[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57184] New: : Sort with Header sorts the Header too
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57184 Priority: medium Bug ID: 57184 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: : Sort with Header sorts the Header too Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: jer...@cfl.rr.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.2.2 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 70147 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=70147action=edit Notice that the header line is at the end of the selected sort after the sort. Problem description: In Libreoffice Spreadsheet, when doing a Sort of a few rows and after using option Range includes Column Labels, it seems to sort the header row along with the other rows. It should be left at top of selected block. Behavior changed when I updated my Ubuntu system from 12.04 to 12.10. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select Rows to Sort including a header row. 2. Select Data/Sort 3. Select Options Tab 4. Check Range includes Column Labels 5. Select Sort Criteria Tab 6. Select Sorts Keys as required, note that they do contain the Column labels that were included because of checking Range includes Column Labels 7. Click on OK to do the sort. Current behavior: Lines are sorted correctly except that the Header Line is also sorted Expected behavior: Lines selected should be sorted, minus the header Line which should be left as the first line. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57071] UI: Freeze when resizing tabs/horizontal scrollbar on OSX
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57071 Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|NEW --- Comment #4 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de --- Thank you very much for your answer and the results! I managed to target the problem, and, as you suggested, it was indeed related to BetterTouchTool. Now we know what has triggered this problem ... Adding an exception in BetterTouchTool made the freeze went away. ... and even have a suitable workaround, thank you for that, too! I'm not sure this makes the issue resolved, though, more like a known issue. Yes, you are right: the problem is not resolved. There is some bug in the LibreOffice code which interacts with the Mac Accessibility API, and this bug gets triggered by BetterTouchTool, because it uses and activates the usage of the Mac Accessibility API. Therefore I will add this bug to our list of known problems related to the usage of the Mac Accessibility API (bug 55571). * The freeze/hang is easily REPRODUCIBLE when BetterTouchTool or RightZoom is installed, therefore I can set the Status of this bug report to NEW. Reproduced with LibreOffice 3.6.3.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel). How to reproduce: 1) Either a) Install RightZoom, activate it, and include LibreOffice in the list of applications it should work with. or b) Install BetterTouchTool and activate it. Hint: it seems that you do not need to make any special settings, just click “Yes“ when you are asked if you want to activate Window snapping (that prompt appears right at the 1st start of BetterTouchToul). 2) Start LibreOffice (used here: 3.6.3.2). 3) Create a new empty spreadsheet 4) Try to drag the divider at the bottom of the spreadsheet window between the tabs section and the horizontal scroll bar. 5) LibO freezes with ca. 100% CPU usage. I will attach the Mac OS log file created when I had to force quit LibreOffice. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

There is a little difference of symptoms: in these old versions, I have to drag the divider more than once until the freeze/hang occurs; at least, I have to drag the divider once to the right and then once back to the left, a bit into the area of the tabs, to trigger the bug. Again, the codepath taken by gcj was different at the time I reported the bug: in function fillOrderStatement of reportbuilder/java/com/sun/star/report/SDBCReportDataFactory.java: final XSingleSelectQueryComposer composer = getComposer(tools, command, commandType); if (composer != null) { // This branch is taken by OpenJDK (...) } else { // This branch is taken by gcj (...) statement = SELECT * FROM ( + command + ) (...) } So, if above patch causes gcj to take the if branch instead of the else branch, it could fix this bug. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56963] FILEOPEN, EDITING: Stability degrades with large document
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56963 Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Version|3.6.3.2 release |3.3.0 release Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #3 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de --- ( Sorry for the long delay! However, reproducing issues which make it necessary to let an application run for hours (repeatedly!) in the foreground to see if it will finally crash, or finally recover from the apparent freeze, is not what I can do by the way in gaps of my daytime occupations ;-) ) Again: thank you very much for your bug report! At least one problem with the file in question seems nearly 100% REPRODUCIBLE for me (tested with LibreOffice 3.6.3.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.8, Intel): The primary symptom is that writer suddenly becomes unresponsive. This seems to coincide with any operation that might cause a repagination of the entire document. Usually, hitting Tools|Update|Update All will provoke the issue about 90% of the time [...] Steps to reproduce: 0) Reset your LibreOffice user profile (to preclude any influence of local settings) 1) Start LibreOffice. 2) Open the file. 3) Without waiting too long, select “Tools Update Update All” from the menu bar. 4) Let LibreOffice work; it seems frozen, but I wanted to test if it would finally recover from this state. I haven’t done exact time measurements, but on my MacBook Pro 2010 with 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB RAM and SSD hard drive this will take about 45 min. - Finally, LibreOffice crashes. I will attach the log file created by Mac OS X for the crash. It is of impressive simplicity: Thread 0 crashed with EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV), and the stack trace for Thread 0 just reads: 0 libswlo.dylib 0x211b7e60 SwTxtFrm::HideAndShowObjects() + 608 1 libswlo.dylib 0x211b7e78 SwTxtFrm::HideAndShowObjects() + 632 the last line repeated 510 times This crash is already reproducible by the steps given above with LibreOffice 3.3.0, and also with every version I have tested (3.4.0, 3.5.0, 3.6.0.4). So this problem was probably inherited from OpenOffice.org. It is still present in the current daily build: LOdev 4.0.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: ed8067; pull time: 2012-11-15 03:54:19). I hope that further research will help to isolate what exactly causes so much work for LibreOffice that it finally crashes ;-) But for now: at least this apparent freeze and final crash are really almost 100% reproducible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56511] Server-side file descriptor leak per UNO connection resulting in a segmentation fault
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56511 Stephan Bergmann sberg...@redhat.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||sberg...@redhat.com --- Comment #2 from Stephan Bergmann sberg...@redhat.com --- Are you sure that the SimpleBootstrap scenario ever worked differently? What happens is that each SimpleBootstrap_cpp.run invokes an soffice process with an --accept=pipe,name=unoXXX;urp; argument, where XXX is unique for each invocation. If an soffice instance is already running in the background (which I understand it is in your scenario), the newly invoked soffice process passes its --accept argument to the pre-existing instances and quits. Now, the pre-existing soffice instance dutifully opens all the different unoXXX pipes and keeps accepting on them even after the initial client that connected on each one has gone. At least this latter part is by design. The overall (leaking) outcome can indeed be considered surprising, though. The uno executable already knows a singleaccept mode, where it accepts only a single connection on an acceptor and then terminates. Something similar would probably be wanted here, like an additional singleaccept parameter in those --accept arguments passed from SimpleBootstrap, so that those acceptors would be terminated by the pre-existing soffice instance once the original client has connected. However, using SimpleBootstrap might not be the best solution in your scenario. It is probably better to start the initial soffice with a well-known --accept name and let the clients connect to that well-known name (e.g., via com.sun.star.bridge.UnoUrlResolver). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57202] New: Calc: header/footer font size automatically changes in different spreadsheets of same file
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57202 Priority: medium Bug ID: 57202 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Calc: header/footer font size automatically changes in different spreadsheets of same file Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Mac OS X (All) Reporter: yuri_sucup...@hotmail.com Hardware: x86 (IA32) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.3.2 release Component: Libreoffice Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 70165 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=70165action=edit ODS file containing exemplification of this bug. Export it as PDF for better visualization. In Calc, I created a single ODS file containing several spreadsheets (thus several sheet tabs: Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3...). Every sheet was filled with a data table with a dozen of columns and some tens of lines, each. Those tables have different widths. I then clicked Format = Page = Sheet = Scaling mode = Fit print range(s) to width/height, and configured it to 1/100: 1 page in width, 100 pages in height. So all the tables will be resized to fit 1 page, in terms of width. I also clicked Format = Page = Header/Footer = Edit = Custom header/footer = Text Attributes = Font, and then configured the font size to 16, for both headers and footers, thus I expect all headers and footers to have the same font sizes, despite of the different tables/sheets they belong to. However, because of the different sizes of the tables (different printing areas), each table was resized to fit the width of 1 page. It's ok, this is exactly what I need. The problem is: on the headers and footers, the font size is being changed aswell! So the most shrinked tables/sheets have headers and footers with smaller font sizes (sizes below 16), and the less shrinked tables/sheets have headers and footers with bigger font sizes. This is a problem, since I expected all headers and footers to have the _same_ font size: the tables must be resized to fit the preset width (fit to 1 page), but headers and footers must not. I consider this a bug, since I set the font size to 16 but it's being resized. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57204] New: INDIRECT function changed but not documented in online HELP
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57204 Priority: medium Bug ID: 57204 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: INDIRECT function changed but not documented in online HELP Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: rh_li...@bmharding.freeserve.co.uk Hardware: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.3.2 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice The online help at http://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Spreadsheet_Functions#INDIRECT specifies the . Sheet Name separator for A1 format for example This has now changed and made some file references in INDIRECT functions cease to work (being composed of a mixture of hard-coded text strings and text from a nearby cell on the current row concatenated using the ) The INDIRECT function has now switched to something different in terms of specifying paths and sheet names to different spreadsheets, which made my old spreadsheet (from version 3.4 of LibreOffice, and before that OpenOffice and originally edited from a Microsoft Excel original) cease to work: To be clear, I'm amalgamating key figures from a number of weekly Sales spreadsheets onto a Total Sales spreadsheet. The last row, corresponding to this week (ending 18th Nov 2012) contains INDIRECT references to various figures in the file Sales WE20121118.ods in the same folder as Total Sales.ods. The previous rows once contained a set of INDIRECT functions, but have since had the referenced values (which will never change once the week is over) hard-coded using Paste Only Numbers, the Paste Special... equivalent (or in Excel, Paste Values) to limit the hundreds of separate file accesses that would otherwise be required. Each Monday I drag the handle to automatically generate the new INDIRECT lookups for the following week then copy and paste the values over the penultimate week to hard code them. I'm using a date in MMDD form to specify part of the filename in cell C464, whose contents are currently the text Sales WE20121118.ods(without the quotes) In cell D464, I use the function to link to the weekly sales file referred to: =HYPERLINK(C:\Users\Public\Documents\Test\C464.ods,C464.ods) The HYPERLINK still works as it did in v3.4, so no problem there. The problem comes in later columns where I try to pick out specific cells in the file I HYPERLINKed to. This form now works: =INDIRECT('file:///C:/Users/Public/Documents/Test/$C464.ods'#$Sheet1.$Z$5) and I've just worked out that the relative path (same directory) also works in v3.6.3.2 release: =INDIRECT('$C464.ods'#$Sheet1.$Z$5) In LibreOffice 3.4, which I previously used, this worked, but now produces a #REF! error: =INDIRECT('[$C464.ods]Sheet1'!$Z$5) So it's clear that: the square brackets [ ] around the filename must go, but the leading single quote should remain, a #$ must now precede the Sheet Name, and the '! before the cell name must be replaced by .$ I appreciate that automatically detecting this and helping the user to make changes might be a problem in INDIRECT functions because the changes are within quoted text strings or sometimes text strings generated in another cell. Nonetheless, the online HELP seems to indicate the wrong separators (or not mention that they've changed between versions) making troubleshooting somewhat difficult. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
