Did you modify the default style or highlight the text and change the font in

It happens for me when altering the style in the Format and styles window.

Indeed. Probably same root cause than bug 58068.
Not reproducible in Version 4.0.0.0.beta1+ (Build ID:
c1fa87738327413939f0355efd6cb73bc4eac88)

That said the localization is still a work in progress for LO 4.0. Will be
complete for RC1, perhaps for beta2.

Best regards. JBF

Fichier calc avec l'anomalie du lien

Bonjour

jamais.

Cordialement
Didier POUILLES

A table created on a slide in LO3.6.4 shows up formatted differently in
AO3.4.1.
This is because the predefined Table Design Styles are ordered differently in
LO3.6.4 vs. AO3.4.1.
Attached a simple one-slide .odp file and screenshots of this file opened in
LO3.6.4 and in AO3.4.1. Please note also the order of the predefined styles in
the two screenshots.
Unfortunately these predefined styles are not user editable, so this can not be
solved by setting the styles in a template.

According to your latest post, now I've followed these steps with LO 4.0.0.0
beta1:

Opened LO Writer,
Typed some text with default style (Times New Roman 12pt. in this case),
Modified the default style, set font to Lato.

Actual behaviour:
I still see regular Lato, no change in weight.

HOWEVER,

When I tried this with LO 3.6.4.3, TR localization, I can reproduce the problem
you've mentioned. Font weight changes into Light automatically.

Does anyone have any idea about this whether this is a font bug, or LO bug?

Setting status to NEW.

Turned out the issue at OpenOffice was different. After Apache took over they
had neglected to put in a 64 bit filter. I uninstalled OOo 3.4 and reinstalled
3.3 and now Windows Search can see inside my files, even the ones I created
with LibreOffice.

If anyone wants a copy of the OOo 3.3 version of the 64 bit filter files, I can
send them to you for comparison with the current LO versions and the upcoming
Beta LO versions, neither of which worked for me.

How mso complains.

Platform: SLED 11 sp2 x86_64, perhaps all
Build:recent master fbfda39d26da6747edb3a4c6d593be7e6b2b0f1

Steps
-

1. Launch Libreoffice Impress

2. Create something

3. Save it as ppt file

4. Open the ppt file in MSO2010

Problem
---

- MSO complains everytime trying to open them. Basically it will populate a
detect a problem with a file... (see screenshot) warning bar, and
automatically force to a protected view. I didn't check much of the
content quality, but obviouly some of them have got to be clutter.

I tried to convert a dozen of odp documents to ppt and none of them is
immune to this problem.

- It is also a regression against 3.6 build :(

Raise it as critical, I actually prefer to promote it as a blocker if the
problem is confirmed in other platforms (Windows, Mac?)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41228] Impossible to paste from ACD Chemsketch

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41228

I confirm this bug too. Moreover, it is possible to avoid it in two
steps, copying and pasting the picture from ChemSketch to a MicrosoftOffice
document, followed by the same procedure from MicrosoftOffice document to
LibreOffice. During the procedure, the picture keep the same possibilities as
it was copied in an Microsoft document (exemple : double click on the picture
in Libre Office automaticaly open ACD-CHemSketch and permit to directly modify
the drawn chemical formulae without erase/copy/paste step). This procedure
remains a big constraint.
This observation seems to contradict the previously described problem by Alex
Thurgood in september 2011 (I quote) :
The problem was AFAICR with the copy buffer not accepting the list of
possibilities provided by ACD, and being limited to only PNG/JPG ?
Is anyone able to fix this bug ?

a 2-page pdf, 1ar page showing wrong LO Draw bahviour, 2nd page showing correct
OO Draw behaviour

Problem description:
imported SVG objects (in this case from Inkscape portable version 0.48) are not
printed/exportet to PDF/XPS correctly after being mirrored in Draw.
Exporting to e. g. .png or .svg does not show this bug. OpenOffice Draw
(version 3.2.0) prints/exports the same drawing correctly. (LO localized to
German, should be irrelevant to the bug)

Steps to reproduce:
1. create two (or more) different shapes (e.g. rectangle and circle) in
Inkscape, position them adjacent to each other to form a non-symmetric
arrangement and group them. Select that group and copy (via clip board) into
Draw.

2. In Draw, make a few copies of that group. Select one (or several) of the
copies and mirror them verically/horizontally,
select another copy and rotate it.

3. Now try to print it. Even in print preview, you will notice that the
mirrored copies appear in their original orientation while the rotated one(s)
display(s) as in the Draw drawing.

Current behavior:
the mirroring tranformation is not reflected for imported (SVG) objects when
printing (or exporting to PDF or XPS) the Drawing. The printed image is
different from the drawing opened in LO Draw.

Expected behavior:
Printed drawing should look the same as the original in LO Draw also for
mirrored objects.

Problem description:

To my opinion not all aspects mentioned in bug 39452 are resolved. The comment
list of that bug is quite long. So I tried to disentangle this a bit with new
bug reports. This is the first of them.

In all Option dialogs exists the button “Revert”. In Versions older than 3.5.x
it was called “Back”. In bug report 39452 it has already been discussed, what
the correct function of the button “Back” or “Revert” is. There are different
possibilities:

(1) Getting Started Guide, Chapter 2 – Setting up LibreOffice, section
“Choosing options for all of LibreOffice” says: The Back button has the same
effect on all pages of the Options dialog. It resets the options to the values
that were in place when you opened LibreOffice. The German tool tip says the
same like the Getting Started Guide.

(2) The English tool tip says “Resets modified values back to the LibreOffice
default values.” I do not believe, that this is the original intention, hence
for some options an additional “Default” button exists (e. g. option dialog
“LibreOffice Writer Basic Fonts (Western)”).

(3) Only changes of the current options dialog are reverted. This is what
happens currently for the most options. May be this is intended, but nearly the
same function can be performed by clicking the Cancel button. The difference is
that with Cancel the dialog is closed, with Revert it is not closed.

(4) Other possibilities ….?

So, if there has been a coordinated original intention (what I'm not sure
about), I tend to possibility (1). Then possibility (3) would be a bug. In
order to reproduce this here the necessary steps:

[1] Start LO and open a new text document.
[2] Open option dialog: Tools Options... LibreOffice General
[3] Change an option, e. g. check “Use LibreOffice Dialogs”. Then OK. The
dialog closes.
[4] Open the same option dialog again.
[5] Click “Revert”. Displayed options don't change. Expected behaviour: Option
values should reset to values, that were in place when LO has been opened. That
means in this case: Reset of option “Use LibreOffice Dialogs”.

I checked this with some other options. The result is always the same, only
changes of the current options dialog can be reverted. So it seemed, that the
described behaviour is valid for all options.

At last a proposal for an improvement of the Revert button: It should be greyed
if there is nothing to revert.

Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release

To my opinion not all aspects mentioned in bug 39452 are resolved. The comment
list of that bug is quite long. So I tried to disentangle this a bit with new
bug reports. This is the second of them.

If you like to change an option you usually open the according options dialog,
change the option and then close the dialog with OK. But you don't really know
what happened with changed options if you change directly to another options
dialog. Is the changed option saved or not? Will it be saved with OK in the
second options dialog or not? What happened with changed options if you cancel
the second options dialog? What happened with the option if you click “Revert”?
...

I made some tests according this aspect and found out that the behaviour is not
always equal. For example do this:

(1) Start LO and open a new text document.
(2) Open option dialog: Tools Options... LibreOffice General.
(3) Check “Extended tips”.
(4) Change to option dialog “Memory”.
(5) Click Cancel.
(6) Open option dialog: Tools Options... LibreOffice General. The option
“Extended tips” is checked, that means it has been saved with step (4).

If you perform the same procedure with a Writer option the behaviour is
different:
(2) Open option dialog: Tools Options... LibreOffice Writer View.
(3) Check “Helplines While Moving”.
(4) Change to option dialog “General”.
(5) Click Cancel.
(6) Open option dialog: Tools Options... LibreOffice Writer View. In
this case the option “Helplines While Moving” is not checked. Contrary to the
first example the option has not been saved. At step (5) you have to click OK
in order to save the changed option of step (3).

To my opinion for a better transparency what happened, a user should decide
directly when he leaves an option dialog whether the changed option shall be
saved or not. This means at step (4) in the example. In order to provide this
decision a message “You changed “LibreOffice Writer – General” options. Do you
want to save your changes?” or similar has to be displayed if an option has
been changed by the user.

To my opinion not all aspects mentioned in bug 39452 are resolved. The comment

bug reports. This is the third of them.

The Revert Button in the Options dialogs does not work with some options. Do
this:

(1) Start LO and open a new text document.
(2) Open option dialog: Tools Options... LibreOffice Print
(3) Choose “Print to file” at option “Reduce print date, Settings for“.
(4) Click Revert button. “Print to file” is still chosen. Expected: “Printer”
is chosen.

Other examples for the same behaviour are the options “Language Settings – User
interface” or “LibreOffice Writer – Basic Fonts (Western) – Current document
only”. I did not check all options. According to bug report 39452 there are
some more options which behave equal.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58135] New: : No Transparency what Happened with Changed Options in Sub-Dialogs of Option Dialogs

Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

To my opinion not all aspects mentioned in bug 39452 are resolved. The comment
list of that bug is quite long. So I tried to disentangle this a bit with new
bug reports. This is the forth of them.

The function of the buttons OK, Cancel and Revert in option dialogs is not
transparent if there are sub-dialogs with additional options. Especially it is
not clear, if these buttons are also valid for the options in the sub-dialogs.

I found these sub-dialogs with additional options:
(a) LibreOffice Security Security options and warnings Options...
(b) LibreOffice Security Macro security Macro Security...
(c) LibreOffice Java Parameters...
(d) LibreOffice Class Path...
(e) LibreOffice Writer Mail Merge E-Mail Server Authentication
(f) Language Settings Writing Aids Edit...

Proposal in order to enhance transparency: Sub-dialogs with additional options
should be avoided. If necessary, existing option dialogs should be split. For
example the dialog “Security” can be split to “Security of Documents”,
“Passwords for Web Connections” and “Macro Security”.

Additional to this enhancement proposal I found the following 2 bugs related to
sub-dialogs:

[A] Sub-dialog “LibreOffice Security Options...”
(1) Open sub-dialog “Options...”.
(2) Check “When saving or sending” if unchecked. Otherwise uncheck.
(3) Click “Cancel” and open sub-dialog again. Despite clicking Cancel the
option has been saved. Expected: No change of option.

[B] Sub-dialog “LibreOffice Security Macro Security...”
(1) Open sub-dialog “Macro Security...”. Security level “High” is displayed.
Button “Reset” is not greyed.
(2) Chose tab “Trusted Sources”. Now “Reset” is greyed.
(3) Chose tab “Security Level” again. “Reset” is still greyed. It's nearly
nothing, but I would expect, that “Reset” is greyed already at step (1).
(4) Chose “Very high”. “Reset” changes to not greyed.
(5) Click “Reset”. Security level remains “Very High”. Expected: Reset to
“High”.

For me it is not clear, if the button Reset in this dialog shall have the same
function as the Revert button. If yes it should be renamed to Revert.

I did not check all sub-dialogs, so there may be similar bugs in other
sub-dialogs.

So the upstream packaging clearly needs a dep on libbonobo2-0 at least for
*.deb -- possibly also for *.rpm.

the upstream RPMs at least only have dependencies on 2 or 3 libraries;
i can only speculate why that is but it's likely
that the reason is that the packages need to be installable on _every_
weird linux distro and the package names and/or location of the files
on file system are different between different distros.

... looking at the setup_native/scripts/fake-db.spec there is this list:

 Provides: libgnomevfs-2.so.0
 Provides: libgnomevfs-2.so.0()(64bit)
 Provides: libgconf-2.so.4
 Provides: libgconf-2.so.4()(64bit)
 Provides: libfreetype.so.6
 Provides: libfreetype.so.6()(64bit)

so apparently gnomevfs is already there, probably could add the orbit thing as
well; this fake-db is used with the user-install script so that could be used
for testing the new dependencies at least for RPM (i'm asssuming DEBs have the
same dependencies as RPMs).

Problem description:

To my opinion not all aspects mentioned in bug 39452 are resolved. The comment
list of that bug is quite long. So I tried to disentangle this a bit with new
bug reports. This is the fifth of them.

The user help according the option dialogs should be checked, improved and
corrected:

(1) In the help text (F1) of the option dialogs the buttons OK, Cancel, Revert
and Default (only in few dialogs, e. g. dialog “LibreOffice Writer Basic
Fonts (Western)”) are not explained. Especially the buttons Revert and Default
need explanations, whatever the functions of these buttons are.

(2) If the option “Extended Tips” is enabled, tips are displayed if you rest
the cursor on the Revert and Default button. This tips should be checked if
they are correct and if necessary corrected. Also the translations of this tips
should be checked, e.g. currently the content of the German translation is
different to the English tip.

(3) Also the manuals should be checked if they explain the use of the buttons
Revert and Default in option dialogs correctly. E.g. the label change from Back
to Revert has not been considered yet.

In case Filippo's report is a bit too condensed:

Both Writer and MS-Word allow definition of colors for character underlines
(that is: the line, not the text itself). Text filters do not export this
property to DOC and DOCX and also do not import it from DOC/DOCX - the only
Word-compatible filter supporting underline colors currently is RTF.

Excel and PowerPoint do not support underline colors. I haven't checked if they
are specified in OOXML (which would make them exportable to these formats).

Tested with LO 3.5.4 and 4.0.0.0alpha1 (Ubuntu 12.04). AOO 3.4.1 also does not
support underline colors. So: changing platform and version.

Cordialement.

Didier POUILLES

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58141] New: VIEWING: Scrollbar freezes on fast scroll

2012-12-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58141

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58141
  Keywords: regression
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: VIEWING: Scrollbar freezes on fast scroll
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: adrianpalo...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.7.2 release

separate /4 User Profile for Master Branch.

Simply open reporter's sample document with 4.0.0.0.beta1, and you will see
most pictures (select form Navigator) only show white area instead of contents.

The problem is that these pictures can not be shown in Writer because of
unknown reasons. For tests I attached a pictures.zip with the pictures I
extracted from the document with 3.6.4.

a) All pictures with names ending with _NOT.png will not be shown correctly
when you instert them into a new blan Writer document using menu 'Insert -
Picture - Form File'

b) Works fine if you insert pictures as per 'a' into Calc or Draw

c) pictures copied from Calc or Draw to Writer become invisible in Writer.

@Carmelo
What's your operating system?
May be you want to test https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/ for
submitting bug reports? You reach that Bug Submission Assistant via LibO menu
'Help - Feedback / Bug Report'. The assistant will collect and insert such
information automatically.

Thanks for the tests. But does that mean regressions will be introduced in 4.0?
IMHO it would be better to wait for the new SVG support to be completely ready.
The current SVG support has the huge drawback of converting vectors to bitmaps,
but at least it renders pictures correctly.

All effects in Bug 58140 - VIEWING: particular .png pictures shown as empty

are identical, but with WMF from this bug the effect that the visible picture
in Calc becomes invisible in Writer can not be reproduced.

I wonder whether those pictures / objects have had that problem from the
beginning or whether it started with the integration into the Writer document
in an oder version?

This isn't a duplicate. The bug it's meant to duplicate was fixed in 3.6.4 but

That issue also talks about an ASCII filter window, which doesn't appear here

2012-12-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58144

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58144
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: incorrect font used during installation on Windows XP
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: tima...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Installation
   Product: LibreOffice

During basic install mode (msiexec /i
libreoffice-4-0~2012-12-06_02.46.58_LibO-Dev_4.0.0.0.alpha1_Win_x86_install_en-US.msi
/qb) I get boxes instead of characters in the MSI progress dialog. The log
indicated that MSI loaded Estrangelo Edessa font, which is a font for Syriac
script and does not contain latin letters.

MSI (c) (5C:E0) [15:44:14:203]: Font created. Charset: Req=1, Ret=0, Font:
Req=, Ret=Arial

MSI (c) (5C:E0) [15:44:14:203]: Font created. Charset: Req=1, Ret=1, Font:
Req=Estrangelo Edessa, Ret=Estrangelo Edessa

The bug does not occur on Windows 7, there Arial font is loaded and used. I
could not find a place in out installer where we could modify Arial to
something else. Changing Arial to Tahoma in TextStyle table had no effect.

The bug may be related to database codepage.
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=0475a7904978566dfb9f6e83497392b3841c0efc
In this commit I set the codepage for all database tables uniformly to UTF-8. I
would not like to revert it, if it is possible.

--- Comment #1 from Tor Lillqvist tlillqv...@suse.com ---
It's just in the uninstallation progress bar window that the boxes show up,
right? (At least, that's what I think I saw myself.) And that window doesn't
request any complex input or action from the user, it has only a Cancel
button (which *does* show the correct text).

I don't think it's that serious then, just a minor irritation. I don't think we
should revert any useful changes to get it fixed...
