Problem description: Presenting a presentation an my external monitor yields mostly white screen. See screenshot. Steps to reproduce: 1. create or open any .odp 2. put some content on the slide 3. start presentation Current behavior: On a small screen / my laptop builtin screen all is fine. Closing the laptop lid (so there's only my external monitor and display is switched to it), picture gets whitened as in screenshot. Reopening lid (switching back to laptop only) yields a complete white screen. Pressing ESC closes presentation - edit mode is displayed correctly. Pressing F5 again yields correct presentation (on the small screen). Dual screen CLONING works 'fine' (low resolution of small screen). Dual screen EXTEND works fine if the SMALL screen is used for the actual presentation (the big screen displays the presenter screen including preview and annotations correctly!). If the big screen is used for presentation, there is the whitened screen as shown in the screenshot. Expected behavior: Presentation should display correctly, even on a big screen. Workaround: Disabling Hardware accelleration resolves the issue, but I want to use it since the rendering quality is much better. Notes: Powerpoint 2010 and 2013 work correctly on the same hardware. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67370] PDF: Hyphenation not visible when text is exported as tagged PDF (applies to PDF/A-1 as well)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67370 Khaled Hosny khaledho...@eglug.org changed: What|Removed |Added CC||khaledho...@eglug.org --- Comment #12 from Khaled Hosny khaledho...@eglug.org --- This is an old bug that got exposed by recent changes in the underlying layout code. Basically what is happening is that when we are exporting to tagged PDF, U+00AD (soft hyphen) is used as hyphen character (probably to allow for text re-flow) but this is wrong since U+00AD is a control character and should not have any visible output as it sole purpose it to indicate possible hyphenation point. Our new (more Unicode complaint) layout engine strips such control character and replaces them with a zero width space, the old engine did not do this and it worked to some degree (as long as the font has a visible glyph in that position, which most fonts do, but there is no requirement to do that). I need to find what is the proper way to tag and automatically inserted hyphen in tagged PDF and implement that, so I appreciative if any one can research this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I think this bug can be RESOLVED as NOTABUG. At the very least this bug would need to be changed to an enhancement request as it is asking for a new option that has never existed. There are separate filters for converting a file opened in Writer to HTML in such a way as to embed or link any included graphics: - File Export select File Type of XHTML will embed the graphics. - File Save As... select File Type of HTML Document will link the graphics. These two filters can be used via the command line as: $ soffice --headless --convert-to html:HTML (StarWriter) file_to_convert.odt $ soffice --headless --convert-to html:XHTML Writer File file_to_convert.odt I have tested this functionality under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 running: - v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6 - v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a ... indicating it has always been this way. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72125 --- Comment #3 from Noel Grandin noelgran...@gmail.com --- I've done some basic analysis of this, but I find KCacheGrind hard to follow, so take this with a pinch of salt: My preliminary conclusion is that SvTreeListBox is simply not designed for this number of elements. It appears to be doing a calculation of item height for every single item inserted, which is generating a ton of calls down into the text layout subsystem, which is adding up to a lot of time. A stripped down stack trace looks like: SvxJavaOptionsPage::ExpertConfigHdl_Impl -CuiAboutConfigTabPage::Reset -CuiAboutConfigTabPage::FillItems -CuiAboutConfigTabPage::InsertEntry -SvHeaderTabListBox::Insert -SvTreeListBox::Insert -SvListView::ModelNotification -SvTreeListBox::InitViewData -SvLBoxString::InitViewData -OutputDevice::GetTextWidth Other ListBox implementations handle this one of two ways: (a) the client code explicitly specify the row height, and the ListBox just uses that number, not calling any text layout (b) the ListBox assumes that all rows are the same height and only calls layout for the first row. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Old behavior is kept even if opened with a new LibreOffice version. You can notice that, with the old behavior, it is possible to have zero indent on the right side of the second picture, just some spacing around the picture, even if the paragraph style has before text indent. Lib0 4.2.0.0 beta2 on Win7 : Please pay attention to the Wrap attribute of the frame encapsulating the image and its title : - it is Page Wrap in the document you submit, hence the right old behaviour, - should you change it to Optimal Page Wrap, it falls into the behaviour you contest, - so IMHO all is perfectly correct in LibO, we have the features to get both behaviour, both in a straightforward way. Hi Cor, thanks for your interest. I took my work laptop to home for the week-end, to be able to do some tests. I've removed 4.0.2 and installed back 4.1.3.2 (using it in French, along with the 4.1.3 helppack_fr). I've first checked the file : first time, it did not crash on saving. Then after closing it and re-opening it, it then crashed on saving it. Doing copies of the file, working on them : a few times it did not crash on the first edition, I had to close the file and re-open it to get the bug to appear. But once it has crashed once, it seems to crash systematically. I've tried with a clean user profile as you've asked (moving %appdata%/Roaming/LibreOffice/4/user to user-old). On launching LibreOffice the folder was re-created. The bug is still present with the new profile. I will join the new version (travail2.ods) of the file I used to do these tests. I've changed the status of the bug back to unconfirmed, as what's seems logic to me (needinfo - I give info - unconfirmed - another cycle).
