Timefield in a tablecontrol is limited to 1 second, in a normal control to 0
second

The bug doesn't appear only in a tablecontrol. It could be also found in a
normal timefield.
All values of a timefield in a tablecontrol were shown as 00:00 when chosen
hours:minutes.
Values in a normal timefield don't show any value when you open the form.

OS: Linux (All)

Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Open the forms of https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=83080 . There
is a time-input in a timefield, which doesn't work since 4.0.0.0. beta1. The
formatted field works well in this version and other 4.0.*-versions. So you
could input a timestamp into a formatted field without any problem.

With version 4.1 the input of a timestamp in a formatted field works only for
the date, not for the time. Time is shown as 00:00.

There has been something changed in the API. Cuold be it is a hint for this
problem: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=83078

Have tested this bug. Seems to be a special with Linux and rpm.

The bug first appears in LO 4.0.0.0.beta2. The name of the database and the
name of the tables are shown with wrong characters. Also they are shown, as if
the tables are in two databases. If I try to open one of the tables the table
couldn't be opened.

When I try to connect to the database with LO 4.0.0.1 LO crashes immediately.

repeated
  Severity: normal

Screenshot, with red highlighting around the duplicated parts

In the Math component, there is a new sidebar that contains various
mathematical expressions (and duplicates the functionality of the Elements
panel).

In the Operators panel of this sidebar, all elements seem to be endlessly
repeated. See screenshot.

I would expect all those items to be only there once.

Using LibreOffice 4.1.0.4 (x86) on Windows 7 (also x86).

Tested on Ukrainian and USA standards/interface

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Calc and it's IDE
2. Paste the following example. The following comments shows current answers:

Sub Example
Print val(-3.14e2) '-314
Print val(-3.14e-2) '-3,14E-02

4. Run it

In terms of icons and what folder - if someone just makes some icons for me
that fit the general theme (Galaxy) I can probably start with that.

If someone is willing to look around here, they should be able to find icons

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66792] UI ENHANCEMENT: Add a drop-down toolbar button to select font styles

2013-07-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66792

--- Comment #5 from Stefan Knorr (astron) heinzless...@gmail.com ---
Well, this is indeed useful, especially for everyone working with professional
fonts. Otoh, most fonts still ship with Regular/Bold/Italic/Bold Italic only,
for which we have buttons already.

Personally, it always pains me to see that I have ~10 entries for Univers alone
in my font picker (which I have in a various weights/condensations). But I have
a thing for fonts, most people don't.

As for the resolution, maybe it would make sense to complement the
Bold/Italic/Underlined buttons with fourth buttons for more style that would
pop open a menu to choose from..?
I am not so fond of your mockups, Emir, as they would create an odd look
together with scrollbars and require quite complicated widgets (which never
looks good in LibreOffice).

Right, ideally, we would want icons text at the same time, but in
LibreOffice, afaik, these are mutually exclusive right now.
(CCing Kendy, who is currently mentoring a GSoC student implementing some
improvements to toolbars. Kendy, are you maybe working on this issue already?)

As long as we can't use both icons text, I'd propose to stay with text.

Fourth button makes sense.

For the mock-ups, I am not so fond of them either, I just put them together to
give an idea of how it would look. Plus, it would require the implementation of
native drop-down menus, or custom menus. Of course if someone would come up
with a nicer mock-up, always welcome.

English(USA).

I have to correct a previous assertion. The three hyphen --- em-dash *does*
work if I remove the double hyphen --- en-dash option. Apparently, Libre
doesn't record changes in the dialog windows for Options or Autocorrect until
they're closed.

Isn't it high time for an APPLY button?

Anyway, --- to em-dash works, but now I have no option for -- to en-dash. I
think my first supposition was correct, somewhere along the line a developer
changed how Libre autocorrects. It sees the first two hyphens and now ignores
the third.

What version of Libre are you using and what language?

If not, let me add my 2 cents...

My best idea would be to check for the various paths that were used for these
symbols in the past and try to come up with a similar UTF-8 representation for
that ruler (i.e. most of those elements could be replaced with simple bullets).
Is that possible somehow?
Otherwise, if that's not supported, we probably need to try with a simple rule.

(Btw, note that MSO has/had(?) a similarly stupid ruler functionality:

Since LO 4, paragraph style edition UI has been modified and there is several
glitches to fix. The dialog UI looks like a draft.

The style dialog has been stretched vertically, creating a lot of unused spaces
and on several tabs widgets had been compressed in shrunk spaces, creating more
unused spaces. This is particularly visible on the tab Position.

On tab Organizer, the bottom lines of drop-down lists are not visible.

See screenshot attached.

These glitches are particularly visible on Windows, a little less on Linux.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67259] PDF: Charts in Writer documents do not refresh to represent new data in generated PDF

2013-07-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67259

--- Comment #3 from Brandon Tylke brandon.ty...@lauren.com ---
Hi Cor,

The issue isn't actually with the chart placement, but what the chart is
displaying. If the charts on your screen have $month_qtr$ in the chart title,
it is incorrect. The first chart title should be 'Categories - Current Quarter
1'. Skew the chart slightly and your will see a completely different, but
correct, chart. I opened the example document on a Windows 7 box in
LibreOffice 3.5.5.3 and it exhibits the same behavior.

Thank you for your time.
 - Brandon

Please see the pointer to know what is the quick buttons which I am talking
about.

Quick buttons in Slide Pane is a good feature in 3.6 series.

Users hover the mouse over one slide in Slide Pane and the qick buttons show.
The quick buttons are Start Slide Show, Hide Slide and Duplicate Slide.

I have snapshoted the Quick buttons in 3.6 as an attachment to prove that they
once existed.

I think this is a regression of LibreOffice, please consider to add it back.

I've run into a possibly related problem. In Libre Office Impress, I cut and
pasted a block of text. Then I copied several drawing objects (lines, text,
filled circles, etc.) from an Inkscape canvas and tried to paste them into a
different canvas. However, what got pasted was the block of text from Impress.
Somehow Inkscape was unable to replace the content of the clipboard.

I'm using Inkscape 0.48 and Libre Office 3.5.4.2 under Debian 7.0.

Large odt plain-text with spread out comments

Hi all,

I have been experiencing this minor bug with LibreOffice Writer for some time
now (I have listed it on the most recent major release, but it was also present
on all versions past 4.0 and on 3.6 also, further back I can not recall).

There is a two sided element to the bug, but I am fairly confident both are
coming from the same issue so I will put both in this report.

The fist is this: when editing a large .odt file, which has comments spread out
throughout, only comments in close proximity in file layout to where the cursor
is currently set show up in the navigator until one has scrolled past other
comments.

The example file allows me to produce the bug. The content is a plain-text
rendering of english Wikipedia's England article, as of today.
To reproduce bug, follow these steps:
-Open the example file.
-Place cursor on page 1 (anywhere).
-Press F5, and in the Comments section (expand if needed) note how many
comments are present, what they are.
-Scroll down to the last page of the document.
-The very last comment I have included in the example file is Test Comment 2.
Note how this does not show in the navigator, nor any of the intermediate
comments (which are all Com) and how, as you scroll down, or if you click in
one of the missing comments, it appears in the navigator.

The second is this : in similar large odt with coms, when searching for a
comment that is not close to the cursor before having scrolled over said
comment it is unfindable.
Again, this can be reproduced with the example file:
-Open the example file.
-Open search bar (Cmd + F on a Mac).
-Type the text of the very last comment : Test Comment 2 (non case
sensitive), and hit return.
-Writer reports the text cannot be found, asks if you wish to search from the
beginning, and even if you answer yes, cannot find the text despite its
presence.
-For the sake of checking that other comments are searchable, search for Test
comment 1, which is on page 1, and should be found with no problem.
-Finally, scroll down to the last page, and search again for Test Comment 2,
which this time, writer succeeds in finding.

I will make one comment right now to save time: I do not think this is related
to the file discovery operation. A simple answer could be: the comments to
not appear in search or navigator because writer has not finished parsing the
file. Even when it has been open for hours, the same behaviour can still be
noted. In the case of the example file, navigator, after the discovering phase,
can still only see the comment Test Comment 1 from page 1, for instance.
Likewise, the search for Test Comment 2 fails even after the file has been
open for a long period of time, and CPU usage from writer is idle (showing that
the file discovery is done, since otherwise writer uses quite a bit of CPU for
this particular task).

I'm available to answer any questions or to perform other checks if needed.
Thanks for a great product guys!
Regards,
Mark.

Haha... good old bugzilla has make all my Comment #s into links... of course,
this was unintentional, and has no importance in the bug :)

--- Comment #3 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com ---
That's rather an odd 'XLS' file:

$ file /demo/OOo/vba/Gartner.xls
/demo/OOo/vba/Gartner.xls: Composite Document File V2 Document, Little Endian,
Os: Windows, Version 5.1, Code page: 1252, Title: New York 4pm Closing Rates
for Friday, February 27, 2004, Last Saved By: WSteinle, Name of Creating
Application: Microsoft Excel, Last Printed: Sat Feb 14 04:06:27 2004, Create
Time/Date: Fri Sep 13 14:52:16 2002, Last Saved Time/Date: Fri Mar 5 22:59:24
2004, Security: 1

$ file /tmp/TESTFILE.XLS
/tmp/TESTFILE.XLS: data

so 'file' doesn't sniff/detect it, it doesn't look like an OLE2 structured
storage file. Where did you get this XLS file from ?

Then again perhaps it's a good sign that we get a general I/O error - since at
least we attempt to load it :-)

Kohei - any thoughts ?

 Hi Mateusz,

Can you pls try this one?

 sub test67254
  msgbox  test 67254 ', Collate:= _
 End Sub
 end sub

It behaves as expected for me: compains about the extra Sub end
Remark that, and all is fine...

Hi Cor,

Tanks for checking.
Your script executes well in my LO, without complaining about an extra line.
With two 'end sub' lines. So I guess my version still has a bug.

My OS: Windows 7 Professional.
Language: Polish

LO version: 4.0.4.2 (Build ID: 9e9821abd0ffdbc09cd8c52eaa574fa09eb08f2)
Polish language version.

Regards,
Mateusz

The bullets (and the lines?, but i did not test that ) are saved in the odt

Now the only problem is to find the bullets if you removed your old version ;)

If it's just text - like the image I showed in the link I provided - the
toolbar is basically done. I'll try to add at least accept/reject all and then
it would be done with text.

The interesting thing is - there's an extension for this already but I tried
installing it and it failed

last email to me said to uninstall previous version. That was done long
before I ever tried to do the new install. I've gone through each step on
your install sheet with out any success. One of the main problems is you say
to do something and to expect certain results or open something and what you
say should occur doesn't. This lapton is a 32 bit system with linux mint 14.
How do I get the new Libreoffice installed?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67410] VoiceOver does not provide typing or cursor movement echo in text

2013-07-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67410

--- Comment #1 from Boris Dušek m...@dusek.me ---
I found that while the libreoffice code (process) does post the
NSAccessibility{SelectedText,Value}ChangedNotification on the right element
using the NSAccessibilityPostNotification function, an outside process
listening to the AX{{SelectedText,Value}Changed notifications (using the
ApplicationServices.framework) does not receive these notifications (I wrote a
testing utility to listen to such notifications - it did not see these
notifications but saw other notifications without a problem).

I have not yet pin-pointed the cause of this, just have some unverified
speculations.
