[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69162] Other: Cmd-arrow and Opt-arrow in query design view crashes LibreOffice

2013-09-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #3 from Julien Nabet serval2...@yahoo.fr ---
On Mac 10.7.5 and LO 4.1.1.2, I don't reproduce this.

What LO version do you use? Could you give a try the last one?
If you still reproduce this, could you rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Mac_OS_X) and try again?

Yes - this is under LO 4.1.1.2. (Build ID:
7e4286b58adc75a14f6d83f53a03b6c11fa2903)

I can reproduce with 10.7.5 and 10.8.4. Both US and Dvorak keyboard layouts.

I tried on two different computers with completely different accounts and clean
LO profiles.

You should create multiple version of pre-drawn shapes each one with it's
localized name... IMHO is not worth it. I propose to set status to WONTFIX

I would be happy to localize predrawn images, so each language that wants it
can have it. Since not all languages have localized the name of Fontwork, this
means it could be used by a quarter of supported languages. This would not make
the packages much bigger, I guess. Why not allow localization?

Of course, if even this kind of implementation requires a lot of work, I
understand. But I do not see it appropriate as WONTFIX. It is a bug. And it
isn't a totally bogus one.

I have created the attached file in which I formatted some cells. I save it in

When I open the same file in 4.1.1.2, the borders of the cell are dotted.
Reviewing the cell-format (Format=Cell=Border) it shows some kind of custom
borders, not listed...

Since I have many sheets marked like this, I can barely work with the new

 Should

And did you really save it as a doc file in LO? And have you tried it with a

 are you using?

Sorry for the inconvenience, but to reproduce your bug as a QA guy, who has no

And the clearer the steps to reproduce, the better we can do our work ... ;)

The character U+00B7 cannot be used in identifiers. That is the present
design and if you want it changed, open a separate enhancement bug.

If the Catalan language is not compatible with computers, that isn't
 computers' problem.

I will make sure the BoD of The Document Foundation and the MC is aware of this
totally unacceptable comment.

Currently LibreOffice has a UI string wich only can have alphanum characters. I
know that's enough for English and other 'big' and 'known' languages, but IMHO
such requirement is a poor i18n design.

See, for instance, UAX #29 Unicode text segmentation algorithm and its word
boundaries section. Defining what is a word can be something really
difficult.

Hi guys,

I think we need to relax a bit; this comment:

If the Catalan language is not compatible with computers,
 that isn't computers' problem.

Is so ridiculously laughable - it has to be a joke - right ? :-) The
LibreOffice project is committed to being the most awesome tool of choice for
every language locale, everywhere - including for Catalan (of course).

Also - Urmas frequently files some great locale specific bugs vs. his
(non-English) language many of which have even been fixed I think :-) so ...
lets not get over-excited here.

Urmas - it would be better to label ironic, or humerous comments as/when you
make them in some way that significantly reduces your chances of being
mis-understood :-)

At least, that's my take. Oh - and patches to fix this - are most welcome.

Thanks !

Doc sample file that can not be opened.

Dear Sirs,

We have a CRM software that generates rtf-doc files, however the files
generated could not be opened by Libreoffice.

We receive an error dialog box says, I/O error.

Would you please help to solve this problem?

We were using openoffice.org derivative Oxygen Office Professional and it
opened the files without any problems.

I tried the Libreoffice.org 4.1.1.2 and saw that it opened a docx file that I
test to see the compatibility. So I chose to try using Libreoffice.org however,
it turned out to be incompatible with 97-2003 doc file produced by the CRM
software.

If you can solve this , we will be able to use Libreoffice.org ...

Please find a sample file as attached.

Thanks and Regards,
Burak Ural

(probably because CoreText changes).

Bug 69254 maybe also related, and maybe also Bug 67808 Bug 67863.

change it at ToolsOptionsLibreOffice WriterAutomatic LegendImage, but
each new version or subversion restore the original profile.

I use the function first page footer in my ODT document
(http://vmiklos.hu/blog/lo-firstpage-headerfooter.html).

I uncheck the same content on the first page option. I can change footer
(delete some text and page number..) for the first page without changing it on
the others. That's OK.
But if I save/close/reopen my odt file, all the footers are like the first, aka
empty ! Is it normal ?
Is it a real bug or a function used improperly from me ?
Thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69270] New: FORMATTING: Croping scaled SVG images does not work properly [Regression]

2013-09-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69270

Summary: FORMATTING: Croping scaled SVG images does not work
properly [Regression]
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: bvit...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 85718
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=85718action=edit
Example document with inserted SVG picture, SVG picture itself and screenshots
of the document and crop settings in various versions of LO Writer.

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the Front_page.odt document found in attached zip archive.

Current behavior:

As of version 4.0.x of LO Writer, inserted SVG pictures are not croped properly
if scaled. They are croped properly only if left in original scaling. Also, it
seems only SVG pictures are affected, or maybe only vector images, because
inserted PNG pictures do not exhibit this behavior.

In attached zip archive you will find screenshots of Front_page.odt file as
it is displayed in LO Writer 3.6.7, 4.0.5 and 4.1.1 along with screenshots of
settings in Crop dialog. The document is correctly displayed only in version
3.6.7 of LO Writer. Later versions display it incorrectly. Version 4.1.1 of LO
Writer additionally displays the picture in color instead of light gray which
is another bug I'll report separately.

It seems as if the order of operations - croping and scaling - is reversed in
4.0.x and later versions. Croping is done after upscaling so croping amount of,
for example, 0.5cm is relative to upscaled size of the picture, for example
15x15cm. On the other hand, in version 3.6.7 croping amount is relative to
original size of the picture (around 2x2cm) and upscaling is done after
croping. The problem with versions 4.0.x and later is that they show the same
croping preview (in Crop dialog) as version 3.6.7 but document is displayed
differently than what is shown in the preview. Additionally, croping values in
4.0.x and later can not be larger than 2cm or so because that is the original
size of the picture.

Expected behavior:

LO Writer versions 4.0.x and later should display the attached document the
same way as version 3.6.7.
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.0.0.3 release
Last worked in: 3.6.7.2 release

(In reply to comment #2)
Even though it may be difficult to come up with a viable solution
(unfortunately I haven't the time to come up with one myself!) I think that
the native connector should work in 4.1. I have switched back and forth
between the JDBC, ODBC, and Native connectors in the past, the last one
definitely being the one which works best. Also, why shouldn't it be worth
the effort to come up with one for 4.1, if this has been possible for
 previous versions

Because it takes time and effort, sometimes fraught with frustration, and then
doesn't always work as expected, so those volunteers doing it say, what the
h***, I'll just wait for the Linux distros to bring it out...

Particular SVG picture showing the regression and screenshots

Problem description:

As of version 4.1.1 (possibly earlier) SVG picture Background - Gray.svg,
found in attached zip archive, is not displayed correctly when inserted in LO
Writer document.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the Front_page.odt document found in attached zip archive.

Current behavior:

In version 4.1.1 of LO Writer the picture is displayed in color instead of
light gray. The light gray version of the picture was done by coloring
colored version of the picture in light gray using Inkscape. As a result of
that, light gray color was defined explicitly in style= but the original
color was left defined in class=. Here is an example from attached SVG:

circle
   ...
   style=fill:#e8e8e8;fill-opacity:1

   class=fil24
/

where class fil24 is defined as:

.fil24 {fill:#2F6864}

In attached zip archive you will find screenshots of the document displayed in
LO Writer version 4.0.5 and 4.1.1. It seems that class= is taking precedence
over style= so picture is displayed colored instead of light gray.

The SVG picture is displayed correctly (light gray) in version 4.1.1 of LO Draw
so only Writer is affected

Expected behavior:

Attached SVG picture should be displayed light gray.

determine what could have been the change that fixed this bug.

Can someone else also confirm this issue fixed?

Attached is a very simple spreadsheet where you can apply the above and see the
buggy behaviour

Problem description:
When I apply Optimal column width to a column, it does not apply it correctly,
going down to the width of the longest non-spaced string of characters (i.e.
word, number, date...), rather than the longest entry within the column

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create/Open a spreadsheet with columns containing cells that vary in width.
2. Right-click on the column header and select Optimal Column Width

At this point Calc simply makes the column as big as the biggest non-spaced
string of characters.

Expected behaviour:
According to the specification, The optimal column width depends on the
longest entry within a column. Therefore, the expected behaviour is that the
column should resize to accommodate the cell with the longest entry.

LO 4.1.1 crash log on Mac OS X 10.5.8

I may have the same problem.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Intel). I downloaded and installed LO shortly
after its release: Mac OS X (Intel), version 4.1.1, English (US). When I
started the application, it crashed.

So I downloaded and installed 4.0.5, and had no problem using that.

I now have removed LO from the Applications and have both versions installed on
my desktop (renamed to reflect version). I can still use 4.0.5, and 4.1.1
crashes.

Romans questionnaire:
1) Do you have any accesibility features enabled?
No

2) Do you have installed any window management/user interface
utilities/apps/control panels/extensions?
No

3) And/or do you use any mouse cursor/pointer utility?
Yes, I have Logitech Control Center to speed up my mouse.

I've attached my crash log, which looks similar to Steve Piercy' crash log and
seems to confirm the post from Dan.

Hi yagolf, thanks for reporting.

The issue is that cell format alignment is set up to wrap text automatically.
Un-marking wrap option make Optimal column with works properly.

The use of styles is a good way when several cell have the same format.

Changed status to resolved notabug, please if you are not agree reopen it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69277] New: Unable to use libre office three due to page size which is rtoo small and uncorrectible

2013-09-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69277

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69277
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Unable to use libre office three due to page size
which is rtoo small and uncorrectible
  Severity: blocker
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: fs...@att.net
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

12.04 Ubuntu though 12.10 down loaded but not installed to best determination
due to password not being accepted for authentication.

Problem is the writing field for Office is about 1 x 1.5 and can't be
enlarged thus making it useless. There is nothing the frame size responds to.
Never had this problem before. This keeps me from writing anything including
legal work thus making me switch computers.

Need help on resetting passwords. I had one pword which was accepted in wto
areas but not accepted in a third - which I guess is OK. Maybe I should go to
three different Pwords but that is a mess in trying to remember them.

fsp.

Mariosv, thanks for the tip on doing a hard recalc (Ctrl+Shift+F9). I
uninstalled 4.1.1.2 and reinstalled one of the 4.0 versions, which solved
the problem. Later I will try reinstalling 4.1.1.2 and using your hard
recalc suggestion.

 Hi actuaryfrank, thanks for reporting.

Sure you need to do a hard recalc [Ctrl+Shift+F9].
 Please take a look to:https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Recalculate
