https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61683 --- Comment #4 from João Paulo joaopauloag-freedesk...@yahoo.com.br --- (In reply to comment #3) Why that be an issue? Office software will never realistically have any problems due to 2GB memory limit. Actually, there are spreadsheets and databases that are big enough to benefit from more memory already. Maybe that should be a separate bug report. It's the same in Linux on my system with the native driver. I think all the special settings for PostgreSQL were made in the native driver. Apple’s accessibility features like “VoiceOver” or “Enable access for assistive devices”, which get enabled in “System Preferences Universal Access”, are known to cause many crashes and freezes in LibreOffice. So please try to disable any accesibility features, then check if the problem is still reproducible. 2) Do you have installed any window management/user interface utilities/apps/control panels/extensions for Mac OS X like * AquaSnap* BetterSnapTool * BetterTouchTool * Breeze * Cinch * Divvy * DoublePane * Flexiglass * HyperDock * iSnap * Moom* RightZoom * ShiftIt * SizeUp * SizeWell* Spectacle * Stay* TileWindows * WindowTidy * Flavours (from flavours.interacto.net) ... or something similar? And/or do you use any mouse cursor/pointer utility, i.e. some little application or control panel etc. which animates or replaces etc. the mouse curser/pointer, like * LazyMouse? And/or do you use any special software which could be related to accessibility stuff, e.g. a screen reader, screen magnifier, speech recognition software, a text-to-speech (dictation) application, or similar? All these and many similar utilities rely heavily on Mac OS accessibility features and therefore can cause LibreOffice to crash or freeze. So please check if you have installed any utility of this kind and try to disable it (or to add LibreOffice to the list of excluded applications for the utility, if there is such a thing). So please check these possibilities, if any of them helps to make the crash go away, and report the results here. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69307] BASIC: No way to interrupt a running macro
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69307 Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #1 from Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com --- Well, actually there is a way to stop running macro. In my system, with default settings, the corresponding combination is Shift+Ctrl+Q. To test, you may create a macro with this: while true wend and run it. It will run in background, but if you look into IDE, you will see that it runs. If you use the combination, a dialog pops up saying that macro has been stopped. Your case is an edge case. The msgbox routine creates a modal dialog that intercepts all input and has no special processing of hotkeys. So, whatever you press while the message box is up, it will not reach LO. When you close the message box, another one pops up immediately, giving you no time to use the hotkeys. If you have no other LO windows open at the moment, you will have to close all the boxes. But I doubt that this is a real-life issue. If you develop the macro, and have IDE open, you may use its controls to stop the macro. Other LO windows are not blocked by the message boxes, so the hotkey will stop it. I close it as NOTABUG. But if you feel that it is incorrect, please reopen it. Don't forget to describe your point. You may, for instance, want to make this an enhancement request to enable the modal dialog boxes to process the macro-terminating hotkeys. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Not really. For that to be any use I'd need to know the problem was due to the latest upgrade. I ran into it when changing from OpenOffice. (Having fixed my spreadsheet for LibreOffice, it is now unusable on another computer with OpenOffice). Rather than reading the entire change history of LibreOffice since it forked, I looked for documentation of the current version. I suspect this is a normal response. The documentation of the current version contains/contained the change. The documentation on the website was outdated... So, unless you have another specific suggestion, I'll consider that part closed since the documentation on the website is updated now. The on-line one apparently is from an older version... Good point. I'm going to find out how to get it updated. Doing that automatically would be a very good idea. As would having older versions available for those behind the bleeding edge. I agree. I started the internal discussions to make that happen: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice/2013-September/055741.html http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice/2013-September/055740.html And would it have been *so* much extra work to provide CDateToDateStruct and CDateFromDateStruct functions? Not sure what you mean. Sorry, I'm using the built-in BASIC, which has CDateToISO and CDateFromISO functions for convenience in cases like this used to be. I see. I open it without problems, and while the first page indeed looks differently, it is to be expected, according to standards (GOST in Russia, I assume you use the same or similar standards in Ukraine). The first page has a larger main stamp, and additional fields at the top left corner of the page. You imply that everyone is familiar with the standards you use, but it is not so, given that this is international project. Possibly you have some other issue with it, but this is unclear. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69382] New: FILEOPEN: microsoft's doc and docx formats check document links during load and save, even if links are set to manual
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69382 Priority: medium Bug ID: 69382 Keywords: regression Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FILEOPEN: microsoft's doc and docx formats check document links during load and save, even if links are set to manual Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: alex.ufim+li...@gmail.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: unspecified Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Problem description: If .doc or .docx document contains links, i.e. embedded graphics, then trying to open it in libreoffice checks these external links, even if they are set to 'manual'. As a result, opening a 50 page .doc file with 5 embedded images could take a few minutes, during which LibreOffice Writer is unresponsive. Steps to reproduce: 1. create a libreoffice document, embed a few images as manual links from a temporary web server. save the document as .doc and .odf 2. turn off temporary web server in such a way that libreoffice loses connection to it, not gets 'resource not found' right away 3. open the .odf document and see it behaves as expected. 4. open the .doc file and see it takes a while to open until links time out. 5. navigate to 'edit - links' in the .doc file, remove them by selecting all the links and clicking 'break link'. 6. save file and reopen - it reopens fast. 3a: use traffic snooper like wireshark or tcpdump to confirm requests to 3rd party sites are being made and they are the links specified in 'edit-links' of the document. Current behavior: MS document converter downloads external document links even if links are specifically have updates set to 'manual'. With broken links and timeouts document can take a significant amount of time to open (minutes), during which LO is unresponsive. Expected behavior: MS document converter should not attempt to check document links if they are set to 'manual'. As we know it, green maximise window button on OS X windows enlarges the window to show all contents of the documents, not more. So, for example if we have a rather small Safari window, clicking the green button will maximise the window 'only' enough to show the contents of the website. In LO it is like this: 1. We have a small LO windows - attachment 1 2. When pressed green button, it immediately maximises to cover the whole screen, regardless of the page zoom level. - attachment 2 3. Expected behaviour: LO should adjust the window size depending on the page zoom level. - see attachment 3 and 4. I forgot the steps you mentionned. I tryed to to this with the menu-bar table There you cannot format the cell or table, only the whole cell and not only one side, but you should be able. If you go allways the way with properties, the menu-bar table is needless. I tryed to do the same with LO 4.1.1.2 on Kubuntu with the same result. So imho you should or retire the menu-bar or repair this. (please) Now: I opened a new document, inserted a table (5x9) and tryed to formatt the cell in the middle. I wanted to delete the borders (colored in black) I was able to do this only on 2 sides. Or I'm that stupid that I do not understand the proceeding or there is really a problem. I'll retry: Success: select a cell, open the dialogue:table properties, make all sides grey (even if there are only two sides shown), select the side I want, change the style of the border. Hurray. But for each cell I have to do the same procedure (if they are not contiguous)... And the easier way with the menu-bar doesn't work ... Then LO was updated to version 4.1 and I got on pages 2 and 3 in empty cells value Поз. обозначение. Compare attached invertor_normal.pdf and invertor_wrong.pdf and you will understand about I tell. Sorry for my english and thank you for help. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
