[Reproducible] with Server Installation of LibO 4.0.0.3 - GERMAN UI /
German Locale [Build ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89)]
{tinderbox: @6, pull time 2013-01-31 11:30(?)} on German WIN7 Home Premium
(64bit) with separate new User Profile:
3D-Like soaring sheet with shadow shown as very simple spiky triangle

My results with other Versions:
3.3.3: No graphic shown
3.5.7: No graphic shown
3.6.5: No graphic shown
4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Branch:master, Time: 2013-02-22_21:43:36): Crippled triangle
view as reported

So it seems we see the first steps to make xml integrated svg pictures (?)
visible in imported .docx?

@Eugen:
Thank you for the report!
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
create more specific Summary lines for reports in future?

I believe we already know about this – there was some performance regression
when you had a decently large number of templates. Adding Cedric, maybe he
knows if this is a dupe and maybe already fixed..?

I only found this on the mailing list:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice-ux-advise/2013-January/001724.html

(Setting to NEW because of Alex Thurgood's similar experience.)

...

At the same time, turning thumbnails off sounds like a less-than-great solution
to me, since they are quite important in the new template manager. And once you
introduce an option, there is often no turning back even if the situation
betters significantly.

 Hi Markus,

It looks finally crash after a long hang here. Would you mind to have a look
if time available? Thanks in advance :)

Ok, So the first look (while it is still loading) shows that the file contains
a large number of conditional formats. Applying them to the calc model seems to
be the problem but the time is really spend in handling SfxItemSet and
SfxPoolItems and not in the conditional format code itself.

I'll check with Excel and see if there is a better way how we can handle this
file.

Confirmed. It is actually a docx export problem.

The mentioned formula format function totally missing when exporting to docx:

{alignc n} over {x}
{alignl n} over {x}
{alignr n} over {x}

Namely, save the document as odt file doesn't trigger the problem.

Thus proceed to next page when the space bar is pressed in Writer if the file
is in read-only mode.
Might also be helpful for the Presentation app.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59704] Odt to html conversion with characters Iranian / Arabic

I's comments on website
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=842121
of Jonathan Kew :
AFAICT, I don't think this is a Firefox bug.

The problem is that the paragraph in question is being laid out with
left-to-right directionality, even though it happens to contain Persian text.
Hence, the paragraph indent appears at the left-hand end of the first line; and
the last (partial) line is aligned to the left. This is correct layout for a
left-to-right paragraph, and is not changed by the fact that some of the words
- even as many as 100% of them! - in the paragraph happen to be in a
right-to-left script.

Note that there's nothing in the HTML suggesting that this paragraph should in
fact be laid out in right-to-left mode. The body element is explicitly tagged
with dir=ltr; this is inherited by all the paragraphs within it, as they do
not override it.

The layout would be fixed if that Persian paragraph were tagged with
dir=rtl in the source, or if it included direction:rtl in its CSS styling.
But apparently the LibreOffice export failed to do either of those things, even
though the paragraph was presumably presented in RTL layout within LO.

Another possibility would be to tag the paragraphs with dir=auto, which would
make them infer directionality from the text content. This would have provided
the desired result here, though it's possible that it might fail in more
complex cases where the paragraph contains a -mixture- of LTR and RTL text.

It looks as though IE must be doing something like dir=auto here, even though
the document is explicitly marked (on the body element) as dir=ltr. While
this is giving the desired result in this particular case, I don't think it is
spec-conformant; the real problem is the deficiency in LO's export.

(cc-ing smontagu for confirmation of my understanding here, as he knows more
about these properties.)

It has writing-mode:rl-tb CSS attribute which supersedes direction:rtl.
Firefox not supporting is a problem with Firefox.

If you need the latter attribute explicitly, turn this into an enhancement

Fair cop :-) I fixed the 4.0 new features page; could you fix the wiki ?

export to SVG for release 4.0

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60845] changed directory structure in LO 4 blocks Bibus reference manager

2013-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60845

--- Comment #3 from brendel bren...@nancy.inra.fr ---
I'm not sure that the passage of LO to Python 3 is the problem :
I have Python 2.6.1 installed on my Win7 computer and Bibus is using this to
run.
Also, the problem is not that the connection between Bibus and LO is not
working, but that Bibus is not finding the presence of LO. Once Bibus is
detecting LO, we can check if the UNO bridge is still working.
And I think that here the problem is that Bibus is looking for some files,
which might not exist anymore in the new installation or are somewhere else.
As already described, I had exactly the same problem between LO3.4 and LO3.5
and managed to get Bibus to detect LO by playing around with the directories in
the Bibus config file.
I agree that this probably needs to be fixed on the extension side.
But as the original programmes is not very active
Cheers

Oliver

Sorry, I indeed meant moving cell cursor. Ctrl-arrow is ok. But
Shift-Ctrl-arrow does not extend the cell selection in the same way ctrl-arrow
does, which is jumping to last consecutive cell or skipping empty cells, which
is very convenient. But Shift-Ctrl-arrow extends to sheet boundary instead.

I am not using any custom dictionary, only what's in the standard
myspell-czech-20080822-19.1.noarch.

When running hunspell directly it spits the same messages. Now, are
these messages harmless? If yes then LO could just filter them out
and that's it.

Or does the dictionary or hunspell needs fixing?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61505] New: FILESAVE: Saving spreadsheet with background colors

2013-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61505

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61505
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: Saving spreadsheet with background colors
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: luca_cer...@yahoo.it
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.0.2 rc
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create two styles EvenRow and OddRow with background colors (eg gray and
white).
2. Apply conditional formatting to cells:
formula ISEVEN(ROW()) apply EvenRow
formula ISODD(ROW()) apply OddRow
3. Clear the formatting of one of the cells and apply a different background
color (eg yellow).
4. Save
5. Reload

Current behavior:
The cell that supposedly should have had yellow background
is loaded with the conditional background color rather
than with the right background color.

Expected behavior:
The background color should stay the same when reloading the file.

The problem is that it was not easy to separate the various problems to
separate bugs, because in my source documents, from what I created various test
documents, often several different bugs affected the same cell, and often It
took some time until I learned what the real problem was. I will try to help to
sort as soon as I have a build with the latest fixes; currently Win-x86@6/'
latest build was 2013-02-23_23.21.01, MinGW similar (and see Bug 61482).

@Luca Cerone
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem?
Please add all information requested in following:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
Saving spreadsheet with background colors is not the description of a
  problem
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link; to attach a file to this
bug report, just click on Add an attachment right on this page.
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
  (attachment 68877, attachment 68490)
- Contribute a document related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
(similar to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
What cell? first or second condition? ...
-- concerning your Operating System (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version (with Build ID if it's not a public release)
and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(video hardware acceleration, Experimental features enabled, ...)
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
-- how you checked that it's not a FILEOPEN problem
–- Whether your problem persists when you renamed your user profile
before you launch LibO (please see
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#User_profile_location)
–- If you can contribute an AOOo Issue that might be useful
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Hi Urmas; sorry I had a poke at this but couldn't find where that is; that's a
shame because I moved onto another bug. Can you provide a path in the UI to the
user-defined spellchecking with Exception functionality ie. Edit-Insert-foo
type thing ? :-)

It really does pay to not assume that everyone else is as much of an expert as
you are.

Also - I assume that this is an Enhancement request ? if so, and assuming we
can understand what's needed (and given your grasp of the code) I guess you
could prolly add enough pointers to turn this into an easy hack yourself ?

I can not confirm this for LO 4.0 RC 2 Win 7 64bit. I have no Java installed.

Maybe Java is the culprit? Try uninstall Java and report back if it helps.

I can confirm problem still exists in Writer without Java with version 4.003
and Windows 8 Professional. Problem appears randomly - pasting in Word 2010 at
point of problem is OK so problem is Writer specific. I could run debug version
if you have one. I have had periods where 20 pastes are OK before the problem
- other times after 2-3 pastes. Each time I'm pasting newspaper articles and
copying a heading to create a filename. Writer retains the heading and not the
next paste.
Restarting LibreOffice clears the problem.

Conflicts:
sw/source/ui/misc/insrule.cxx

That dialog, and the artwork set / gallery that went with it were indeed a
horror.

So - I assume this is formally a NOTABUG - but of course we should ensure that
the UX advise people have given their input and that we havn't completely
removed the ability to insert an attractive horizontal rule.

So feel free to open if you feel strongly about it :-) Cedric - I guess if this
generates more angst, we should take this to ux-advise for some more feedback ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61511] New: problem Background rtf

2013-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61511

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61511
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: problem Background rtf
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: st...@unibloc.it
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Hi, I have a problem with LO 4.0.3. I set an image background, I use wmf, png
and bmp,(I should use a vector image) in a rtf file and i save the file without
problem. When I reopen the file the background disappears. I checked the rtf
file syntax and there isn't the syntax \background. I have a big problem also
with insert image. Infact if I anchor the image to the page and save to rtf
file if I reopen the file, the anchorage is lost.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61512] New: Calc ROUND() don't use default IEEE 754 method (- statistical error).

2013-02-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61512

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 61512
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Calc ROUND() don't use default IEEE 754 method (-
statistical error).
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: lo_b...@web.de
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

Why doesn't Calc'S ROUND() use the mathematical/statistical correct rounding
method that is also the default IEEE 754 standard for floating point numbers?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE-754#Roundings_to_nearest
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rounding#Round_half_to_even

Example:
=ROUND(5/2) gives 3
its should give 2 however, if it used the correct computer/statistics
rounding, because on a plain .5(...) you have to round to the even number
to avoid statistical errors.

More example: If you average over 1000 rounded positive half integers (- the
mean of 1000 random round(n/2) ) it will be simply wrong, because for all odd n
you will round up, but it will never happen that you round down. Your mean will
be to big.

That's why Calc should have a ROUND() that uses statistical/mathematical and
standard correct rounding.

This macro doesn't do anything except clutter the (already ugly) tools/ code
:-)

git grep -3 FSysFailOnErrorImpl

and kill with prejudice wherever it's found :-)

Thanks !

We have these files:

tools/source/fsys/wntmsc.hxx
tools/source/fsys/unx.hxx

that essentially duplicate system abstraction information from sal/ of course -
we're trying to write all that cruft out slowly, and this should be easy to
help out with.

eg. removing:

#define DRIVE_EXISTS(c) ( TRUE )

in the unx header would be good.

Replacing #define PATHDELIMITER ; from the wntmsc.hxx header at it's
use-sites with SAL_PATHSEPARATOR would be better NB. delimiter - separator ;-)
it's the wrong name.

And so on - lots of little things to clean up there.

Thanks ! :-)

Documents to reproduce the issue

I can confirm the issue on LO Version 4.0.0.3 (Build ID:
7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89) on Windows x64. Attached is a short
ODT accompanied with the XML produced by LO when saved as docbook. It lost most
of the document.

I was reading: framework/source/fwe/classes/addonsoptions.cxx and was annoyed
to see great blocks of bogus comments for tiny otherwise readable methods of
the form:

//*
//  constructor
//*

or:

//*
//  private method
//*

Those should all be ripped out with prejudice, and any others nearby as well to
make the code more readable :-)

Thanks !
