UNCONFIRMED.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43777] : Database list box failure

2012-06-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43777

--- Comment #6 from George Creegan grcree...@gmx.com 2012-06-13 12:10:23 PDT
---
Robert,
Thanks again for your quick response. Sorry, I mis-characterized the
combo-box.

Just to be clear - if you select a number from the drop down list
under the title tier that number will appear in the field above.
But if you then select another from the list it will not replace the
first number but will be written on top of the first number. I will
send you two screenshots of the result after selecting several numbers
from the list. Notice screenshot2 which is a ZOOMED version of the
first. It appears that there are several overlapping boxes! Maybe
this has something to do with my problem!

But from your results, it seems my problem MUST be with LO version
3.4.4 when used on a Mac OSX 10.5.8.
If you ever have a chance to test my version of LO with a Mac using
the database I sent you, I bet the problem will show up!
Also, to be honest, I have no idea why the .odb file is so large. As
you can see there is not much data in it!
Here's the screenshots:
Thanks for any additional help you can provide.
George

Example

In line charts its not possible to use more than one format for each data
series. I often need to use separate formatting e.g., when one data series
consist of both true values (line) as well as a prognosis for the future
(dotted).

I can use separate data series for the two but then the legend doesn't show the
series as one but as two entries.

In excel its possible to individually format each slot individually.

I wonder if it's not a dup or related bug with fdo#47044. If it is, the bug may
be already fixed
Just for the test, could you try to install 3.6.0 beta1 (see
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/) ?

If it's ok, you must know that the fix has been backported to 3.5.5 which
should be released at the beginning of July (see
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/3.5#3.5.5_release).
For your information 3.6.0 should be released at the beginning of August
(http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/3.6#3.6.0_release)

This is a composite picture obtained from two screenshots of the same
slideshow. The uppert part corresponds to the version with hardware
acceleration disabled, the lower part with hardware acceleration enabled.

Problem description:
Hello,

When I use a custom animation in a slideshow (like using a zoom effect to bring
a picture in forefront), as soon as the animation starts and even after it has
finished, the fonts used in the slide become slightly fuzzy. This only appears
when I enable the hardware acceleration in the LibreOffice options.

I have noticed this behaviour both under Ubuntu 12.04 using the Unity desktop
environment and under Mint13 using the Cinnamon environment. Thus, we can not
attribute this bug to either Compiz or Clutter.

My graphic card is a Nvidia GeForce 9600M GS and I use the proprietary drivers
(currently the version 295.53).

My version of LibreOffice is currently 3.5.3.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable hardware acceleration under Tools/Options/View
2. Create a slideshow
3. Add some text and one picture in one slide. Link the picture to a custom
animation such as Entrance/Zoom/Fast speed/Start on click.
4. Play the slideshow fullscreen

Current behavior:
The fonts used for the text part of the slide become fuzzy.

Expected behavior:
The fonts should remain sharp.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Linux x86_64 Ubuntu/12.04 and Mint 13
