I am doing an easy =countif formula with thousands of cells at the same time. I
remember it was not an issue two years ago. I am not sure what LibreCalc is
doing but the Adapt Row Height is the message I receive.

To reproduce the bug:

1. Open the file
2. Copy the formula of column C
3. Paste the formula for all cases in column B
4. Go for a coffee, It will take a wile!

actually used Libre Office because I can't get the program to download! I went
here: http://www.libreoffice.org/download clicked on the link to download the
Main Installer. But I got the following error message:

Unable to download ...6.6_Win_x86-install_multi.msi from

Make sure the address is correct try again.

Can someone please provide a working download link for the Libre Office Main

Some of reporter's observations seem to be reproducible with LibreOffice
3.5.7.2 rc German UI/Locale [Build-ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b]
on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit), but I don't see any problem.

My steps:
0. Open New Writer document from LibO Start Center
1. In Menu 'Tools - Options - LibO - general' unselect
use LibO file dialogs
2. Export a document writer.pdf from Writer
3. Close Writer Document without saving
4. From Start Center Open New presentation
5. Menu 'File - Export As PDF' - Export
WIN File Dialog appears, shows file name unnamed1.pdf, Automatic File
 Name Extension is selected
6. Browse for folder where you saved writer.pdf if necessary
(For me the explorer dialog showed folder with writer.pdf)
7. Right click on writer.pdf - Rename (Name in front of dot becomes
   highlighted) - Rename to writer123.pdf
8. Click on PDF-icon in front of new writer123.pdf to confirm new file name
and to leave file name edit mode
writer123.pdf appears as suggested name in file name pane, of course,
if you now try to export a document writer123.pdf you will get a message
 that file already exists
9. type presentation into file name pane, Save
File will be exported with name presentation.pdf

That name of a clicked document appears in file name pane of file dialog is
intended.

@ Manuel Lains
unfortunately your descriptions like Try to save are much to imprecise to
find out whether a problem exists. Please describe at least as preciseas I
did.

Does libreoffice-dbg version correspond exactly to your LO version?
(apt-cache show libreoffice
apt-cache show libreoffice-dbg)
apt-get remove --purge your current version and revert back to LO version from
Ubuntu repo or your ppa, then install debug package from it.
Also, it could be interesting you rename your LO profile (see
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile).

Other questions:
- did you install any specific font?
- did you install any LO extensions?

Hello,

Added output of libreoffice-dbg version and LO version (see attached files
please). For Java version: I don't believe I have java installed on this
machine at the present time as it is a fresh install from the latest 12.10
image, running with only the updates as installed by update manager.

java -showversion
The program 'java' can be found in the following packages:
 * default-jre
 * gcj-4.6-jre-headless
 * gcj-4.7-jre-headless
 * openjdk-7-jre-headless
 * openjdk-6-jre-headless
Try: sudo apt-get install selected package

java -version

 * default-jre
 * gcj-4.6-jre-headless
 * gcj-4.7-jre-headless

 * openjdk-6-jre-headless
Try: sudo apt-get install selected package

This is a clean install of Ubuntu 12.10, with no other installations at all
except for Google Chrome Browser. No additional fonts installed. No LO
extensions installed.Version of LO in use is the one that was shipped with
install image of Ubuntu 12.10 (barring updates via update manager, if any).

If I change the grid-lines in Options LibreOffice Appearance than it does
work. This is rather confusing. Either the option in Options Calc View

Hi,
FYI: I found a better workaround prepending URL prefix file: before relative
path. So you can write
  file:../foobar.ods
instead of
  ../foobar.ods
(Googled from discussion under
http://openoffice.blogs.com/openoffice/2006/06/pasting_openoff.html)

package.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: j.strash...@rsu.edu.ru
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.2.2 release
 Component: Installation
   Product: LibreOffice

Unable to deploy MSI with error Add operation failed. Unable to extract
deployment information from the package. Run validation on the package to
ensure that package is correct (Сбой операции добавления. Невозможно извлечь
информацию о развертывании пакета. / in russian) while using Russian version
of Windows Server 2008.

Temporary solution is to unpack single MSI (msiexec /a LibreOffice.msi), find
LibO_3.6.2_Win_x86_install_multi.msi inside the dir and edit it with ORCA:
open View - Summary Information and delete all entries exept 1033,1049 in
Languages field. After that MSI file can be imported into GPO without any
errors.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54306] PDF: Export to PDF - Strange behaviour regarding filenames

2012-10-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54306

--- Comment #3 from Manuel Lains antak...@yahoo.com ---
Reiner Bielefeld,

I am sorry that my explanation was not precise enough, this is my first bug
report so please excuse me...

Your precisely explained procedure has given a hint to where the bug might lie
though. I have followed your procedure and doing that there is no error. Using
my procedure the error is still reproducible.

Our procedures are almost identical, the difference lies in your point 8:

Instead of clicking the pdf icon to confirm the file name change, I press the
Enter key to confirm the file name change. When I do that, the new filename
does not appear as suggested name in file name pane. But even so, if I click
save, I get the message that the file name exists even though it doesn't.

Off-topic, in case it is of interest, the reason I encountered this bug was the
following: Say I have a presentation 'presentation.odp' and export it to
'presentation.pdf'. When I update the presentation and want to export it again,
I will often save the old exported 'presentation.pdf' to something like
presentation_bak1.pdf, before saving the new one to presentation.pdf.

--- Comment #16 from Dhruv dhruvtan...@hotmail.com ---
No problem, thank you for all your help and guidance.
Step 1:
As suggested, installed java, but I think I installed 1.7:
java -version
java version 1.7.0_09
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea7 2.3.3) (7u9-2.3.3-0ubuntu1~12.10.1)
OpenJDK Client VM (build 23.2-b09, mixed mode, sharing)
Since last exchange of message I have also installed package ubuntu restricted
extras, which installed MS core Fonts package for core Microsoft Fonts.

Step 2:
Reset LO Profile by following steps as outlined in the wiki: Closed all
LibreOffice instances, renamed the folder with user profile (by changing, for
example, user by user-old).

Step 3:
1. Opened the document
2. Made a one line edit.
3. Saved (select Use Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 Format)
Crash still happens. Problem persists.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56457] allow (document related) locale setting for 'Insert - External Data'

--- Comment #10 from joaquin narebeest...@yahoo.com ---
Satlinker: Anyway the actual global setting Use English (USA) locale for
numbers is
- misleading, because it messes with dates
or
- just not good enough because it does not allow for the other English as
opposed to a locale with a decimal ,.

I will try to create a document with a few HTML sources to see how the html
lang= or the omission of this setting behaves without Use English (USA)
locale for numbers.

This already shows difficult. There is hardly any page out there that uses the
setting and, if so, uses en-us when using a US-date and decimal .. Non of
the bigger investment companies, only Yahoo! I guess the HTML lang= setting
is something that should not be trusted.

Xorg config

On a system with a nVidia graphics card, nouveau driver, two monitors, Impress
crashes without message as soon as a presentation is started (e.g., [F5]).
The video setup does have Xinerama disabled in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
When Xinerama is enabled, Impress does not crash.

A wild guess is that Impress performs a Xinerama specific call regardless
whether Xinerama is available.

System details: Fedora 17, x86_64, all updates as of today.
NVidia GeForce 7600 GS graphics card.
X.Org X Server 1.12.3 + nouveau driver 0.0.16.
LibreOffice 3.5.x and 3.6.x.

Note: When LibreOffice is started from the command line, it shows Xlib:
extension XINERAMA missing on display :0..

When working with macro, time to time tool Save on toolbar not becomes

But comment 13 is something different. There macro is lost. But how it lost? LO

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42899] Macro changes not saved on document Close/Save

2012-10-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42899

@Sasha:

Libre Office quietly forgets all it knew about about the edited macro. Save in
macro editor, quit editor, save document, close document. All nice and quiet.
Open the document: all changes lost; document macros are unchanged by the
edits.

It appears also on OS X 10.7.
I also informed the Duden support and gave them the link to this thread.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54306] PDF: Export to PDF - Strange behaviour regarding filenames

2012-10-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54306

--- Comment #5 from Manuel Lains antak...@yahoo.com ---
I will write down my procedure in detail to make sure there is no
misunderstanding:

My steps:
1. Start LibreOffice Impress
2. In the Presentation Wizard Window, click Create (Empty Presentation is
selected)
3. Click File-Save As
4. Enter test1.odp in the filename pane
5. Click Save.
Save the file as test.odp.
6. Click File-Export As PDF
7. Click Export
8. Click Save (The filename pane contains the text test)
9. Click File-Export As PDF
10. Click Export
11. Click the file test1.pdf, and notice the filename pane now contains the
text test1.pdf
12. Click the file again to enter file name edit mode.
13. Type in the filename test1_bak.pdf and press Enter
14. Notice the filename pane still contains the text test1.pdf
15. Click Save
16. A notice window appears: path\test1_bak.pdf already exists. Do you want
to replace it?

@Rainer: Refer to my step 14; Does the text in the filename pane still contain
the same text or does it change to reflect the new filename?

Classification: Unclassified
OS: All

Firstly, what a brilliant tool LibreOffice really is! This is the future!

I added a comment to a cell, set it to Show Comment. If I right-click on the

Steps to reproduce:
1. Add a comment to a cell
2. Select Show comment
3. Select Delete comment
4. Try to either Show or Delete the existing comment, I cannot.

No option offered in the drop-down menu.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 55992] EDITING: spell checker corrects table of contents

2012-10-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55992

If I change words in the TOC, they do not change in their original heading
line. Thus correction by spell checker need to be done twice

It would be better if the spell checker ignore TOCs and similar elements and
then correction needs to be done only once at the spot of the original header
(in case of TOC) or other reference fields.

Hope this clarified.

Yeah, I hear ya... gotta find a way to reliably reproduce this.

Got my working one back from another backup. It's vba-practice.ods. My bug
recipe made the bug when I saved a new Calc document as Microsoft .XLS, but the
bug does not bite on a document saved as Libre Office .ODS. In other words,
LibreOffice .ODS docs *can* (I think) save their own macros.

I'm in soggy New Jersey, so can pound away on this some more...

[Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.6.3.2” German UI/ German Locale [Build-ID:

I deleted a comment with checked Visible. Comment disappears from Navigator,
but callout remains. Undo restores the comment with a new callout, what can be
seen when you drag and drop the cell with comment to a new place:
- 1 Callout anchored to the comment moves with the cell

I have spreadsheets for tracking expenses that include a column for
categorizing the expense. If I sort the sheet with that column as the primary
key and select the Range contains column labels option, the column label row
gets sorted in with the rest, putting it elsewhere than at the top row.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a spreadsheet with column labels, including a date, a what column

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56590] New: FILEOPEN: Not to open conditioned-formatting-table any more

2012-10-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56590

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 56590
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILEOPEN: Not to open conditioned-formatting-table any
more
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mich...@nodoph.de
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.2.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

A very simple table for prize comparisons in which the price most favorable in
each case should be deposited green; formula: IF (C2=KKLEINSTE (C2:E2; 1)).
Then the table with LibreOffice is not to be opened any more (announcement: By
an unexpected mistake LibreOffice has fallen.), but documents to be restored
are not indicated.

So I have to open it with OpenOffice and it works.

VERIFIED as FIXED with the newest Master build for Mac OS X (Intel):

The about box of today’s master build (pull time: 2012-10-30 00:06:37)
says again
   LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: ce2690)
so we have got back an unique build identifier.

Thank you very much for fixing this!

Still reproducible with today’s master build for Mac OS X (Intel) --
LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: ce2690; pull time: 2012-10-30 00:06:37) --

Unique Build Identifier”; this means that the two bugs don’t have the same

@ Petr Mladek:

Hi Petr, you have fixed/reported the fix for bug 56247 -- “Help-About shows
‘370m0(Build:0)’ instead of Unique Build Identifier”. Now *this* bug seems
similar/related to bug 56247, and was introduced around the same time as the
latter, so it may have similar roots ...

Can you please take a look at this bug and see, if it is possible to fix it?
(Or is this not a bug at all, but intended behaviour?)

Thank you very much!

The same .odt file which showed a wrong title in older LibreOffice/LOdev
versions (see comment #4) now shows a correct window title when opened with the
newest Master (LOdev) daily build -- see attached screenshot.

Marking as WORKSFORME. I did a refresh of the data in Excel, saved it, opened
it with LibO 3.6.1.2 and I see no false values.

Please try upgrading your LibO, that version is pretty old, at least get to
3.5.7 (latest 3.5 release that was just released last week).

Regards :)

If it's still a problem please reopen as UNCONFIRMED and I'll get a second QA
member to take a look at it.

Set as NEW, enhancement request, medium.

Buttons should be consistent, also adds some functionality, many users could be
affected.

Also ProposedEasyHack as the code to do split buttons is already all over the
place.

Astron: Do you have any pointers where code could be? We can get a new dev
working on this one and maybe have it done relatively fast :)

That's an internal thing we use :) You wouldn't see it on that diagram. Just
supposed to ping the developers and what not, let them know to look at this one
as soon as possible.

Why did you mark this as NEEDINFO? I've confirmed it as NEW. In general once a
QA member has changed status, the status shouldn't be changed again unless
there is a comment explaining why :)

FDO is more for bugs with the product, not bugs with building. For these kinds
of things it's best to get on the mailing list to ask questions. Marking as
INVALID because of this.

If you need instructions on how to send mail to mailing list let me know and
I'll get those for you.

--- Comment #2 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com ---
Confirmed, footers do not look the same. Compared Microsoft Excel 2007 to LibO
3.6.1.2.

Marking as NEW and prioritizing.

Normal: Can prevent high quality work and/or require not using a major feature
(footers). Also, compatibility issues where the document will look different on
MS vs. LibO.

High: Footers relatively common, professional work requires this and with the
growth of .docx this could be a big issue for our business and academic users.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50097] Saving as .docx removes checkboxes

--- Comment #1 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com ---
Confirmed. Marking as NEW and Prioritizing

Minor: Can prevent users from using a feature under certain circumstances.
Feature is not very common and only happens when saving as a .docx. If this
problem occurs with documents saved WITHIN excel and then brought into LibO
please attach a document created in Excel and I'll test it and possibly raise
the importance.

Low: Not many users use checkboxes, coupled with the fact that most people
using LibO don't save as a .docx.

Thanks for reporting
