[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58417] Libreoffice 4.0 crashes in LanguageTag constructor at start on Ubuntu 12.10 64bit

2013-02-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58417

Hi everyone,

I downloaded the final stable release's (4.0.0.3) deb files and installed. The
symptons are the same: LibreOffice loads, if I click on a menu item, or type
some text the app crashes. If I re-launch it quits immediately after the splash
screen. If I remove the libreoffice directory in ~/.config it loads again.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit and have several languages installed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60577] New: Use English function names - 100 function names are still not in English

2013-02-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60577

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 60577
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Use English function names - 100 function names are
still not in English
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mini...@poczta.onet.pl
  Hardware: All
Status: NEW
   Version: 3.5.6.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 74526
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=74526action=edit
List of functions not translated to English

Calc can use English function names in otherwise localized environment.
Unfortunately, after checking this option, exactly 100 function names still
appear in localized language instead of English. Please see attached
spreadsheet for excessive list. It seems that they all appear in files that are
in scaddins directory in Pootle, which may help narrow down the issue.

Expected output:
After checking Use English function names, all function names should be in
English.

I could reproduce this on:
- LO 3.5.6 on Arch Linux (i386)
- LO 3.6.5 on Debian GNU/Linux (amd64)
- LO 4.0.0 on Windows 7 (i386)

One user pointed out that this bug was introduced in 3.5.6; 3.5.5 and earlier
worked as expected, which would classify this issue as regression. I did not
check if this is really a case.

I have checked only Polish version of LO. Don't know if this appears in other
languages and to what avail.

This might be seen as duplicate of:
- #32686 - I could reproduce this problem on other OSes, so this is not
Ubuntu-specific bug.
- #50118 - I don't know if this is matter of LO's core or add-in; it does
appear on standard installation of LO (without any third-party extensions) and
users perceive it as a bug, so I strongly believe it is a bug.

Feel free to reopen one of above and mark this issue as duplicate.

Best regards,
Mirosław Zalewski

Hi Ron, I think this works as expected. You get leading zeros if the length of
the numberstring is less then your specified count.

Eg. if you have 100 and take 3 leading zeros your result is 100. If you have
100 and 4 leading zeros you get 0100. So for numbers 1-9 you will get the
number itself with leading zeros set to 1 or 0. If your number starts with 0
there's a difference. See the example. I think what the user as default expects
is a leading zero for 0.1. So all is fine :)

New template manager, introduced in 4.0.0, can import templates from external
sources. Unfortunately, this option is available only after selecting directory
in main window. Many users are used to going into directory and then pressing
Ctrl+V, so they have hard time figuring out new workflow.

This can be fixed by making option Import template ever-visible. This way
users can first descend into directory and then import template.

Created attachment 74532

The attachment shows the result of inserting a PNG image to LibreOffice Draw by
using Copy/Paste from Mac OS X Finder.

Hi! I am a proud user of LO, but there is one annoying bug that affects many
versions of this office suite and that could be fixed easily in my opinion: I
do not remember, when it actually worked properly (I am using LO since version
3.3.). I was always expecting it to be solved in the next version. Now, I have
decided to report it myself.

Problem description:
If you want to insert an image from Finder to your Draw project by using
Copy/Paste, the software inserts only an icon named PNG,JPG,TIFF based on the
image's extension, but not the image itself. If you do the same Copy/Paste
trick from Finder to other components of LibreOffice, like Writer, it works
normally. If you do it in Draw or Impress, it inserts only an icon.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Find an image on your Mac by using Finder
2. Select the image
3. Press Cmd+C
4. Jump to LibreOffice Draw
5. Press Cmd+V

Current behavior:
If reproduced correctly, you will not see your image, but only an icon, named
PNG,JPG,TIFF... based on the original image's extension.

If you try to insert the same image by pressing Cmd+V in Writer, Impress and
Draw, you will see that only Draw and Impress are affected, while Writer
inserts the image properly.

Expected behavior:
I expected that Copy/Paste of an image to LibreOffice Draw would insert the
image itself, like it does in Writer, where this function works properly. I
just love to use Cmd+C / Cmd+V to insert my images and photographs directly
into my documents, presentations and drawings. It's fast and user-friendly.

Thanks you, guys!

New template manager, introduced in 4.0.0, has breadcrumb navigation. This is
basically great, but it is missing some kind of separators between buttons
representing directories. Adding them would make breadcrumbs easier to
recognize and use.

Most common separators are:

Same for me on Windows with the latest version. You have to change all
paragraph settings for every cell alone. Selecting all cells and setting
paragraph settings will only do it for the first cell.

Works: Version 3.6.3.2 (Build ID: 3.6.3.2-8.fc18), Linux, Fedora 18

@Marc (In reply to comment #2):
I can't even tell whether there is a bug at all. I only see that mirrorbrain
list
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.6.5/.mirrorlist
show much less mirrors than I know and than shown on
http://download.documentfoundation.org/mirrors/all.html and reported this
fact here. An expert has to decide whether might indicate a problem or whether
that's expected or whatever else.

I found this link somewhere here in an other bug (forgot where) and I don't
know what the exact function is.

Because I currently do not see any mirror problems I close this Bug for now

Breadcrumbs not updated in new template manager

New template manager, introduced in 4.0.0, has breadcrumb navigation.
Unfortunately, it is not correctly updated after switching tabs at top of
window.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open new template manager
2. Switch tab to Presentations
3. Descend into Presentation backgrounds directory
4. Switch tab to Documents

Result:
No templates are shown. Breadcrumb navigation still shows All templates →
Presentation backgrounds. See attached image (it's from Polish version of LO;
Prezentacje means Presentations, pretty similar to English).

Expected results:
Refresh breadcrumb navigation and change current directory to root. In above
case, MediaWiki directory should be shown.

In new template manager, introduced in 4.0.0, selecting template in main window
causes button bar to change. It gives new buttons, like Edit, Properties
etc.

Unfortunately, it also removes search button and gear button. Currently to
search for template users must deselect item, most likely by going one
directory up. I can not see any rationale for this. Why users should not search
for templates after selecting one?

I strongly believe that search button and gear button should be always
present by right side of button bar.

   5077 throw ( beans::UnknownPropertyException,

   5089 }

Now why LO is entering in if loop, I don't know.

Can you tell how the customer had this? Just by opening the file? Has it
already worked for them?
Did they store the file in local hard disk or in shared network folder?

I don't know macros at all but do they read from or write in a location?

Hi Rainer,

I don't think this should be in Bugzilla. This should be on the discussion list
where it can be discussed and come to a conclusion. Could you take it up there
instead?

Some of the working in EN could become confusing to a newcomer and even an EN
user/member.

But, again, this should better be discussed on the discussion list.

Cheers,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60589] New: REGRESSION [Template manager] Can not copy styles between different files and templates

Classification: Unclassified

Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: Libreoffice

LibreOffice 4.0.0 introduced new template manager. Unfortunately it is missing
feature in compare to old one.

In LO 3.6 and earlier you could open Template organizer window (File →
Templates → Organize), which gave ability to copy styles between files and
templates. This feature is described in Writer 3.6 guide, chapter 6, Copying
and moving styles (page 194-196).

It is no longer available in 4.0.0, therefore I mark it as regression.

I don't know whether this feature integrate nicely with new template manager.
Maybe old window should be bring back, but invoked from new place (like File
menu or gear button in new template manager)?
But I do know that for some users that was really helpful feature (in some
scenarios).

Best regards

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59500] MIRROR: Incomplete list

--- Comment #4 from Florian Effenberger flo...@documentfoundation.org ---
It's not a bug. There are mirrors who only serve their country, ASN/netblock or
continent/region. Those are then not listed on the mirror list on purpose.

We have to be careful that submitters realize that the Accessibility tag is
for physical accessibilities. I remember that when I first joined the project I
wondered why a list for accessibilities was needed and it was only later
[*blush*] that someone corrected me and filled me in about this.

So, I wonder it there is a way to warn a user submitting an accessibitly bug
that accessibility means for physical accessibility.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60592] New: [REGRESSION] Can not assign document to different template

2013-02-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60592

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 60592
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: [REGRESSION] Can not assign document to different
template
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mini...@poczta.onet.pl
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

In LibreOffice 4.0.0 it is no longer possible to assign current document to
different template.

In LO 3.6 and earlier we had two options:
- copy styles from template to current document → regression reported as
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60589
- use Template Changer extension
(http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/template-changer). Due to
removal of File → Templates menu item, this extension no longer works (perhaps
it can be invoked from Macro window, though).

We are left only with Load styles option in Stylist, but it is available only
for Writer (no Calc and Draw; Impress has it's own Master Slides import tool).

What would be great is new button in File → Properties → General tab. At the
bottom of this window is Template field. On it's right could be button
change template which would fire up new template manager. After selecting
template, document would be assigned to it.

Best regards
Mirosław Zalewski

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60593] New: REGRESSION [Template manager] Creating new template directory is unnecessarily hard

2013-02-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60593

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 60593
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: REGRESSION [Template manager] Creating new template
directory is unnecessarily hard
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mini...@poczta.onet.pl
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

In LibreOffice 4.0.0 it is pretty hard to create new template directory. One
has to:

1. Select template
2. Move to directory → New directory → Enter name
3. Move another template to new directory or save current file as template
there
4. Go to new directory in template manager and move first template back to it's
original place

It is especially cumbersome while saving file as new template, since user has
no Move to directory option. It has either save template elsewhere and then
move it, or cancel saving, create new directory (following steps above) and
save again.

What we could use is new item in gear menu. This way user would simply
1. File → Save as template
2. Gear button → Create new directory → Enter name
3. Save

Please also note that gear button should be always visible then; I have
reported this as https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60587

Steps to reproduce:
1. File → New → Text Document
2. → Insert → Footer → Default Style → Footer
3. → Type Page
4. → Insert → Fields → Page Number
5. → Main body of document
6. → Hit Enter repeatedly to create another page
7. → Format → Styles and Formatting → Page Styles → All
8. → Right-click Default Style → Modify...
9. → Footer
10. → Uncheck Same content on first page → OK
11. → Page 2 → Click first paragraph
12. → Format → Paragraph
13. → Text Flow → Insert
14. → With Page Style
15. → Page number → 1 → OK

Only two pages are displayed, but the page count indicates three pages.

(I do not know if the printer will print three pages instead.)

See the attached document and screenshot.

Current behavior: The page count does not match the actual number of visible
pages.

Expected behavior: The page count should match the actual number of visible
pages.
