[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66524] LibreOffice 410rc1 start time regression vs. 3.6.6/4.0.4
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66524 --- Comment #20 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com --- With Caolan's fix (and mine - which will not make it to -4-1-0 but only -4-1-1) I get from: 1.642s for 4.1.0rc1 1.460s for 4.1.1 vs. 1.335s for 4.0 So - nearly 'fixed' :-) I'll run a new callgrind trace to see what's else looks unexpected; clearly we badly need those perf. regression tests that Matus created running regularly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66706] lifetime issue of DocumentBasicManager at exit of Base
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66706 --- Comment #4 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu --- (In reply to comment #3) lionel, is this easily reproducible? ( I tried on master, just opening some random odb and exiting but no luck ) I got a crash-at-exit again (with master), but got no backtrace ('ulimit -c' was 0...), and I cannot pin down specific instructions to make it reproducibly crash. From staring at the backtrace, I'd say it is related to the Basic IDE's Object Catalog: for each entry, it checks whether it should delete the entry or not. To do that, it calls HasMethod(), which tries to get the BasicManager, which implicitly creates it. My guess is that this is some kind of race condition between the document disappearing, the Basic manager disappearing, and the Object Catalog checking whether a specific Basic method is in the document. If this check happens after the Basic manager disappears, but before the whole document disappears, then this crash happens. When it does not crash, I get: warn:legacy.osl:23161:1:basic/source/basmgr/basicmanagerrepository.cxx:581: ImplRepository::_disposing: where does this come from? warn:legacy.osl:23161:1:basic/source/basmgr/basicmanagerrepository.cxx:581: ImplRepository::_disposing: where does this come from? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66706] lifetime issue of DocumentBasicManager at exit of Base
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66706 --- Comment #5 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu --- In particular, I notice: basic/source/basmgr/basicmanagerrepository.cxx void ImplRepository::Notify: // a BasicManager which is still in our repository is being deleted. // That's bad, since by definition, we *own* all instances in our // repository. But in my backtrace, it is notifications dbaccess::ODatabaseDocument::dispose that lead to destruction of the BasicManager (frames 40 to 48). Oh, but this goes via ImplRepository so should be OK, except that m_aStore contains an *already* *deleted* BasicManager (value 0x999). Grrr... This is confusing. At time of entrance in the loop body, we had loop-first == xNormalizedSource.get (). But at the time of the crash, loop-first has been deleted... Ah, actually this makes sense, since impl_removeFromRepository has called m_aStore.erase( loop )... I don't see any mutex in basicmanagerrepository; could this be a reentrency issue where one thread deletes the BasicManager under the feet of the other thread? I wonder if the if ( !isValid() ) in criptDocument::Impl::getBasicManager should not be if ( !isAlive() )... OTOH, in the trace, we see m_bDocumentClosed = false. Raaah... It fails with all newer versions. It seems that there is some problem with the type detection because some version tries to open the file as using the CSV filter and some as a normal ASCII text. The Paradox software probably generates a bit non-standard documents = it should not block the next bugfix release with many other fixes and improvements = lowering the severity a bit -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I may have made slightly misleading descriptions above. Let's try to be more clear this time :) When I open example link from Comment 0 from MS IE browser, it will naturally emit these dialogs: 1. To choose the action: Open / Save / Save As. 2. To confirm the action of the LibreOffice program installed on the computer to interact with the web page (thus breaking the IE protected mode). They are usual dialogs, that don't have anything strange. I only wanted to show the exact steps required to reproduce the dug. Because if you have, say, a download manager that intercepts the download and calls LO itself, then you will not see these dialogs, and will be unable to reproduce the bug. Similarly, if you try to download a file that have not MIME properly set, then IE will simply download the file and then start its associated program, instead of doing this interaction of program and WEB page thing, in which case you will not see these dialogs, and will be unable to reproduce the bug. Libreoffice will produce no error message whatsoever, but will actually perform a copy of the file into ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/templates and will append a period to the file name if the filename does not currently contain a period. Despite the apparent successful import as no error messages were produced, the result is that the imported template does not show up in the dialog and cannot be used. The badly-imported template, however, *does* show up in the dialog that opens when you say File - Save As Template..., which is a bit weird... If the imported filename was 255 characters long, and did not contain a period, libreoffice does not even successfully copy the file and still does not produce any error message whatsoever. The wrote cause is that SwFntObj::DrawText() uses the glyph widths array returned by OutputDevice::GetTextArray() (which in turn calls CTLayout::FillDXArray()) to calculate character positions/text width, and all are integer based while Core Text is floating point based and can return fractional glyph widths, so we end up with accumulated rounding errors that manifests in this issue (and probably bug 65971 as well). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59667] LibreOffice Writer doesn't display a certain doc file correctly.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59667 --- Comment #16 from Cor Nouws c...@nouenoff.nl --- Hi ! (In reply to comment #15) I have read and reread your last comment several times and am not sure what you really want. Sorry for no being clear enough! It's by far easiest for developers, when different problems have a separate issue. When the document has various issues, it is well possible that completely different pieces of code are involved, with various developers having experience with that. Then when there is one issue 'does not display correctly' that is not as helpful as we, mere users, could make it :) Do you wish that I should open a new bug with a different title, using the same attachments so you can fix the problem? Various possibilities, but sort of logic is: - change the title of this issue for one bug, and reopen; - create new issue(s) for other bug(s); you may refer to the same attachment, but pls mention page of problem you may also refer to new issues in this start issue. [...] Perhaps you can suggest a new title of your liking that will allow a speedy resolution to the problem, speady resolution is hard to guarantee, but the clearer one singel bug, the easier for the busy devs to pick it out! (Of course, what I kindly aks you to do with description, splitting could be done by many, e.g. by me too. But failing enough spare time .. ;) ) Hope this is clear enough now. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 55266] FORMATTING: Some cell borders (double line) don't work
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55266 --- Comment #7 from Carsten Hütter carsten.huet...@gmx.de --- Bug is still present in LO 4.0.4. In fact, only the first three border styles are usable (simple line, dotted line, dashed line). 4th style looks like a copy of Nr. 1, but produces no border. No. 5 looks like another simple line. The options window's prewiew shows a simple line, much broader than expected; print shows something you would expect when choosing No. 8 (double line, narrow at the top and left side; broad at the bottom and right side). No. 6 produces another empty border. No. 7 looks like a double line, but produces a broad simple line. No. 8 produces a border similar to No. 5, but the wite space is much too narrow to be seen with a usual border width and print size. It gets even more irritating with a larger width. All of a sudden, you get 6 more border styles, each of the previews barely seems to correspond to the print result. In short: It's all screwed up. I don't need no fancy new features. I just want the simple things work. Like cell borders, for example. Please, please, please, debug the cell's borders source code. Please... https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66860 --- Comment #2 from Nick Bowler nbow...@draconx.ca --- Just to clarify: the 255 character case is the filename length limit of the filesystem (really 255 bytes). So the copy presumably fails in this case because appending a period to a 255-byte filename results in a 256-byte filename which cannot be created.
