[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61272] Incorrect EMF pictures visualization

I didn't change the importance but questioned it I know. I did not mean to imply you had, so I am sorry if it sounded that way. I was just trying to provide some clarity. So tell me: what should a Windows user do, when he owns an EMF and wants to include it into a LibO-Writer document without loosing informations or if he wants to copy/paste from PowerPoint to LibO-Writer and not a single paste-format (CTRL+Shift+V) brings up a correct representation? EMF+ support is steadily improving (http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/history/core/cppcanvas/source/mtfrenderer/emfplus.cxx), but you will need patience. There are numerous EMF-related bugs, including this one. Simply because MS has billions and are unwilling to improve open format support, does not mean that those working on a largely volunteer basis are somehow obligated to see supporting MS formats as critical. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70422] Move cxx files in sw/source/ui to reflect the reality on how they are linked in libraries
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70422 --- Comment #2 from Michael Stahl mst...@redhat.com --- i'm not sure if i understand the reasons for _how_ exactly the current split is done anyway... fwict the swui library is for stuff that is not needed immediately at startup; it only includes part of the ui while other parts of the ui are in sw library because they are needed always. so the current source dir structure is of (logically) core parts vs. ui parts whereas what you propose is to move parts that aren't core into sw/source/core. then again there is already a weird sort of split between model (which is all in core except for SwXTextDocument) and view which is partially in sw/source/core (base classes, ViewShell etc.) and partially in sw/source/ui. so i'm not sure what this all _should_ look like. perhaps what we really need is to split up the ui directory in 2 (so we have 4 dirs in sw/source), not move the stuff to sw/source/core/... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70414 --- Comment #3 from Björn Michaelsen bjoern.michael...@canonical.com --- Well, I guess Eclipse/MSVS would likely be a bit more verbose as they are using this enterprisy newfangled XML. But I dont think it would be much _harder_ per se. As for extending this to autotoolsy projects Im not sure if that is so easy. It it really trivial to extract the build information from gbuild as it is exportable in a really easy to parse way, while autotools defies parsing even by most humans judging from a nonscientific survey in my environment(*). ;) (*) It might work though if the project restricts itself to a welldefined subset of autotools (just like gbuild essentially restricts GNU make to a DSL for target definition). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Morten - just to get a handle on what you're saying it -sounds- like you're concern is that you (somewhat unusually) want to see the floating point artifacts in cells, whereas the majority of the world don't ;-) is that a fair summary ? [ and you'd like some way to turn that off ]. Of course, if Excel provides a way to avoid that, it's interesting in itself; my hope would be that this would be a number formatting issue and there would be no underlying loss of precision. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71599] FORMATTING: Table inserted from Libre Office Calc is changes alignment
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71599 --- Comment #2 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net --- Additional finding : - with Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V, the copy in Writer is a picture, not a table ; moreover, if I copy A44-B80 to include numbers, the resulting picture is not the image of the calc display, it shows modification in numeric cells, for example B26 changed from 0,026 to 26 (misinterpretation of language dependant , in numbers, between german and english ?), with its alignment changed from left to right (= the initial bug report). Now this raises the question : this copy wasn't supposed to paste into a Writer table, not a picture ? I think yes. Word do so. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70414 --- Comment #5 from Björn Michaelsen bjoern.michael...@canonical.com --- (In reply to comment #4) Heh - sure, I was thinking of parsing the generated gnumake rules and deps etc. from running a similar (but plunging) 'make -n -p' on an autotools project; all previous attempts I've seen to parse auto* ended in dismal failure ;-) but extending this approach would work nicely I think. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71628 --- Comment #4 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- Arnaud, (In reply to comment #3) Hi, Small question, there is GTK+ in the bug title, and Windows 7 in the description. I will remove the gtk+ in the bug title for all those bugs. Ok ? Please do not. The fundamental issue arrises because of adoption of GTK+ UI design and widgets. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/WidgetLayout#Rationale While efficient from a design and maintenance perspective, the challenge is making this all work consistently cross platform--notably the correct keyboard navigation needed for use by Assistive Technologies tools. The UI widget framework is GTK+, all OS are affected--issue is correct as titled. But additional reivew on OS X and Linux still useful. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51373] Allow restart numbering in paragraph styles
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51373 --- Comment #6 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com --- Created attachment 89471 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=89471action=edit ODT and PDF showing the 3 ordered list entry methods from Writer Guide v4.0. I am confirming this bug under Ubuntu 10.04 running v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a. Status set to NEW. There is a problem with the manner in which ordered list numbering is handled with respect to the use of styles (paragraph and list), as originally reported: Paragraph styles for numbered lists do not have a means to specify that the numbering be restarted. This is correct. Only direct formatting (Format Paragraph...) can be used to restart list numbering in styles. First a few corrections: (In response to comment #2) I used Line numbering - Restart at this paragraph - Start with 1 option. Line numbering is a separate facility to list numbering, regardless of the method used to number a list. The indicated settings have no effect on list numbering (nor should they). (In response to comment #5) I think you can workaround this by using special numbering and styles. Broadly speaking, yes, it is possible to workaround the issue as described e.g., by direct formatting. The sample provided in comment #5 however uses outline numbering via the Tools Outline Numbering facility and sets different levels for the first and subsequent items (even though they are the same level). This is a hack. There are three different methods of defining ordered lists and in the attachment I have indicated where these are described in the Writer Guide v4.0. The first two use direct formatting and work. The last one, of which I provide two examples, uses only paragraph and list styles, and exhibits the problem as reported. I will test these three methods under older versions of Writer if I get the chance over the coming days, to determine whether the behaviour as described has always been this way (likely), or is a regression (less likely). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61272 --- Comment #9 from mathias.s...@vector.com --- Simply because MS has billions and are unwilling to improve open format support, does not mean that those working on a largely volunteer basis are somehow obligated to see supporting MS formats as critical.
