--- Comment #2 from Kumāra kumara.bhik...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #1)
I wanted to say that the problem occurs starting from about 3.6.5.2, not
 only in that version.

The issue remains at 4.1.1.2.

Essentially, it used to be that LanguageTool can tell the end of a sentence
correctly all the time. After the change though, when there's a footnote after
a sentence, LT can only see the last word, the full-stop and the footnote
number as ONE word, e.g. important.12

This messes up the ability of LT to count the number of words in a sentence
correctly, because the counting would run to the next sentence.

I've changed the version to the first version this issue is noted (3.6.5.2).
The change in LibO should have happened sometime between 3.5.7.2 and 3.6.5.2.

OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: gdna7...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.2.1 rc

The format painter does not work. Instead of applying the formating it deletes
the cell contents.

Moreover, after copying with Ctrl. + C, Ctrl. +Shift +V is not available (and
the menu item paste special is gray)

Have not checked on Linux yet, if the behavior is the same.

OT: The page https://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/ does not show
links for this RC. Is this on purpose? It took me over two weeks to realize
that there is an RC for 4.1.2 available.

I stand corrected. When paste special does work, and you select e.g. format, it
pastes the formats, but overwrites the values, and the other way around. Paste
special in 4.1.2RC1 is a mess.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69305] TABLE: Table formatting

   Severity|normal |enhancement

--- Comment #3 from Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com ---
Well, I understand your point.

I find the table borders interface, that is present in LO now, very inefficient
and counter-intuitive, too. It takes quite an effort to understand how it is to
be used.

The toolbar isn't needless, though; it is just too simple. Its logic is to
create very basic borderings. I would be very glad, for instance, to see a kind
of border paintbrush tool, that could be activated, then its parameters
adjusted (like color, width and style), and then applied to specific borders
that I click...

But anyway, your issue is an enhancement request, and not very clear one.
Please be more specific regarding how do you see a better mode of operation:
i.e., describe a specific actions that should produce different results, or
propose some new commands that would do what you want. Without this, the
request sounds like I don't like the current way; make it better!

If the proposition is attractive enough, the chances are higher that some
developer will pick it and implement in a future version.

By the way, maybe the new sidebar (an experimental feature in LO 4.1) manages
it better? (I haven't checked myself.)

Thank you.

Cannot reproduce this with 4.1.0.4 and 4.1.2.1 under Win7x64. Maybe it's a
Linux-only problem?

However, you have not specified the sheets and cells where the problem is
visible. It's quite a complex document; maybe I just failed to find the place?
Most dates are on the Feiertage sheet; no Err:502 there.

The severity of this bug should be lowered, according to

Actually, you can.
Special term none is used instead of corresponding braces, brackets etc.

E.g., your example is written like this:

x'_i = left lbrace { stack{x_{i+3N/4},`i=0,...,N/4-1 #
x_{i-3N/4},`i=N/4,...,N-1} } right none

When trying to open a sdbc: URL, LibreOffice asks each driver in turn whether
it can handle this URL. My guess is that the firebird driver is asked before
the macab driver and the firebird-sdbc driver on Mac has problem that makes it
abort the whole LibreOffice before macab is tried.

Hi there, and this indeed sounds like a frustrating bug. Don't you have any
backup of the file?

Could you attach the file in question so further testing can be done. Where you
able to reproduce this problem with other files as well or only this single
file?

Can't confirm on OS X 10.8.5 and LO Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: f4d3954fc6106b3ae0ee16ab0fcde15d8cb945e3.

LO does not crash but still behaves strange when trying to navigate with tab +
arrow keys. I can tap through the options until I arrive at the document
selection but then I can not navigate with the arrow keys.

So different but yet incorrect behavior on OS X.

screenshot of the problem

Problem description: Allowing the user to type in the version info of the about
windows screws up the version info. Should not be a textfield or editable at
all.

Steps to reproduce:
1. open LO latest master build from 2013-09-16 (Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: f4d3954fc6106b3ae0ee16ab0fcde15d8cb945e3)
2. go to $PRODUCNAME (currently broken, normaly is LibreOffice Dev) and then
 About
3. in the about window click into the version info and type ´
4. the character appears in the version info and causes weird behavior

Current behavior: messed up version info

Expected behavior: no characters can be entered in the About info window.

Operating System: Mac OS X

Reproducible in 3.6.0.4 - 4.1.2.1 under Win7x64 - NEW.
Not reproducible with 3.5.6.2 and lower (in that versions, both cases give read
errors) - regression.

A user may actually want to insert a PDF that is known to include the ODF data
(hoping that this will insert that embedded data), and the crash may interrupt
work and make data loss, so it's a legitimate real-life issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69460] New: FILESAVE: save csv and exit causes lock up of OSX

2013-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69460

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69460
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: save csv and exit causes lock up of OSX
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: mercergeoi...@gmail.com
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

This bug actually applies to OpenOffice, NeoOffice and LibreOffice.
When working with csv files in Calc, saving and exiting causes the program to
hang but worse than this, it causes OSX to to slow to a halt. I cant access
Force Quit by any method, using KILL in the terminal wont work because
accessing Terminal, even if running already becomes incredibly slow. The only
option is to power off or wait a long, long time.
It only happens if I save and exit in quick succession, without interacting
with the program in any way been these actions, i.e. by using cmd-Q directly
after saving.
This issue has been around for some time and isn't specific to 10.7 (my OS).
Mostly I can avoid it, by clicking somewhere in LibreOffice, but occasionally I
forgot and am suddenly dropped into a very slow process of restarting my work
flow.
Sorry if this doesn't conform to standard bug descriptions.

@Mike Silbermann: 'Version' field is for earliest version on which a bug is
reproducible, so please don't change it to a newer version

I don't change anything in bug status but for me :

4.0.4 : ok
4.0.5 : bug

4.1.0 : not tested, sorry
4.1.1 : bug

So the earliest version with bug is, numerically speaking, 4.0.5

FWIW, I experience similar PDF export crashes currently every time I use Writer
LO 4.1.1.2 for my business work with a document that contains no header, a
footer containing an inserted table in 3 columns, and a single image inserted
on the final page, anchored to the page, with continuous background wrap
attribute.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69461] New: SLIDESHOW: Inserted Movie files show a white screen for about one frame at the start

2013-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69461

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69461
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: SLIDESHOW: Inserted Movie files show a white screen
for about one frame at the start
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: sbc_hates_s...@yahoo.com.au
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.1.2 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: White flash at the start of a movie slide show

Steps to reproduce:
1. Insert a mp4 video with a black slide preceding the slide with the movie
2. Start a slide show at the black slide before the movie.
3. Advance to the movie slide and look for a brief white flash.

Current behaviour: Tested this behaviour on both Kubuntu 13.04 and 13.10 and
with mp4 and wmv files and all show the behaviour in Step 3

Expected behaviour: The movie works perfectly except for the white flash at
the start of the movie.

I do not know of any way to show this behaviour other than by the description
above.

Hi Ana,
I think it is a duplicate of bug 69453
FILESAVE: Saving to XLS format omits to save formula expressions of cells where
the formula result is an error.

I think you need update the version to at least 4.1.1 and recover the formulas.

For working purposes I think it is not a good idea go with the last version, if
do not need any specific improvement, it is safer stay a step back, 4.0.5.2 in
this case.

But I have had this issue for some time, using OSX 10.6 and many versions of

saving a csv file with Save as and Edit filter settings even if using the

I'm not saying that the behaviour you observed doesn't exist, just that I can't
reproduce it, nor have I ever seen this, whether it be with LO, AOO, or Neo,
and I've gone through 3 OSX upgrades in as many years from 10.6, to 10.7 and
now to 10.8.

This would indicate on the face of it that there is something specific, either
in your configuration files, or in the data that you are attempting to export,
which causes the problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69460] FILESAVE: save csv and exit causes lock up of OSX

2013-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69460

--- Comment #5 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk ---
Just tried with

AOO400m3(Build:9702) - Rev. 1503704
2013-07-16 14:51:10 (Tue, 16 Jul 2013)

No hang there either.
1) Start OOo app
2) Open new Calc document
3) Enter some text in A1
4) Enter some numbers in B1
5) Enter a number with decimals in C1
6) Enter a date in D1
7) Save as CSV - choose default export options
8) OpenOffice main menu Quit

I did exactly the same with LO.

You need to provide us with that kind of detail, so we can try and reproduce.

Setting as WORKSFORME on master, but no idea whether the fix (which at present
is unidentifiable) has been backported to the next release version of LO.

Use cmd-Q to quit, no interaction with NO's GUI, that's what triggers it. I can
avoid the crash by quitting via the menu but sometimes I'm in my flow and
just use keyboard shortcuts, forgetting that disaster awaits.

First page as it is in 4.1.2.1

It's difficult to understand what you call difficulties. You have not
described them in detail, nor have you given screenshots of bad display
(preferably with problem spots marked).

E.g., I see some images slightly displaced in 4.1.2.1 under Win7x64 (see
attachment). Is that what you are talking about?

So, tried again and had some difficulties but managed to get a close match to
the behaviour.
csv file of 1kb
Open in LibreOffice
Swap two columns
Save as
Edit Filter Settings
Press Enter key to save then cmd-Q to quit

I had prepared beforehand by closing everything else down and having the Force
Quit window open. This eased the problem but it certainly triggered a crash in
LO

Re previous comment about config file: I always clean install so it seems
unlikely. Also, I think, though I cant be certain, that I had this issue with
OO on 10.5

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69464] New: Inserted Variable in header, using it in document : value goes from 0 to actual value

2013-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69464

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69464
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Inserted Variable in header, using it in document :
value goes from 0 to actual value
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: chris.vandenber...@telenet.be
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.1.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

.odt document bug example (Variable PPmore not showing its correct value before
page 13)

Dear,

I've attachted a .odt in which I inserted a Variable PPmore in the header.

- in the first part of the document, using the variable returns 0 (which is
incorrect)
- in the second part (from page 13) of the document it returns it's correct
value (2)

I've inserted the text Value of PPmore = with the Variable inserted.

So you can search for PPmore in the document for the position where the value
of the Variable PPmore becomes correct (on page 13).

(Turning on show non-printables doesn't show me anything...)

(FYI : Usage of the Variable : conditially hiding some sections)

Thank you very much for looking into this - I would like to tackle this issue.

Kind regards,
Chris Vandenberghe

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69401] Unable to open too many .odg files after the last windows 8 update

2013-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69401

--- Comment #1 from Snarky sna...@attglobal.net ---
I can now tell that the same thing happens as I add the objects to the drawing.
I just had two open files. I copied around 200 objects at once and tried to
past them. The window silently disappeared (the second one was left intact).
