(In reply to comment #0)

Repro steps:
 1. Draw a freeform line on a slide in Impress.

- Open new presentation
- On the Drawing bar, click the drop-down arrow next to the Curve icon, and
select Freeform Line
- Draw a forward slash / across the slide

 2. Optional: add a custom animation (appear, for example) to the new
 freeform shape.

As it's optional, I'll skip this step.

 3. Save the file as a PPT and close.

Saving as Microsoft Powerpoint 97/2000/XP/2003 (.ppt)

 4. Open the PPT file again.

 Current behavior:
 Freeform line disappears. Other shapes may or may not persist.

Confirmed.

If I repeat the test and save to ODF instead, the line remains after closing
and re-opening the document.

backtrace of the crash

Hi. I have a crash in Calc 4.2 when sorting a table if I select the entire
column by clicking on its header.
It seems that the crash depend on a particular file. Unfortunately this file is
confidential.
Steps to reproduce:
1/ select the entire column by clicking on its header (the letter)
2/ click on the button to test
3/ in the dialog which appears, accept to extent the selection

If I run LO in non debug mode I get an error messagebox saying
Vector::_M_range_check

If I run LO 4.2 in debug mode, I get a crash due to an assertion in mdds which
failed : see the attached backtrace.

I will try to modify my file to make a non-confidential test file.

Best regards. JBF

Is this actually 4.3alpha0? I'm asking as there was a change in the DOCX shape
import since 4-2 branchoff, we used to ignore all DML content in DOCX files,
and now we do not, this might be related.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66577] Cursor is sometimes misplaced when editing text on Mac OS X

2013-12-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66577

--- Comment #33 from Bernard Mendiburu p...@mendiburu.net ---
Bug name just been changed

from:
VIEWING: Cursor displaced in Web Layout when misspelled text is highlighted

to:
Cursor is sometimes misplaced when editing text on Mac OS X

and that's not the accurate description.

Sugegsted FULL DESCRIPTION:
The default is activated by enabling spellcheck in some viewing modes including
WRITER Web View and CALC. It changes the displayed text length upon various
unindentified parameters including text content and displayed font.

Suggested COMMENT:
The cursor stays at the same place as it would be with spellchech
dis-activated, and is therefore not alligned with displayed text insert point
when the bug is active. For this reason the bug is sometimes refered as faulty
cursor. Truth is, it is a text display bug. Enabling spellcheck should NOT
change text layout. We suspect a letter spacing rounding error.

Suggested TITLE:
Activating spellcheck changes the letter-spacing on Mac OS

 Problem description:

 Steps to reproduce:
 1. I'm copying images from a PDF in the Preview from mac osx 10.6.8
 2. When I paste them in it goes ok
 3. When I re-size them using the mouse on the corners and pressing shift+cmd
 the image is re-sized but it leaves the small one there. It creates another
 with the new size.
 4. If I re-size it again it again leave the old one there and creates
 another.

I don't have 'Preview' on Ubuntu, and playing around resizing a regular PNG
image, I'm unable to reproduce this bug, so this does appear to be OSX-only.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71423] Impress frequently crashes when editing tables in slides

--- Comment #15 from Gerry gerry.trep...@googlemail.com ---
Unfortunately, this bug had not been fixed for yesterday's release 4.1.4.

I can also confirm this bug with the most recent LO update for Ubuntu: Version:
4.1.3.2, Build ID: 410m0(Build:2)

It is a severe bug! For a completely different presentation yesterday, I almost
could not meet the deadline, because of crashes due to this bug. Working with
tables in Impress is not possible at this stage!

 Problem description:
 I download this file each month in a php app, but this file open with a
 message in MS Office 2007 but show 11 columns.

I'm not quite sure what problem you're experiencing...

 Steps to reproduce:
 1. Open the file with LibreOffice
 2. The file is seen in Chinese characters
 3. Compare with MS Office.

in LO 4.2.0.1, the given attachment opens with 11 columns and does not show any
Chinese characters.

So, NOREPRO.

(In reply to comment #3)
 The expression “recent version” is not clear enough (or at all) so to track
 down the problem. At least a specific version should be mentioned,

Yep, that sounds about right :-)

 In case a newer version solved the problem, but there is no known patch,
 this report should be marked as WORKSFORME, not FIXED (which Urmas did
 without providing any details to any relevant patch nor version).

Indeed -- I'll resolve this as Works for me! :-)

McJarod: If you test against LO 4.2.0.1 and are still having the same problems,
it's possible that this is a Windows-only bug. If that's the case, please
re-open the bug, leave a comment that 4.2.0.1 does not fix the problem for you,
and we'll do a bit more triaging.

Cheers!

 - Same when saving in openxml docx

Peter,

Thanks for the bug report!

Sounds like you might have more than one bug here, but we can split them out
into multiple bug reports as we go.

 - When opening and saving a .doc document in libreoffice and opening in word
 2003 again results in loss of all styles.

Could you please upload an example ODT file that demonstrates this problem?
Having a sample file makes it really easy for the devs to work on a fix for the
problem *and then* prevent similar regressions in the future.

After you've uploaded the file, please change the Bug Status back to
'UNCONFIRMED'.

Thanks!

 This looks to me like a software design issue.

 (1) When you write a document, copying a picture from another source and
 then pasting into a document, there are times that the Writer hangs. I think
 its a memory allocation issue?

Do you think you could come up with some steps to reproduce the bug? I often
paste pictures into Writer, but if there are some specific steps that seem to
trigger the problem, the devs would love to have them documented here :-)

 (2) Another related problem is: I write a document with travel info for
 myself and then I paste a photo of a building in the document. The link gets
 pasted, so next time I open it, the link does not get resolved, because of
 the network disconnection. There should be a way to have a paste option: the
 link, or the photo object itself, or a local link to the document's current
 directory. If you think in terms of Microsoft's OLE then this requires some
 design issues: (a) how to move / print / save a document with linked objects
 (b) to give options, when pasting a picture object.

You might be running into this bug:
Bug 52547 - New Firefox image clipboard causes paste as link in LibreOffice -
paste directly is preferred

..or something similar.

You may also explicitly choose to insert an image by link or directly into the
document:
https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Inserting_Pictures

 I love Libre Office. In April, I was in Pforzheim and did not know at that
 time, of Libre Office. What source language do you use?

LibreOffice is mostly written in C++, with some XML for XSLT file format
filters and some Java for Wizards, Database stuff, etc...:
https://www.ohloh.net/p/libreoffice

Any interest in joining our merry band of hackers, documentarians, localization
gurus, and quality assurers? We've always got room for a knowledgeable and
hard-working contributor :-)

The People's Republic of China national standard [中华人民共和国国家标准] GB/T 9704-2012

This version (2012) replaces the earlier GB/T 9704-1999, which evidently
specified in words the same thing under 8.2.3:

 主送机关名称下一行,每自然段左空2字,回行顶格。数字、年份不能回行。

Translation: Leave 2 characters space on first line of each paragraph.

This earlier version of the standard also includes similar examples of page
layout at the end.

Thanks Jiero for indicating the earlier document.

WORKSFORME. Loss of text is something that really must not be allowed to
happen under any circumstances.

I'll set up an Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 test system with en_AU.utf-8 locale to see
if I can find a way to reproduce the bug in that kind of environment.

Easily reproducible by selecting an entire column in an empty sheet and
invoking Data-Sort. Though the backtrace suggests a different scenario, would
be nice to have a reproducer document for this case and see if my fix will
indeed fix that as well.

Mikhail - Thanks for the perfect bug report! Having a side-by-side screenshot
and a test file makes it a cinch for us in QA to confirm :-)

One note - the fact that 'Cambria' appears in Italics in the Font Name box
means that the particular font is not (currently) available to LibreOffice and
a substitution has been made. The font-substitution *could* have an affect on
the layout, depending upon how the document tables and other pieces have been
constructed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72878] Borders icon broken in LO v4.x

2013-12-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72878

jf...@bellsouth.net changed:

   What|Removed |Added

Version|(See in Summary)|4.1.3.2 release

--- Comment #1 from jf...@bellsouth.net ---
OS : Windows 7 Pro and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

If the Borders icon is added to a toolbar -- via Customize - Toolbars -
Add...
Category Format, Commands Borders -- when activating it, the click command
opens a small blank Title Bar, no box frame, no box, no contents (Win7)...
whereas on Ubuntu, it opens a full screen blank box.

The Borders UI and functionality can be activated via the LO menu system -
Format - Paragraph - Borders tab.

This situation did not occur on LO.3.5, 3.6.6, nor 3.6.7.
I upgraded directly from there to LO.4.1.3.2 on both OS, 'problem' started.
I upgraded yesterday to LO.4.1.4.2 on both OS, 'problem' still there.

Thinking I may have conflicting ancillary files or registry settings from LO.3,
I uninstalled LibreOffice from both OS, and manually cleaned any leftovers,
including user profiles.
Gave the machine a chance to a cold reboot, and myself a beer, same
temperature.
A clean install of LO.4.1.4.2 did not correct the 'problem'.
What gives?
I resolved my quandary by setting a shortcut key to the Format Borders command.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your work, dudettes and dudes.

When LO is installed, it should be great that it modify the registry to
associate the protocol vnd.libreoffice.cmis with the program.

Because if we want to use CMIS protocol from a GED software to edit inline a
document using LibreOffice, we are forced to edit registry manually on each
computer like this:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\vnd.libreoffice.cmis]

@=URL:LibreOffice Cmis Protocol

When opening a document in CMIS, LO does not lock the file on the CMIS server
or open the file in read-only mode.

This is very dangerous because another user can open simultaneously the same
file and overwrite the ongoing changes.

Therefore 2 options to resolve this when a document is opened in CMIS:

- the file is in read-only mode unless the user 'Extract' the document (BTW
'Extracts' should be replaced by a more user friendly term, ie 'Lock for
Editing')

OR

- set a CMIS lock on the server

I was just wondering if the format of the PDF file changed in the new release?
The reason why I ask is, because I like to submit pdf files to Univ. of

Thanks for looking into it for me.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60232] Possibility to update bibliography references from bibliography database

2013-12-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60232

--- Comment #5 from Jorendc jore...@libreoffice.org ---
As far I understand the code, and what also is mentioned in the Apache
bug: there is no link between the reference field and bibliography database.

While selecting from bibliography database when creating a new
reference field (insert indexes and tables Bibliography entry...),
the entry selector is pulled from the bibliography database over here:
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sw/source/ui/index/swuiidxmrk.cxx#1331

Since there is no unique ID, there is no link between the reference and
the database, once inserted into the document. Conclusion: there has to
be an _hidden_ unique key. Hidden because users may not change this
unique key manually (and thus break the linkage). To prevent
automatically updating for certain entries, a checkbox needs to be
introduced.

Probably a part of this code
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sw/source/ui/fldui/fldmgr.cxx#1528
can be re-used, to update the field. This code is currently used to
modify the reference field
(http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sw/source/ui/index/swuiidxmrk.cxx#1278)
when you manually edit the reference data inside your document (double
click on the field - edit).

Anyone interested :)?

Try to save this file as RTF and open it with LibreOffice

I have tried reproducing this bug with my Mac Pro 8-Core using a new file, but
I can't, so I'm uploading the problem file with this bug report. I have removed
private info from it (for example a couple of images), but I still get the same
error message after saving it as RTF and when I try to open the RTF file with
LibreOffice, I get: File format error found at 1492,7(row,col).

Did you upgrade to 4.0.6.2?

On Windows 7 sp1, 64-bit with a full installation of 4.2.0 RC1

LibreOffice
Version: 4.2.0.1
Build ID: 7bf567613a536ded11709b952950c9e8f7181a4a

In working the paired issues of bug 72647 ang bug 71946, I'm now back over to
one of Cloph's release build configurations. Unfortunately, the Java Access
Bridge based AT support exclusively comes up with the 4.2.0.1 RC1 build.

I am unable to force the IAccessible2 AT support to activate with any
combination of LibreOffice registry or Windows registry configuration.

If the Tools - Options - Advanced: enable experimental features is checked,
to build forces Java Access Bridge based accessibility active and then errors
that a JRE has not been selected.

This really is not an acceptable UX behavior. There should be smooth toggle
between the legacy JAB based AT and the experimental IAccessible2 based AT
support. If it can not be corrected, we may need to pull the legacy JAB out as
done already for master, or possibly set IAccessible2 active by default in some
fashion--making the JAB based AT the alternate.

Setting mab4.2

--- Comment #4 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@collabora.com ---
If you have enabled experimental mode, and you have an AT running [!!!] that
requests the accessiblity handle from the app - *then* and only then will the
IA2 support be used.

 I am unable to force the IAccessible2 AT support to activate with any
 combination of LibreOffice registry or Windows registry configuration.

IMHO we would do better to work out why it is not activating than trying to add
odd extra user configuration settings :-) it should just work.

 or possibly set IAccessible2 active by default in some fashion--making the
 JAB based AT the alternate.

JAB is only activated -after- the IAccessible2 work fails to launch / activate
/ work.

Having said that IAcc2 has a check to ensure that there is an AT running that
requests, that code is here [ wow it has moved into a super-ugly #ifdef WNT
when I had moved it nicely into the component itself which would simply refuse
to activate if there was no AT registered - is there a reason for that Michael
? ]

#ifdef _WIN32
bool bTryIAcc2 = (
officecfg::Office::Common::Misc::ExperimentalMode::get( xContext )
   !getenv (SAL_DISABLE_IACCESSIBLE2) );

if ( bTryIAcc2 ) // Windows only really
{
if (!HasAtHook()  !getenv(SAL_FORCE_IACCESSIBLE2))
{
SAL_INFO(vcl, Apparently no running AT -
not enabling IAccessible2 integration);
}
else
{
try {
pSVData-mxAccessBridge
=
css::accessibility::MSAAService::create(xContext);
SAL_INFO(vcl, got IAccessible2 bridge);
return true;
} catch (css::uno::DeploymentException  e) {
SAL_INFO(
vcl,
got no IAccessible2 bridge, \  e.Message
 \, falling back to java);
}
}
}
else
SAL_INFO( vcl, IAccessible2 disabled, falling back to java
);
#endif

cf. svdata.cxx

#ifdef _WIN32
bool HasAtHook()
{
BOOL bIsRunning = FALSE;
// pvParam must be BOOL
return SystemParametersInfo(SPI_GETSCREENREADER, 0, bIsRunning, 0)
 bIsRunning;
}
#endif

My suspicion would be using something that is not registered as a running
screenreader and falling into that pit ? [ such as an at-poke type tool ? ]

Michael - why did we re-instate this horrible 'HasAtHook' and a ton of
conditionals there ? Why have a:

#ifdef _WIN32
bool HasAtHook()

#ifdef inside the windows backend ? or did I screw something up there ? it
seemed to belong elegantly inside the (windows specific) winaccessibility
component - surely ?
