[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61683] 64-bit version of LibreOffice on Windows

2013-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Why that be an issue? Office software will never realistically have any
problems due to 2GB memory limit.

Actually, there are spreadsheets and databases that are big enough to benefit
from more memory already.

And I can see presentations using large pictures and movies becoming common.

Maybe texts doesn't need so much memory yet, but Microsoft Word 2010 and newer
already have 64 bit versions, so why not a 64 bit version for LibreOffice?

I thought the request to make toolbar background gray was already reported?

I think you are referring to Bug 56046, which consists only changing the
toolbar background colour, and overall theme colours in general.

But this issue is about using native code to draw toolbar background, and
changing the UI style.

You are using a different driver on a different OS. This bug report is for
LibreOffice on Mac OS X, using the native SDBC driver.

Using the ODBC driver on Linux is a different story.

I have first tested with the native SDBC driver, then tested with ODBC. I
haven't called it native but direct connection. Only difference is the
platform.

On a side note, I noticed that the Advanced settings menu entry is greyed

It's the same in Linux on my system with the native driver. I think all the
special settings for PostgreSQL were made in the native driver. It doesn't need
any advanced settings. So the native driver with greyed out Advanced setting
produces the right code for PostgreSQL with OpenSUSE. When it produces the
wrong code its a problem of the driver ...

The problem also exists on Linux (Debian Squeeze, PostgreSQL 9.2, LibreOffice

Can confirm with LO 4.1.0.4, 4.1.1.2, 4.1.2.1 under Windows 7 (32-bit). CVS
file with xls suffix opens in Writer when opening using Start Center shortcut
or soffice.exe. This doesn't happen when opening from Calc, or double-clicking
in explorer (because in Windows it's associated with Calc, not with
soffice.exe). Same for TSV files (like in Bug 69290). In both cases it works
with 4.0.5.2 without problems.

Similar behavior can be observed with HTML file that has xls suffix. With
4.0.5.2 it opens in Calc, while with 4.1.2.1 it opens in Writer\Web. Can't test
that combination with 4.1.0\4.1.1 due to Bug 67699.

--- Comment #6 from Julien Nabet serval2...@yahoo.fr ---
dhorwood: thank you for your feedback

I'll quote the Roman's questionnaire which helped a lot in other bugtrackers:

 1) Do you have any accesibility features enabled? Apple’s accessibility
features like “VoiceOver” or “Enable access for assistive devices”, which get
enabled in “System Preferences Universal Access”, are known to cause many
crashes and freezes in LibreOffice. So please try to disable any accesibility
features, then check if the problem is still reproducible.

2) Do you have installed any window management/user interface
utilities/apps/control panels/extensions for Mac OS X like
   * AquaSnap* BetterSnapTool
   * BetterTouchTool * Breeze
   * Cinch   * Divvy
   * DoublePane  * Flexiglass
   * HyperDock   * iSnap
   * Moom* RightZoom
   * ShiftIt * SizeUp
   * SizeWell* Spectacle
   * Stay* TileWindows
   * WindowTidy  * Flavours (from flavours.interacto.net)
... or something similar?

And/or do you use any mouse cursor/pointer utility, i.e. some little
application or control panel etc. which animates or replaces etc. the mouse
curser/pointer, like
   * LazyMouse?

And/or do you use any special software which could be related to accessibility
stuff, e.g. a screen reader, screen magnifier, speech recognition software,
a text-to-speech (dictation) application, or similar?

All these and many similar utilities rely heavily on Mac OS accessibility
features and therefore can cause LibreOffice to crash or freeze. So please
check if you have installed any utility of this kind and try to disable it
(or to add LibreOffice to the list of excluded applications for the utility,
if there is such a thing).

So please check these possibilities, if any of them helps to make the crash go
away, and report the results here.

Cannot reproduce with LO 4.1.1.2 and 4.1.2.1 under Win7x64.

I create a new text document, add a table, select one cell, go to Table
Properties - Borders, there click all the borders that I want to stay as they
were so that they are greyed, then select the border I want to change and set
the desired parameters - OK. Everything works as expected.

I suppose that you missed the greying step. If so, please close this report,
otherwise please try again with a clear LO profile to make sure this is not a

Marks delimiting margins

Apparently, since the 3.5 version, border delimiting the page's margins has
been replaced with small marks at the corners of the page (see first
attachment). While this can be preferred over explicit border, as in older
versions, some users still prefer seeing the border. It is possible to see them
when by showing non-printable characters (see second attachment).

Would it be possible to add an option to enable this border while not showing
non-printable characters ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69307] BASIC: No way to interrupt a running macro

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69307

Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED
 Resolution|--- |NOTABUG

--- Comment #1 from Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com ---
Well, actually there is a way to stop running macro. In my system, with default
settings, the corresponding combination is Shift+Ctrl+Q.

To test, you may create a macro with this:

while true
wend

and run it. It will run in background, but if you look into IDE, you will see
that it runs. If you use the combination, a dialog pops up saying that macro
has been stopped.

Your case is an edge case. The msgbox routine creates a modal dialog that
intercepts all input and has no special processing of hotkeys. So, whatever you
press while the message box is up, it will not reach LO. When you close the
message box, another one pops up immediately, giving you no time to use the
hotkeys. If you have no other LO windows open at the moment, you will have to
close all the boxes. But I doubt that this is a real-life issue. If you develop
the macro, and have IDE open, you may use its controls to stop the macro. Other
LO windows are not blocked by the message boxes, so the hotkey will stop it.

I close it as NOTABUG. But if you feel that it is incorrect, please reopen it.
Don't forget to describe your point. You may, for instance, want to make this
an enhancement request to enable the modal dialog boxes to process the
macro-terminating hotkeys.

Isn't this inherited behaviour from OOo 3 ?

Or is this a regression over something that worked in previous versions of

I don't know. I discovered it in 4.1.1.2 only, but I did not use outer joins
in previous versions. We are makers of a point of sale solution that is based
on PostgreSQL, and we thought it would be nice if our customers could use

I think I found the problem but I'm not sure if this is how the product is
designed.

Draw an arrow;
Draw a line and cross the arrow.
Right click on the line and edit style
Change to something like a dashed line

The arrow will ALSO change.

Sorry... too much of a rush...

If I draw a third line and cross the previous two it will still show the dashed
line... if I then use the tool bar to alter the line style, the other two
remain as they were previously.

 OS|Windows (All) |All
 Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW
Version|unspecified |4.0.1.1 rc
   Keywords||regression

--- Comment #3 from Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com ---
Reproducible with LO 4.0.1.1 - 4.1.2.1 under Win7x64, and 4.1.1.2 under Ubuntu
13.04 x64.
Not reproducible with LO 3.6.x and earlier - regression. In those earlier
versions, the second column is inserted with near-zero width, and this persists
after save-and-reopen.
4.0.0.0.beta1 - in this version nothing is inserted from clipboard.
4.0.0.3 - the table is inserted from clipboard having all three columns, second
is a little narrower, third is a little wider.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new spreadsheet.
2. Put ones into A1,A2, twos into B1,B2, threes into C1,C2.
3. Right-click the B column, click Hide in context menu.
4. Select range A1:C2, copy to clipboard.
5. Create a new Text Document.
6. Edit-Paste Special-Formatted text [RTF]. Note that the table have two
columns, second has 3 in its cells.
7. Save, close and reopen the text document.

Expected: the table should have two columns, with threes in the second column.

Actual: the table has twos in the second column.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69373] New: Slide sorter, slides per row not persistent

2013-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69373

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69373
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Slide sorter, slides per row not persistent
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mvanr...@inf.ed.ac.uk
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.1.2 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

Hi

Found the following odd bug:

-OPen two presentations.
- Switch in one window to slide sorter view.
- change the number of slides per row (say, from 3 to 4).
- focus temporarily on the other presentation and then focus back to the
original window.
Now the number of slides per row displayed resets back to the value before I
changed it (e.g. 3) and the display updates.

(focus under mouse in my case)

 please document
changes that will break code in a prominent and appropriate place

 Like
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.1#Changes_to_UNO_APIs ?

Not really. For that to be any use I'd need to know the problem was due to
the latest upgrade. I ran into it when changing from OpenOffice. (Having
fixed my spreadsheet for LibreOffice, it is now unusable on another computer
with OpenOffice). Rather than reading the entire change history of
LibreOffice since it forked, I looked for documentation of the current
version. I suspect this is a normal response.

The documentation of the current version contains/contained the change.
The documentation on the website was outdated... So, unless you have another
specific suggestion, I'll consider that part closed since the documentation
on the website is updated now.

The on-line one apparently is from an older version... Good point. I'm going
to find out how to get it updated.

Doing that automatically would be a very good idea. As would having older
versions available for those behind the bleeding edge.

I agree. I started the internal discussions to make that happen:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice/2013-September/055741.html
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice/2013-September/055740.html

And would it have been *so* much extra work to provide CDateToDateStruct and
 CDateFromDateStruct functions?

 Not sure what you mean.

Sorry, I'm using the built-in BASIC, which has CDateToISO and CDateFromISO
functions for convenience in cases like this used to be.

I see. I added the equivalents to/from the UNO structs as:

CDate(From|To)Uno(Date|Time|DateTime)

for LibreOffice 4.2 and 4.1.3

Created attachment 85857
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=85857action=edit
How it opens on my system (4.1.2.1 under Win7x64) - everything seem normal

1. Please don't use email to answer to the Bugzilla. This makes the issue
cluttered and creates bogus attachments. For example, your last reply have
created three attachments on your report page, two of them being simply
artifacts of emailing; and your message came with unnecessary quoting. Instead,
please use web interface to post to Bugzilla.

2. This is still unclear what is wrong with the file. I open it without
problems, and while the first page indeed looks differently, it is to be
expected, according to standards (GOST in Russia, I assume you use the same or
similar standards in Ukraine). The first page has a larger main stamp, and
additional fields at the top left corner of the page. You imply that everyone
is familiar with the standards you use, but it is not so, given that this is
international project.

Possibly you have some other issue with it, but this is unclear. Please add the
clear description of the exact position of the problem, in terms of cell
addresses and what should be there, and what is actually there. And add a
screenshot (or PDF) of incorrect view, with problem marked if possible, to be
able to compare.

3. Please describe why do you feel this to be wrong. How had this document been
created? Have you created it correctly, but later it unexpectedly turned wrong?
Or have you received it from someone else, and suspect that it shows wrong (in
which case this may be not a problem at all)? What exact steps lead to the
problem? Maybe a program crash, or some specific formatting, or program
upgrade? Have you tried this with different OS, or different LO versions, with
fresh LO profile, without LO extensions?

Please provide the necessary information here and set the status to UNCONFIRMED
again.

Thank you.

yes there are likely still some problems where the comments are interpreted
in an unintended way by doxygen but i'd prefer it if you just fix such
instances when you find them instead of filing bugs about them :)
can rebuild quickly with touch odk/docs/idl/Doxyfile make odk

I understood it as a bug in doxygen's IDL format support.

You seem to suggest we should change the .idl files instead.
If this is the case, sure, I'll be happy to just fix the
issues I find, but I don't have a clue what I'm supposed to
do in the .idl file to fix this one.

When using ODBC, need to disable Use Outer Join syntax '{ OJ }' in Advanced
Settings.

When using native / direct connexion, it is forcefully disabled by the driver
always and the UI to reenable it is disabled (because it would not make any
sense, it is guaranteed not to work). If it is not anymore disabled by the

The menu item Window - Zoom is missing. In most Mac apps, clicking this menu
item is equivalent to clicking the green button to toggle between
maximized/restored window size of the focused window.

I need this because I set a keyboard shortcut for All Applications with menu
item name Zoom and shortcut key cmd+m. This is because I never use minimize
window feature and decided to map its shortcut key to zoom instead as I
maximize most windows which are not already maximized.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69382] New: FILEOPEN: microsoft's doc and docx formats check document links during load and save, even if links are set to manual

2013-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69382

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69382
  Keywords: regression
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILEOPEN: microsoft's doc and docx formats check
document links during load and save, even if links are
set to manual
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: alex.ufim+li...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

If .doc or .docx document contains links, i.e. embedded graphics, then trying
to open it in libreoffice checks these external links, even if they are set to
'manual'. As a result, opening a 50 page .doc file with 5 embedded images could
take a few minutes, during which LibreOffice Writer is unresponsive.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create a libreoffice document, embed a few images as manual links from a
temporary web server. save the document as .doc and .odf
2. turn off temporary web server in such a way that libreoffice loses
connection to it, not gets 'resource not found' right away
3. open the .odf document and see it behaves as expected.
4. open the .doc file and see it takes a while to open until links time out.
5. navigate to 'edit - links' in the .doc file, remove them by selecting all
the links and clicking 'break link'.
6. save file and reopen - it reopens fast.

3a: use traffic snooper like wireshark or tcpdump to confirm requests to 3rd
party sites are being made and they are the links specified in 'edit-links' of
the document.

Current behavior:

MS document converter downloads external document links even if links are
specifically have updates set to 'manual'. With broken links and timeouts
document can take a significant amount of time to open (minutes), during which
LO is unresponsive.

Expected behavior:

MS document converter should not attempt to check document links if they are
set to 'manual'.

As someone who struggles with much of the documentation surrounding UNO (so
much so that I have almost given up on it), will the new routines be described
in the LO Basic Help?

The only way I have ever learned anything much about LO programming for Base is
from the Help, occasional forum posts, and documents such as Andrew Pitonyak's
guide from 2009.

I have noticed that the Help in some areas lags behind current releases by some
margin (Draw for instance), and wonder whether there is a rigorous process for
updating it when changes or additions are made. Will CDateToUnoDate etc (if I
have interpreted your syntax correctly) be documented there? If not, where
would I find it when I need it?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69383] New: Maximise Window Behaviour on OS X

2013-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69383

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69383
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Maximise Window Behaviour on OS X
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: emir_s...@msn.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: Inherited From OOo
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Hello,

I'd like to propose an enhancement request for the current Maximise Window
behaviour for LibreOffice on OS X.

As we know it, green maximise window button on OS X windows enlarges the window
to show all contents of the documents, not more. So, for example if we have a
rather small Safari window, clicking the green button will maximise the window
'only' enough to show the contents of the website.

In LO it is like this:

1. We have a small LO windows - attachment 1
2. When pressed green button, it immediately maximises to cover the whole
screen, regardless of the page zoom level. - attachment 2
3. Expected behaviour: LO should adjust the window size depending on the page
zoom level. - see attachment 3 and 4.

If someone wants to use LO full screen, they can either adjust the size
themselves or use the new OS X full screen feature.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69305] TABLE: Table formatting

Thank you for your comment.
I forgot the steps you mentionned. I tryed to to this with the menu-bar table
There you cannot format the cell or table, only the whole cell and not only one
side, but you should be able.
If you go allways the way with properties, the menu-bar table is needless.

I tryed to do the same with LO 4.1.1.2 on Kubuntu with the same result.
So imho you should or retire the menu-bar or repair this. (please)

Now:
I opened a new document, inserted a table (5x9) and tryed to formatt the cell
in the middle. I wanted to delete the borders (colored in black) I was able to
do this only on 2 sides. Or I'm that stupid that I do not understand the
proceeding or there is really a problem.
I'll retry:
Success: select a cell, open the dialogue:table properties, make all sides
grey (even if there are only two sides shown), select the side I want, change
the style of the border. Hurray.
But for each cell I have to do the same procedure (if they are not
contiguous)...

And the easier way with the menu-bar doesn't work ...

Ysn - please don't add a ton of people cc'ed on your bug reports, it's a good
way to just tick off people. Especially when you just reported the bug 13
minutes ago - let QA have a chance to get to the bug before specifically
bugging people about it.

Lastly if you are going to CC people please explain clearly why you chose those
people in a comment

This isn't our bug - it's an issue with FDO which we don't own, it's not on our
infra so we can't do anything about it. For now closing as WONTFIX but in the
future we may have some control over these types of things.

Thanks for the report

Single slide (extract) that shows a graphics only in the editor (at least here)

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create presentation
2. Add specific graphics
3. Press 'Slide Show'

Current behavior:
In Slide Show (and as PDF) these graphics just do not show up.

Expected behavior:
Presentation looks the same as 'Slide Show' and as PDF

I attach a file of a single slide that shows in the editor, but is bereft of
its graphics in Slide Show as well as when converted to PDF.
(This is a bug that I first noted about one year ago, but was hoping to see
solved in the meantime)

BTW - I'm one of the people with the most rights from TDF on FDO and I don't
have the ability to change the order. It'd take the FDO devs to change the code
- they are incredibly overworked and unlikely to tackle this. Like I said, in
the future this might change as we may have more control over our bug tracker

Please don't use email to answer to the Bugzilla. This makes the issue
 cluttered and creates bogus attachments.

Sorry for that.

Please describe why do you feel this to be wrong.

File invertor.ods was created in LO v4.0.2.2 on Ubuntu 13.04 32 bit and shows
in it normally. I opened this file in LO v4.0 on Windows XP 32 bit and all
shows normally also.
Then LO was updated to version 4.1 and I got on pages 2 and 3 in empty cells
value Поз. обозначение.
Compare attached invertor_normal.pdf and invertor_wrong.pdf and you will
understand about I tell.

Sorry for my english and thank you for help.
