--- Comment #3 from Cédric Bosdonnat cedric.bosdonnat@free.fr ---
The same freeze could be observed in the template properties dialog and was
fixed by
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=cc9329c52c8327f0d8b52162755959bac9364265

This is now fixed in master and libreoffice-4-0 branches... though the old
template manager has also died in the mean time in this branches.

--- Comment #14 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de ---
(In reply to comment #13)
OK! I can now reproduce this bug consistently!

Thank you for the steps to reproduce!

Just a hint: still not reproducible on Mac OS X with LibreOffice 3.6.4.3 (Build
ID: 2ef5aff), not with the steps given in comment #13. So a Windows-only bug.

Can someone else please test Adam’s steps on Windows?

Yes I agree that the bold formatting is lost.

Other formatting problems:
* Columns D L (they should look like column S). These are both columns
which have conditional formatting where the normal formatting (when no
conditional formatting is active) has been lost. This does not happen
everywhere though (column AW is very similar, but retains its base formatting
apart from cell AW7). I probably used the format painter to create most of
this formatting.

* CA6, CD6, etc are all lacking there base formatting and contain conditional
formatting.

* Columns J, CA, CD, etc have lost centering of their contents - these columns

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: nem...@numbertext.org
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.0.beta1
 Component: Linguistic
   Product: LibreOffice

Grammar checking (Lightproof (en)) component is missing from the
Options-Writing Aids-Available language modules (grammar checking doesn't
work either). Also the Hunspell SpellChecker module doesn't listed after
removing the system-wide dictionaries on Ubuntu, despite that the spell
checking works with the bundled dictionaries (see the attached screenshot).

LinguServiceManager used by the optlingu.cxx (Writing Aids) doesn't know the
Grammar checker component and – depending from the available system-wide
dictionaries – Hunspell dictionaries of the bundled packages. There is no
problem with the extra dictionary extensions.

 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

UX guys suggest that slide-jockeys would appreciate the familiar: F5 to start
the slideshow from the beginning, and Shift-F5 to start from the current slide.

To do that we need to go hack some code:

officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Accelerators.xcu

and search for .uno:Presentation.

We need to add a new name here eg. .uno:PresentationThisSlide next to
.uno:Presentation.

Then we need to add a description of that to:

officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/UI/DrawImpressCommands.xcu

so it can be translated.

Then we need to add an SID:

sd/inc/sdcommands.h:#define CMD_SID_PRESENTATION
.uno:Presentation

Then add this SID to the switch in:

sd/source/ui/slidesorter/controller/SlsSlotManager.cxx

and a new case to:

void SlotManager::ShowSlideShow( SfxRequest rReq)

A:

git grep CMD_SID_PRESENTATION

will prolly show us other places to poke, perhaps a bit of addition to the help
- and of course a new line to reset the current slide to the first when
starting the slideshow would be great.

Hopefully not so hard :-)

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58507

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58507
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMATTING: Conditional formatting rules only appear
for selected cells if the range selected fully matches
the range which the rule applies to
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: john.pr...@cantab.net
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.0.beta1
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 71793
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=71793action=edit
Screenshots from 4.0 beta 1 to explain the confusion

Problem description: when selecting a cell and then selecting CF - condition
the rule only appears if the entire range that the conditional formatting rule
applies to is selected (otherwise it may lead the user to believe that there
are no conditional formatting rules applied to the selected cell)

Steps to reproduce:
1. open the example from bug 58484, attachment 71764 [details]
2. select cell AN7
3. select: format - conditional formatting - condition

Simpler steps to reproduce:
A. create a spreadsheet with a conditional formatting rule applied to A1:A2
B. select cell A1
C. select: format - conditional formatting - condition

Current behavior: the list is empty

Expected behavior: the list makes it clear by some means that there is a rule
which applies to the selected cell, but that the range is different (e.g.
yellow triangle at the top and this cell has conditional formatting applied as
part of a range to other cells click here to view all conditional formatting
rules - the link would open the 'Manage...' dialogue.

Workaround (for steps 1-3): select the exact range
(T7:W46,Z7:Z46,AD7:AG46,AJ7:AJ46,AN7:AQ46,AT7:AT46) as listed under CF -
Manage, then select CF - Condition and the rule is listed (presumably as the
range at the bottom of the dialogue box now matches)

Alternative Workaround: always use CF - Manage to deal with cells which may
already contain conditional formatting to avoid getting confused

--- Comment #2 from Tony Cross tonycros...@yahoo.co.uk ---
After a lot more research I've established that setting Windows 7 in
compatibility mode does NOT resolve the problem. Neither does Run as
administrator.

I have also done a vanilla install of Windows 8 followed by an install of LO
3.6 (and nothing else) and I get the problem, so I don't think it's anything to
do with my setup.

The problem seems to occur most when using cut and paste in a writer doc that
contains an image. I've not been able to reproduce the problem in a doc without
an image. What I did was:

1. Create a new writer doc
2. Enter a few paragraphs of random text
3. Insert an image (with optimal text wrap and specified border sizes)
4. Copy and paste paragraphs of text around the doc.
5. Save-As the doc
6. Export as a pdf (via the toolbar button).

The dialog box to choose the destination for the pdf file was not displayed and
the 0xc005 error appeared in the Windows event log.

Pressing the export to pdf button again eventually (after about 40 seconds)
produced the dialog box and from then on LO seemed to work ok.

Hello

(In reply to comment #1)
If I want to create a report without any table a popup appears:
The report can not be executed unless it is bound to content.
When I create a table (what isn't described in the report) and connect to
the report, I can execute it. There doesn't appear any content in the
report, because there isn't any content in the table.

I confirm this comment : I can not reproduce with windows 7 64bits
Version 4.0.0.0.beta1+ (Build ID: b0eb7231a9643d71be3125be7248c91242339ab)

I also tried after creating a table.
Execute the report displays another message:
The report can not be executed unless at least on object has been inserted.

Note: my JRE is 1.6.0_38

distorted cell grid after scrolling

This bug appeared some time ago after upgrading Libreoffice, and I was hoping
it would disappear after one of the folluwing updates, but it didn't.

When scrolling from left to right and then backwards using the cursor keys or
the scrollbar arrow keys, the cell grid gets distorted. Changing the zoom level
or minimizing/maximizing the window refreshes the screen.

Scrolling up/down or scrolling using the scrollbar (dragging the scrollbar with
the mouse) doesn't distort the grid.

Thanks a lot for your help.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57985] SQL: left() function causes VARCHAR_IGNORECASE columns to be compared case-sensitive

--- Comment #5 from pierre-yves samyn pierre-yves.sa...@laposte.net ---
Hello

Well, for me it is not a bug.

(In reply to comment #0)
My issue is that I need a way to force
comparisons to be case-insensitive, and apparently specifying the column
 type isn't sufficient...

Yes it is :

 The SQL statement
 update Text1 T1 set Target=(select Col2 from Text2 T2 where
 T1.Col1=T2.Col2)
 works as expected

Now, in a query, as you point out the order of comparison is crucial.

With the SQL statement:
 update Text1 T1 set Target=(select Col2 from Text2 T2 where
 T1.Col1=left(T2.Col2,5))

T1.Col1 ignores case and accepts so uppercase or lowercase (result of
left...)

With the SQL statement:

 update Text1 T1 set Target=(select Col2 from Text2 T2 where
 left(T2.Col2,5)=T1.Col1)

The expression left(T2.Col2,5) is evaluated and compared with T1.Col1
T1.Col1 is defined as to ignore case, but not the result of expression
left...

IMHO This does not seem to me to be a bug, I would recommend then to close as
NOTABUG

(In reply to comment #1)
If I understand this response, with all due respect, it seems inappropriate:
the request is not here to be able to run update queries from the GUI.

The Issue is not either a limitation of the engine version but a different
result depending on how to write SQL.

Best regards
Pierre-Yves

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58514] New: re-rendering horrors in draw ...

2012-12-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Severity: blocker
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: michael.me...@novell.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.0.beta1
 Component: Drawing
   Product: LibreOffice

I'm seeing lots of re-rendering bugs in draw with display dirt everywhere; to
reproduce:

I start draw - I draw a black line; I enlarge it's width I now drag it around
the sheet: it disappears. Force re-rendering the whole scene renders it again
but ... wow that's not optimal :-)

I've seen similar behavior for other bits when loaded.

I draw a rectangular box - it should be blue filled: but I see only the
outline, oddly I see the correct box in the preview on the left. When I force
re-render it is back, but dragging it around the document the content
disappears again.

Adding such legacy .zip extensions to LO 4.0 (e.g., calling unopkg add

Caolan, do your recent symbol font handling changes improve anything here?

Let me answer instead of Caolán (my time is cheaper than Caolán’s one ;-):
I see good progress here: at least in our simple sample document, attachment
49722, the two Greek letters alpha and beta are now displayed correctly ...
when I open the file with the newest master build on Mac OS X.

So I would say the chances are good that we can close this bug, too --
thank you very much, Caolán!

Before we close this bug, it would be nice if someone could confirm that the
problem is fixed on Windows and Linux, too; in comment #1 and comment #7 I
suggested that the problem (mis-interpreted letters from the Symbol font) has
different reasons on Windows vs. Mac OS X ...

Well, I have tried the steps given in comment #0 with LibreOffice 3.6.4.3

one: no matter what combination of keys I press (Cmd, Alt, Ctrl, Shift, and all
their combinations), the column does neither move nor gets copied at all; the
only thing that changes sometimes is the number of selected columns.

But maybe I am just too stupid, or was not patient enough ...

it seems a regression from 3.6.x branch.

VLOOKUP seems more suitable for me.

HLOOKUP should be used in a horizontal matrix

I confirm that there is a wrong use of HLOOKUP and this is not a bug:

Complying with ODF standard:
Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) Version 1.2
Part 2: Recalculated Formula (OpenFormula)Format
OASIS Standard 29 September 2011

HLOOKUP function is defined § 6.14.5 page 130:
Summary: Look for a matching value in the first row of the given table, and
return the value of the indicated row.
VLOOKUP function is defined § 6.14.12 page 136:
Summary: Look for a matching value in the first column of the given table, and
return the value of the indicated column.

In your example, you want to look in the first column, so you must use VLOOKUP.
Notice also that arguments of your function are incorrect (the 3rd argument
should be an integer). For obtaining what you want, you must use:
=VLOOKUP (B4;A7:B148;2)

Problem description:

(1) Open new text document.
(2) “Insert File...”. A Windows dialog is openend in order to choose a file
to be inserted.
(3) Choose a picture file with the file extension jpg or png. Then “OK” or
“Open”. The dialog closes and nothing is inserted. Expected: Display of an
error message: “The file 'filename.jpg' cannot be inserted, hence it is not a
text file.” or a similar message.

Furthermore the menu item “Insert File...” suggests that this is a general
possibility in order to insert files and not only a possibility to insert text
files. So, if a user expects this (insert picture), he may be quite irritated,
if this is not possible. In order to avoid such an expectation, the menu item
should be changed to “Text file...” or “Text document...”. Then, in the
following Windows open dialog only files in text format, which can be inserted,
should be displayed. This would be equal if you insert a picture from a file
(Insert Picture From File...).

Additional Info: In Impress and Draw you can also insert a file with the same
menu item. If you try to insert a picture there, you get an error message.

When is it works correct:
1) cell A6 menu-format-cells-texteffect
2) by option textcolor black

When works it not correct and is a standard setting in LO:
1) cell A6 menu-format-cells-texteffect
2) by option textcolor Automatic

I hope this is solve that it works with the standard textcolor setting.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57985] SQL: left() function causes VARCHAR_IGNORECASE columns to be compared case-sensitive

2012-12-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57985

--- Comment #6 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---

  update Text1 T1 set Target=(select Col2 from Text2 T2 where
  T1.Col1=left(T2.Col2,5))

T1.Col1 is defined as to ignore case, but not the result of expression
 left...

In SQL it has to be the same result when linking a = b or b = a. When this
doesn't work it is a bug.
Try in the example-database:
SELECT Col2 FROM Text2 WHERE 'pqrst' = Col2
Response is Col2 with 'pqRst'.

 (In reply to comment #1)
If I understand this response, with all due respect, it seems inappropriate:
the request is not here to be able to run update queries from the GUI.

The comment has nothing to do with an update-query from the GUI. The problem of
this bug is, that nobody from the Libre-Office developers could change
something at this position. It's a direct SQL-input. Somebody, who has
installed a newer version of HSQLDB, could try the command. Could be, that it
works in the way the reporter of the bug thinks it should work.

I can confirm the bug, but I would say: it is not our bug.

The code mentioned in dictionaries.xcu file is working as expected.
But it does not seem to be compatible with auto correct files. So the following
does not work.

node oor:name=AutoCorrect_mr_IN oor:op=fuse
prop oor:name=Locations oor:type=oor:string-list
value%origin%/acor_mr-IN.dat/value
/prop
prop oor:name=Format oor:type=xs:string
valueDICT_AUTOCORRECT/value
/prop
prop oor:name=Locales oor:type=oor:string-list
valuemr-IN/value
/prop
/node

1) Does the oor object supports AutoCorrect property?
2) I was told to use use Path settings, but I do not see any example code where
auto correct list is made available through an extension.
dictionaries.xcu should allow autocorrect installation. This will make the
packaging of lists uniform and compact.

This should definitely NOT be the case.
It should be possible to have endnotes on the same page as the end of the

===
Better still, it should be possible to have endnotes at different places, for
exemple if you have several articles and want endnotes for each.
This is possible with WordPerfect, apparently not with Word.

Reporter from Bug 58495 here. Thanks Urmas for finding out that my report was a

locale.

Anyway, during my search, a quick and dirty workaround is to change the system
locale to match the language of the user's profile, i.e. Cyrillic in your case
or Greek in mine. Of course this is not optimal or wanted in most of the cases.

Exporting the very same file as PDF with LO 3.5.4.7 in openSUSE 12.2 KDE

LO 3.5.7.2 (Build ID:3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225ab) has the same

Well, for me it is not a bug.

I disagree.

Now, in a query, as you point out the order of comparison is crucial.

I'm not aware of any other SQL situation in which a comparison is
non-commutative. Equal should mean equal, regardless of the order of the
comparands, and as far as I know it does mean that in every other flavor of
SQL. What you're describing sounds like a workaround for a bug, and not one
that I as a developer would be happy to publicize except as a short-term fix.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54871] Unnecessary flicker in the text cursor

I can confirm this bug for LibreOffice 4.0 beta 1:

When selecting a piece of text by left-clicking on the text, the cursor starts
to flicker because to the regular cursor blink and additional blink is added
at the moment you press the left mouse button.
