In OO/LO Writer that functionality is already available as an extension, see http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/change-picture I think this functionality should be integrated into the default installation because: - it is even more useful in Writer than in Presenter because in Writer I need to do much more adaptations to fit it to the text - MS Word has it and people will expect it in LO Writer as well (search for Libreoffice exchange picture and you get a lot of unhappy people that want that feature) In the extension, SVG-files are missing in the file dialog (because it was written for OO without SVG-support), therefore the filter in the file-dialog should also be extended to include SVG-files for OO. Also I pulled down the formulabox to show more than one line, thus showing the entire field. The bug is that navigating with arrow-up or arrow-down does not change the formulabox if the first line of the box is the same. Also happens if I save the document as .ods If you go from one cell to the other, and the first line of the box is the same as the previous cell, then the contents of the formula box does not change. No harm, except when there are differences in character beyond that. In that case you see the string of the previous cell and not the string of the other cell. If you do the same but navigate by clicking instead of the arrows, then the contents of the formula box does change, as expected. If users want to get to recent used documents, they can shift + tab (to go in the other direction - at least on OSX). So can we set this to fixed? I'm unsure what to make to make of V Stuart's suggestion to allow tabbing between the 4 sections and use arrow keys for the navigation in those sections. It might be against standard tab behavior, but would allow for much quicker navigation. Maybe (but that would be another bug then) it would be smart to open the StartCenter with focus on the recent documents section? I find it hard to decide, which section will see most usage from all users. But I doubt that with the recent file list it will be open file. And even if that is the case you can still cmd + O (open shortcut on OSX) to open another document. So that would be another argument for opening with recent documents in focus. Any thoughts on how to move this forward? Or do others think this is all set? I run a site that receives word files from journalists (not affiliated with us) and we use LibreOffice to take screenshots of these files. A good percentage of our files are hit by this bug, and it includes files coming from different sources. I didn't take accurate statistics of the percentage of files that are affected by this bug, so I may be overestimating the problem. I believe our user sample is big enough to be representative of modern word files created today (probably different from a set of historical word files). The main bias that I know of from our sample is that most of our users are spanish. In my opinion this bug should stay at highest priority.
