@reporter:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you
believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing
list
Please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link; to attach a file to this
bug report, just click on Add an attachment right on this page.
  Document should contain 4 columns: reporter's Input - reporter's result -
  Test here - Comment
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a document related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
(similar to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
-- what EXACTLY is unexpected (not simply unexpected results)
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
-- concerning your PC (video card, ...)
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version (with Build ID if it's not a public release)
and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration ...)
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

As far as I can remember, it was created from scratch with LibO (well,
actually, it would have been created originally with OpenOffice, before LibO
came out).

If the document is damaged, is there a way to check for that? (I guess I'm
thinking of something equivalent to checkdisk or fsck)

David: the cherry pick of dfe0baa281d9d4701e9b3846880334213ccb05f5 resolves
 the
problem. I made the test, it's ok.
I never tried gerrit for the moment so any idea to retrieve enough reviews
quickly to include your commit in 3.5 branch?

You can post a review request to the mailing list. IIRC there are still nearly
2 weeks till 3.5.6 rc1, so there is enough time.

OTOH, the mentioned patch just avoids a segfault on importing broken RTF file,
so it should not be applicable for OpenXML import. It probably just hides the
problem.

[Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.5.5.3. German UI/Locale [Build-ID:
7122e39-92ed229-498d286-15e43b4-d70da21] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)
and attached sample document. Saving it as .rtf still shows wubscript and
superscript, but without reduced font size.

Still [Reproducible] with parallel installation of Master LOdev
3.7.0.0.alpha0+ - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) ENGLISH UI [Build ID: 25608fb]
(tinderbox: 2008R2@20, pull time 2012-07-14 00:31:17)

This sounds very similar to Bug 36538 - FILESAVE: RTF does not apply subscript
font size reduction.
Was ok for me with LibreOffice 3.5.1.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID:
dc9775d-05ecbee-0851ad3-1586698-727bf66] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit),
so it seems that the bug reappeared

This might be a combined FILEOPEN / FILESAVE problem?
May be fix for Bug 36538 was incomplete or some kine fo fFILEOPEN fix?

With 3.5.1 saved as .rtf looked ok when I reopened the document with 3.5.1. But
bug reported here is visible for that .rtf with LibO 3.5.5 and MS Word Viewer.

When I save the sample document form 3.5.5, it will be shown with reported
problem in 3.5.5 and MS WORD viewer. But strange, opening it with 3.5.1.2 shows
subscript and superscript correctly

I just see that my main did some exception handling without involving my brain
;-)

T thought to type MM-DD (12-31) with 3.5. but actually I type DD-MM (31-12).
Although I have become really used to do so, I would prefer some ISO8601
truncated input MM-DD, and I would have no problem at all to change my typing

Since I started thinking about all this I now have problems with date typing
with 3.5.5
This really is something for ux-advise!

--- Comment #2 from Johannes Weberhofer jweberho...@weberhofer.at 2012-07-20

You example is not correct.

Until 3.5 (and all Excel versions since 4.0, Staroffice and OpenOffice
versions), the input (using the german locale) was tried to be interpreted as
as DD-MM: therefore 12-31 resulted in a string 12-31, but 31-12 resulted in
31.12.2012 (31st December of the current year).

In German language it is common to say a date is on the 31th of march or at
the 31st 3rd (normally in german ;-) ) when you are speaking about the
current year. So everything is consistent except the fact that minusses are
used to seperate the values.

Until 3.5 it didn't play any role if minuses or dots have been used for
seperation.

There were two posts on this list about bug 49287.

I can confirm this bug too.
I'm having the exact same problem on FreeBSD 9-RELEASE. After
installing LO 3.5.4.2 from ports printing to lpr isn't possible.
LO cannot find a default printer, and trying to add it by using
spadmin (as root) results in a filesystem is read-only error.

When I'm inserting several data in form's table with list-box columns, I
complete a row, and begin to insert the next row, I go in list-box, I press a
key to have again the last value I used in the row above, but libreoffice fails
to remember the last value I used in row above.
Example: I have a list box with values APPLE - ARMAD - AZUUL. In a row I select
AZUUL. I complete the row and in the next row, I press the a to have again
AZUUL. But libreoffice gives me APPLE.
In past version libreoffice remembered the last value, very useful when
inserting a lot of data.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 52298] New: TABLE: Calc table outlines cut when copied to Writer

  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium

AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: fisselspi...@trash-mail.com

Created attachment 64420

Comparisons of Calc tables in Writer as described in Steps to reproduce

Problem description: When pasted in Writer, Calc-tables with thick outer
borders are not fitted properly into the frame. The left one is half cut
(thin), the lower one wholly cut away.

To have your desired thick borders, you either have to select additional empty
cells around the table to gain (too much) space, or to double-click into the
table each time and fiddle it into the frame, which consumes less space but
more time.

This is not merely a display issue; when printing, you'll get the same -
missing or unequal (too thin) borders.

The problem was there at least since 3.4 and is persisting in the actual
3.5.5.3.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In a Calc sheet, select some cells and give them a thick outer border, for
example about 0,5 px or more.
2. Copy the table and paste it into Writer. (=Table 1)
3. Negative control: Copy the calc table again plus a row of empty cells to
each side and paste it into Writer, so that the outlined cells this time are in
a distance from the frame. (=Table 2)
4. While Table 2 has equal outer borders with a correct size, in Table 1 the
left and the lower borders are cut away.

It probably just hides the
 problem.

Thank you for the feedback David, I sent this post on dev mailing list :

Thanks for attachment with test case and explanations.
Reproduced in 3.6.beta1 on Fedora 64 bit
Not reproduced in 3.3.4 , therefore regression

Steps to reproduce:
0. Open attachment
1. Click cell with autofilter there, select Standard filter
2. Click More options button there and enable Regular expression option
3. Save document
4. File-Reload
Expected: Regular expression option remains enabled
Actually: it disabled

When I save document in 3.6.b1 with Regular expression option enabled, then
open in 3.3.4, this option remains enabled. Therefore 3.6.b1 saves this option
correctly, but can not load.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41542] FORMATTING: Text frames: Allow Spacing to contents for edges without a line

2012-07-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41542

--- Comment #4 from sasha.libreoff...@gmail.com 2012-07-20 12:51:14 PDT ---
Explanation from there:
What's the need to have spacing to content when there is no border? I you want
to have space between the text outside the frame and the text inside the frame,
then you need to adjust the Spacing values in the Wrap tab.

IMHO it sounds reasonable: no borders - no space
And we still have 3 workarounds: Wrap options, white color of borders,
paragraph options

Thing is, document is not standard A5 paper. In Microsoft Word, when you try to
print a custom page on A4 paper, it automatically centers the paper (because
the paper limiter in the printer itself is symmetrical and it HAS to print
centered). But in Ubuntu/LO3.4.5 (same in 3.5.4) it always prints the page
aligned left.

I am using Fedora17(32bit) and latest updated as on 20.07.2012. Libreoffice
version is 3.5.5.3. When i entered data in libreoffice cale for a shhet and
then while printing converted it to landscape from portrait. It failed to print
properly. I looke for solution on net and found out that by changing

fileprintpropertydevideprinter language typepdf

to

postscript(level from driver)

i was able to print correctly. This left a very bad taste with me. This is
clearly a bug and default should work.

Using LibreOffice 3.5.5.3
Version ID : 7122e39-92ed229-498d286-15e43b4-d70da21

Mac OSX 10.7.4

1) Open an ODB file that uses the native mysql connector extension from Oracle
to connect to a mysql server (mine's locally hosted on the same machine)

2) Click on the menu entry Tools Relations

What happens :
3) LO goes into beachball mode, requiring forced kill.

What should happen :
3) The relations dialog should open and allow the user to set up relations
between the tables of the database.

Attaching apple stack trace provided by Apple crash reporter.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48886] : MySQL Database Connection Failure with Base

Can confirm that socket field not present in Mysql connection wizard dialog
WITH mysql JDBC connector on LO master build :

Version 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 042686d) from yesterday

In LO 3.3.4, on Windows, with the native mysql connector extension, a dialog
field is provided to enter the socket to the running mysql process (if
necessary).

However, I CAN set up and use a mysql JDBC connector-based ODB on Mac OSX Lion
10.7.4, using mysql-connector-jdbc-5.1.18

So this works for me.

I'm having difficulty what exactly you consider to be buggy :

- the fact that the wizard for the JDBC connector connection setup has no field
in which to enter the socket information ; or

- the fact that you want to be able to browse to the location of the socket.

In the second case, a normal user wouldn't be able to see the contents of
/tmp/mysql.sock using the system navigation dialogs, because these are hidden
from the user on OSX (well SnowLeopard and Lion, at least), as would be
/usr/local/...this is a limitation imposed by the OS.

I do agree however, that the user should be able to enter the path destination
of the mysql.sock in the in wizard dialog, as is the case with native mysql
connector extension (on Windows with LO 3.3.4, at least, I haven't checked
elsewhere).

So, IMHO, both points seem to relate more to an RFE (request for enhancement),
rather than a bug, as such, since as you mentioned, you seem to be able to
enter the sock data post-wizard setup, which is a workaround.

You mention OpenOffice 3.3.0, this is the LibreOffice bug tracker.

Which version of LO are you using ?

If you are using 3.3.0 of LibreOffice, you should upgrade, that version was
pretty unstable when it came to database business.
