Is so ridiculously laughable - it has to be a joke - right ? :-) The LibreOffice project is committed to being the most awesome tool of choice for every language locale, everywhere - including for Catalan (of course). Also - Urmas frequently files some great locale specific bugs vs. his (non-English) language many of which have even been fixed I think :-) so ... lets not get over-excited here. Urmas - it would be better to label ironic, or humerous comments as/when you make them in some way that significantly reduces your chances of being mis-understood :-) At least, that's my take. Oh - and patches to fix this - are most welcome. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69270] New: FORMATTING: Croping scaled SVG images does not work properly [Regression]
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69270 Priority: medium Bug ID: 69270 Keywords: regression Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FORMATTING: Croping scaled SVG images does not work properly [Regression] Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: bvit...@yahoo.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.0.0.3 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 85718 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=85718action=edit Example document with inserted SVG picture, SVG picture itself and screenshots of the document and crop settings in various versions of LO Writer. Problem description: Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the Front_page.odt document found in attached zip archive. Current behavior: As of version 4.0.x of LO Writer, inserted SVG pictures are not croped properly if scaled. They are croped properly only if left in original scaling. Also, it seems only SVG pictures are affected, or maybe only vector images, because inserted PNG pictures do not exhibit this behavior. In attached zip archive you will find screenshots of Front_page.odt file as it is displayed in LO Writer 3.6.7, 4.0.5 and 4.1.1 along with screenshots of settings in Crop dialog. The document is correctly displayed only in version 3.6.7 of LO Writer. Later versions display it incorrectly. Version 4.1.1 of LO Writer additionally displays the picture in color instead of light gray which is another bug I'll report separately. It seems as if the order of operations - croping and scaling - is reversed in 4.0.x and later versions. Croping is done after upscaling so croping amount of, for example, 0.5cm is relative to upscaled size of the picture, for example 15x15cm. On the other hand, in version 3.6.7 croping amount is relative to original size of the picture (around 2x2cm) and upscaling is done after croping. The problem with versions 4.0.x and later is that they show the same croping preview (in Crop dialog) as version 3.6.7 but document is displayed differently than what is shown in the preview. Additionally, croping values in 4.0.x and later can not be larger than 2cm or so because that is the original size of the picture. Expected behavior: LO Writer versions 4.0.x and later should display the attached document the same way as version 3.6.7. I think that the native connector should work in 4.1. I have switched back and forth between the JDBC, ODBC, and Native connectors in the past, the last one definitely being the one which works best. Also, why shouldn't it be worth the effort to come up with one for 4.1, if this has been possible for previous versions Because it takes time and effort, sometimes fraught with frustration, and then doesn't always work as expected, so those volunteers doing it say, what the h***, I'll just wait for the Linux distros to bring it out... Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the Front_page.odt document found in attached zip archive. Current behavior: In version 4.1.1 of LO Writer the picture is displayed in color instead of light gray. Create/Open a spreadsheet with columns containing cells that vary in width. 2. Right-click on the column header and select Optimal Column Width At this point Calc simply makes the column as big as the biggest non-spaced string of characters. Expected behaviour: According to the specification, The optimal column width depends on the longest entry within a column. I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Intel). I downloaded and installed LO shortly after its release: Mac OS X (Intel), version 4.1.1, English (US). When I started the application, it crashed.
