The patch from comment #23 had to be reverted, see bug #58963. So yeah, we are

Picture showing the error

Dear Sir's

Calc gets an error, if I use a working calculation in a sheet, saved as *.xls
(Excel). If I save it with the extension *.ods and start the sheet, this field
will show an ERR 511. See the attached picture, the calculation on the right
side (.xls) works fine, the other shows an error. The formulas are the same in
all cases.
What is wrong or is this bug?

Greetings

Klaus Lengfeld

(In reply to comment #28)
That is ridiculous. THE SAME problem is STILL present in 4.0.0.1 and affect
 now Brazilian dictionary too!

Urmas, to help track down your problem, can you do the following:

* Generate a zip file (the original zip format,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zip_%28file_format%29, /not/ something like
7-Zip etc.) containing all the (recursive) content of your LO installation's
share/extensions/dict-en/ (but not containing dict-en as a root directory
itself), save that zip file as C:\test.oxt.

* Completely remove your LO installation's share/extensions/ folder (or move it
away, to restore it later).

* Completely remove any existing LO/OOo user profiles (or move them away, to
restore them later).

* Open and close soffice once (you could check that Tools - Extension
Manager... shows no extensions at all, neither Installation nor Shared nor
User ones).

* On a command line, change to your LO installation's program/ directory, then
execute unopkg add C:\test.oxt. Does that generate any output? If not, what
is the output of unopkg list?

GerardF was faster than me :-)

Not a valid bug report!

@klaus.lengfeld:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem?
Please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach sample documents (both, .xls and .ods, not only screenshot)
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation! Before
you submit a bug you should read Help, although it probably IS a bug)
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Generally I recommend:
ask for assistance on
http://ask.libreoffice.org/questions/
or on the public users mailing list us...@libreoffice.org, a mailing list
from http://www.documentfoundation.org/contribution/#lists or
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Local_Mailing_Lists before you submit a
new bug.
For new Bug reports pleas use LibO menu 'Help - Feedback (Bug)'

Hi there

A few days ago I wasn't able to use save as anymore and when trying to do so,
LO just crashed that I have insufficient rights to do so.

In the #libreoffice channel on freenode I was told it could be because of .lock
files. So I wrote this little script:

#!/bin/bash

# Display
find /home/hyper -type f -iname '.~lock.*' -exec ls {} \;

# Delete
find /home/hyper -type f -iname '.~lock.*' -exec rm {} \;

Run it, it found lots of lock files and after removing them, LO was working
just fine again.

Now today suddenly the same thing happens but removing the lock files doesn't
help.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59462

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59462
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: CONFIGURATION: Additional User Field Variables for
Forename and Surname required
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.3.0 Beta2
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

This one is a spin Off from Bug 38451 - TEMPLATES: Letter Wizard for Formal
Personal Letter takes instead of User Field

In Writer Menu 'Insert - Fields - Other - Variables - User Field - ... You
will find several Address Variables, but Forename and Surname are missing.

Forename and Surname variables are required for Letter Wizard and Fax Wizard,
for Details please see a.m. Bug Comm. 6

How to fix:
1. find out what Variable names Wizard needs
2. Leave a comment in Bug 38451 so that Templates can be amended
3. Add new LibO User Field Variables

This never worked in LibO (and OOo)

Version|3.4.0 release |3.3.0 Beta2

--- Comment #6 from Rainer Bielefeld libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de ---
Back to list due to facts.

I did some research and found the reason for the problem.

If you use normal Sender data in the resulting letter this contents will be
contributed by fields Document - Sender, what show Data from menu 'Tools -
Options - User Data'

If you select New Sender in the wizard, these fields should be replaced for
the resulting document by fields type Variables - User filed - City, Company,
...

The bug is that only fields for Address will change to User Field, but Field
Document - Sender - Forename and Document - Sender - Surname will not be
replaced by Variable - User Field - Forename, Variable - User Field -
Surname

I have no clue concerning these fields, it seems that the problem is that
Variable - User Field - Forename, Variable - User Field - Surname do not
exist for LibO?
The template seems to be off-elegant_l.ott

I already see the problem in AOOo 3.4.0 OOo 3.1.1, OOo 2.0!
So this is inherited from OOo, and a so long pending bug is not critical

How to fix
---
a) someone has to find out what field names the Wizard wants to write with New
Sender Forename and New Sender Surname
b) these fields have to be created for LibO, Bug 59462 - CONFIGURATION:
Additional User Field Variables for Forename and Surname required
c) in the relevant templates the Document data fields have to be replaced by
New Variable - User Field - Forename, Variable - User Field -
Surname in affected templates off-elegant_l.ott, off-modern_l.ott
   off-office_l.ott,
d) someone should find out what Fax templates might be affected.

At least modification should be an EasyHack

Bug ID: 59464

IN SPLIT DATABASE
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: gui...@crabtreegrove.co.uk
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

In a database with tables stored separately in accordance with advice at
http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/FAQ_%28Base%29#HSQLDB it is impossible to
design a table with an Integer/AutoValue field using the Table Wizard or Design
View.

Editing table field parameters in such split databases is a known problem but
there are workarounds involving complex copying and pasting as described at
http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13t=54254 but this method
does not allow an Integer field to be set to AutoValue.

The problem of editing table field properties is a significaant issue for many
users and I would like this to be looked at but the inability to set up an
AutoValue field is much more serious. It is a basic requirement to be able to
set up an Integer/AutoValue field as a Master Key field in a table so this is a
serious defficiency and I hope it can be addressed as soon as possible.

I recently renamed my user config dir to test something, and having started
Writer, I got some strange Add-On 1 toolbar floating around, which makes me
wonder because of:
1. Its name - what on earth is Add-On 1?
2. Floating - this has never appeared in earlier versions of LibO.
It refers to running some program in Writer in its tooltips.
I'm not sure if it's intended, but it looks strange.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59471] New: UI: Scroll through sheet tabs not possible

2013-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59471

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59471
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: UI: Scroll through sheet tabs not possible
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: woodforw...@yahoo.co.uk
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
Scroll command (mouse or touchpad) whilst hovering over the tabs for different
sheets does not scroll left or right. When using multiple sheets, this is very
useful (and available on other, M$ products) in order to scroll then merely
select the appropriate tab, rather than clicking Ctrl-PgDn/PgUp repeatedly

Steps to reproduce:
1. Hover over tabs
2. Scroll Up/Down/L/R using touchpad gesture or Mouse wheel turn
3. Nothing happens

Current behavior:
Nothing happens. I end up flicking through each tab in sequence.

Expected behavior:
Up Left scrolls move visible tabs to right (without selecting them).
Right Down scrolls move visible tabs to left (without selecting them).

Thanks, Bughunters
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 3.5.4 release

Indeed, that would be useful for documents with lot of sheets.

That never worked in LibO / OOo

May be we should have a separate bug for the corresponding function in Draw /

Marking as WFM since now it's been seen that on Linux and on Windows for other
users we're not seeing this problem.

I would recommend two things:

1) Reset your profile

2) Install RC1 which was released a few days ago

If the problem persists after release of RC2, please reopen and I'll take a
look at it again.

Thanks for your patience, sorry we can't reproduce

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59472] New: Calc locks other open spreadsheets when selecting cells for function in function guide

2013-01-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59472

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 59472
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Calc locks other open spreadsheets when selecting
cells for function in function guide
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: j...@lachmann.nu
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

When having two windows open in Calc and in one of them you start the function
guide, select a function and click the selection button for the data for it.
You can now select the data in the spreadsheet, but the other window with
another spreadsheet will be locked. It will in fact be locked until you close
the function guide of the first window altogether.

Steps to reproduce:

Open two spreadsheets in calc (each in its own window)
Click a cell in spreadsheet one and open the function guide (insert -
function)
Double-click a function to add it
Click the selection button to select cells to use for the function

Spreadsheet two will now be locked until you exit the function guide of
spreadsheet one. The second window should not be affected at all by these
actions.

Can I install LibreOffice 4.0 RC1 alongside my existing LibreOffice 3.6.4

Sure you can, but not with a 'regular' installation. LibreOffice 4.0.0.1 RC1
will install like it's a 3.6.4 installation; so it'll change your existing user
profile.

Here you can take a look how to install parallel versions:

I can only bibisect a bug that I have a working version and a non working

then it's a regression I can track down, if it's just broken on multiple
versions then I can't bibisect it.

--- Comment #1 from Joel Madero jmadero@gmail.com ---
Verified on 3.6.3.2, changing version.

@Reporter - Version reflects the oldest version that you have seen this
behavior, not the newest that it has been tested on. We use comments to say we
tested on a later release.

Marking as:
New (confirmed)
Normal (bug that affects a basic feature of LibO, makes it only half
functional)
Low (only affects one subset of a feature, inserting images, not a lot of users
affected)

Thanks for helping out!

The above commit fixes the problem in that it no longer causes a crash when
browsing the LO-internal file dialog to the directory containing the file with
| in its name. That file is still displayed as an odd element with an empty
name, though.

Requested backporting the fix to libreoffice-4-0
(https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/1719/) and libreoffice-3-6
(https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/1720).

Summary: FILESAVE: Problem saving a specific spreadsheet
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: r...@kallisti.us

Saving this spreadsheet makes calc freak out

Hello,

There is a specific spreadsheet I need to fill out. Whenever I try to save it,
Calc burns 100% CPU and eventually grows to consume all system memory.

The spreadsheet in question is attached. It is also publicly available at:
http://www.gss.uconn.edu/documents/funding/GSS%20Tier%20II%20Budget%20Allocation%20Request%20Workbook_Updated.xlsx

The problem is 100% reproducible:
1) Open the above document.
2) Make some minor change so that it can be saved.
3) Save.

Operating System: Debian
Version: 3.5.4 release

remove CVS from Save as.. and place it under export, so that the data integrety
is saved. Then when a export to cvs occures, you still work in the .ods and
every sheet is saved on a save. export means some data is lost but your
original remains. save as just let you continue in your document under a
different name.

It is not strange to make tabseperated plaintext exports from a working
document to use them somewhere else. that is why vcs in export is a good thing.

btw, never point to a bug in someoneelses program as a reason. especially not
when MS is involved. we all know how beautiful they can motivate things

Thanks for reporting!

I can reproduce this behavior.

3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff) shows the lines (without zooming)

4.0.0.1 (Build ID: 527dba6f6e0cfbbc71bd6e7b88a52699bb48799)
TinderBox: MacOSX TDF Release, Branch:libreoffice-4-0, Time:
2013-01-09_10:49:53
doesn't show the lines properly at zoom level 100%. If you look very good, you
can see a little bit of the lines, but not clear at all.

Tested with Mac OSX 10.8.2

Kind regards,
Joren
