You have to uninstall it whit the LO-setup.

I'm not sure how to do this. (I'm using Mac OS 10.6.8).

The people on this bug have even less MacOS X expertise than you. I suggest
you ask a MacOS X guru / expert / ... What you want to achieve is a partial
install; LibreOffice is made of some required components and some optional
components. Report Builder is such an optional component. During the install
procedure (at least on GNU/Linux and on Microsoft Windows), one gets the choice
of which optional components one wants to install and which ones not. Where
exactly that choice is on MacOS X, you need to ask a MacOS X guy.

For user support questions such as these, you can try
 - http://ask.libreoffice.org
 - a user mailing list https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/
   or through Nabble
   https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/nabble-mailing-list-interface/
 - IRC https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/irc-help/
 - and/or a MacOS X user forum alternatively to a LibreOffice forum

Lionel:

Thank you for the additional information.

On Mac OS, the LO installer is a .dmg 'package', and there is apparently no
ability to instal separate 'components'. It's just 'all-or-none' for that
particular LO version. I have looked most of the sources you mention without
success, but I will follow-up your suggestions in more intensively, and report
back. (It it very frustrating that it does not, at this stage, seem possible to
easily use the legacy report designer component in recent versions of LO.).
Surely a 'switch' could be added to the GUI??

Created attachment 93850

Example of stripping outline numbering from a toc

If tabe of content is added automatically based on outline numbering there is
no space between Chapeter number (E#) and Entery (E). In previous versions the
fix is to right click on table of content, choose Edit index/table and insert
space between chapter number (E#) and Entery (E).

When I add that space in LO 4.2 the outline numbering is stripped, that spaceer
eases chapter numbering for that outline level.

It is possible to right click on a table of content, uncheck Protect against
manula changes, and add the space manually - it works this way.

I attached exeple file: try right click on the table Edit index/table
choose tab Enteries and then try add space between Chapter entery (E#) and
Entery (E).

In Editor PSPad I can insert it as HTML-Source. There I notice, that it has
 the doctype

 Previous versions (e.g. Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+

Yes, that is understood. But WHY is this perfectly useful (and, in my opinion,

must be a relatively simple way of bringing it back? And why should the access

--- Comment #3 from Stephan Bergmann sberg...@redhat.com ---
At least on a fresh OS X 10.9.1 with Apple's Java for OS X
(http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572) not installed and Oracle's Java 1.7.0_51
(http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=83377) installed,
against an --enable-64-bit build of current LO master, I observe two issues:

(1) Doing anything in LO that requires Java, like Tools - Macros - Organize
Macros - BeanShell..., abruptly exits LO's soffice with exit code 97, after
writing No Java runtime present, requesting install to stderr. (It may or
may not first pop up Apple's stub window asking to install Java. Appears to me
that it does so a couple of time and when you keep pressing No it eventually
stops presenting the dialog.)

The reason is that calling Oracle's JNI_CreateJavaVM exported from
/Library/Internet
Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/lib/server/libjvm.dylib
internally calls into Apple's (stubbed-by-default)
/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Frameworks/JavaRuntimeSupport.framework/JavaRuntimeSupport,
which then decides to call exit(1).

This problem goes away once you do install Apple's Java for OS X (i.e., Java
6) alongside Oracle's Java 7. (And LO does run the Java 7 JVM then, not the
Java 6 one, as can be seen, e.g., when modifying the BeanShell HelloWorld macro
in LibreOffice Macros to include the result of
System.getProperty(java.version) in the text inserted into a Writer document
and reports 1.7.0_51.)

(2) The LibreOffice - Advanced preferences pane shows Oracle Corporation
1.7.0_51 as unselected, and when you select it (which causes the For the
selected Java runtime environment to work properly, LibreOffice must be
restarted dialog) it is nevertheless unselected again on the next visit.

This problem appears unrelated to whether or not you also have Apple's Java
for OS X installed, and appears to be only cosmetic, in that it does not
affect the Java functionality in LO as discussed under (1).

With LibreOffice 4.2 the option to choose modules was removed as they were only
shortcuts. This makes me thinking of why we don't provide the ability to
natively support of selecting modules (not only shortcuts). For example if
somebody wants to install only Calc and Writer the other modules aren't getting

additional information (modified date, pathway, etc) and so make use of the

  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.3 rc
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

When I edit page margins from the sidebar, Writer lags several seconds behind,
with high CPU load. In addition, I can't directly enter the margin values
there, only scroll for some reason (i.e. the margin value boxes won't let me
write anything there).

Tried now with LibreOffice 4.2.0 RC4 (on Debian Linux, packages from TDF), but
the bug was there already in RC3 (at least). However, it works reasonably fast
with 4.2.0 beta 2, so it looks like a regression from some time after that.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Create a new document in Writer
2) Enter/copy about a page's worth of text there
3) Open the Page part on the Properties sidebar
4) Edit page margins (note that you can only scroll with mouse wheel, not type
your desired margin values right into the boxes)
5) Observe lag and CPU spiking

At first I thought it was a dupe of 37758, looks like it isn't (that bug is
fixed at least).

Problem description:

Very poor formatting of presentations when using Export as PDF... under OSX
10.9.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached odp in OSX 10.9
2. File Export as PDF ...
3. Open the resulting PDF in Preview

Current behavior:

The attached presentation includes some text in Arial (including some bold,
italic, underline) and Courier New.

When exported using LO 4.1.4.2 under OSX 10.8, it renders fine. The output PDF
is about 60KB.

When exported using LO 4.1.4.2 under OSX 10.9, the formatting is broken. The
output is 1.6MB. Worst is page 5 where the text is in completely the wrong
place. However page 3 the Courier New space runs off the end of the page, and
page 2 the kerning between characters looks wrong (too much space)

(It's not a problem with Preview: preview under 10.8 renders both good and bad
PDFs identically to preview under 10.9)

Expected behavior:

To generate PDFs the same way as they do under 10.8

I'm trying to set a couple of configuration options via the new registry
configuration backend, especially the default work path.

I've narrowed the required settings down to what is show in the attached
registrymodifications.xcu. Translating that to the registry settings, I end up
with what is shown in the attached workdir.reg.

With the registry modifications applied, I see an empty field in the options
dialog where the workdir should be. Removing the
LibreOffice\org.openoffice.Office.Common\Path\Current\Work tree, the
NamedPath['Work'] setting is ignored altogether.

I disagree, It's gotten a response, which is more than a dozen polite requests
have gotten. Sometimes some hard-hitting criticism (which you spin as ranting)
is just what's needed.

It's going on four years since this bug was reported.

As I see it, whining about criticism also won't help fixing.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create two or more forms (or any object) and group them
2. Add a connector that connect to that group
3. Double-click on a form of the group to edit it
4. Resize the form or move it (in a way that change the group dimensions)

Current behavior: The connector stay where it was before editing

Expected behavior: The position of the connector should update immediately

Note:
If you then move the group position, the connector position updates as

I just made the update to 4.2.0.4. (I frequently update on portable apps). In
the last version the attached svg imported just fine. Now Some text is missing
but not all. Shows up nicely in Inkscape, still.
That's so frustrating, every time I update something else is not working. It's
more an up-annoying than updating. Going from V2 to V3 could not import wmf
from Mathematica anymore, so I switched to svg. Now svg is not working anymore.
I was so enthusiastic about LibreOffice, but for presentations I need to import
vector formats.

I'm not a developer but I suppose that if a bug sticks here since OOo era,
maybe the fix it's not that easy to provide.

anyway, there are 2 more constructive ways to help fixing a bug, rather than
ranting of giving hard hitting criticism:

1- learn the code yourself and try hacking it

2- make a donation or start fund raising for developers involved in the fix

Hi,

Keyboard shortcuts save a lot of time.

cmd+N have a two different actions: new document and bold (typeface) but only
works new document.

In Mac all apps save document with cmd+S and Libreoffice uses cmd+G.

Can you implement zoom in and zoom out?
cmd(+)+ and cmd(+)- with twice model keyboards: with and without numeric
keyboard in right area.

Thanks in advance.

1.) Any time a developer wants to learn and take over my work, I'll take over

2.) Why don't you donate to me and fund raise for me, and that will allow me to
learn code and fix the problem. Short of that, I am pleased to announce that I
don't charge for my input, my filing of bugs or my exasperation. It's all free.

The macro, with wrong date format

I created a BASIC script, put the date and some character in the document these
format:
\tDátum: fix-date \t\t\t\tÉrtékelte:Balázs Attila
 \t - is 'tab' character

And it's working when I am use it an originally document. But when I try use it
a new document, the date format is not 2014. August. 04. (this is just an
example of course) the LO give me a number, like this: 41681,71. The date
format is wrong.
The language is Hungarian, I don't know, this is probably a problem.

I'm attached the macro.

Best,

but it happened to me repeatedly. Also, despite

filed at least once.

To reiterate, I selected the product by clicking

using the Browse button; perhaps you can reproduce
using these specific steps??
Also, are you using Firefox??

...I started at https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/
and filled out the form, but when I press Submit
I get this error message trying to report a crash in Impress...

Details:
Using latest version of Firefox,
clicked on the icon for Presentation,
filled out the fields, Browsed and added
an example file to illustrate the problem...

Thanks!
Best Regards, Dave

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74848] New: EDITING: Greyed-out menu bug when trying to insert formula

2014-02-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74848

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 74848
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: Greyed-out menu bug when trying to insert
formula
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: danimothonl...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.4 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
When attempting to insert a formula, sometimes the following happens:

1) The first time I click Insert there are a lot of grayed-out menu entries,
including Object. I click somewhere else to leave because I cannot select
Object.
2) The second time I click Insert, Object is selectable, but the entries
inside Object are all grayed-out. I click somehwere else again.
3) The third time I click Insert, I can select Object-Formula properly.

Current behavior:
I cannot insert formula without visiting Insert thrice.

Expected behavior:
This is not just for formulas, but other entries under Insert should not be
grayed out in the first place.

More info:
I insert formulas within text or inside the fn-F3 generated boxes. It is
unclear to me exactly when this happens, but it occurs very very frequently as
part of my normal work-flow. My documents generally contain text and formulas,
occasionally a few figures as well. While writing text and I try to insert a
formula, sometimes this happens but other times not (mostly it does
unfortunately).

I know this is not enough to go on, but I was hoping someone has more
information or pointers that can shed more light.

Actually, when trying to import List field causing the freeze document (and

vcl/source/window/window.cxx.

Anyone has any idea to fix this bug that appears in all LibreOffice versions ?

To view those pages, set the filter in the admin (above the tree-structure) to

But somehow I guess there's some mixup - there are many pages with that default

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74794] to put an image in the header appears on every odd and even pages.

--- Comment #5 from pamartin64 pedromar...@lascabezas.es ---
When I put an image on top of the first page and I have disabled it before left
/ right content and acitvado first page like me shows up well (only left pages)
but when I keep the odt extension and I open me appears image in the header of
all pages .

When I put text instead of image fails me when I open the document is still
seen in the left pages including the first page .

When saved as doc also happens to me , looks good (only left pages including
the first page).

When I put the image anchored as character , I get right to re-open the
document (only visible in the left pages and the promera page).

When I put the image with another anchor , I get upset when I open it back to
me appears on all pages , with the option same content left / right off .

All this happens on save with odt format to doc format when I save fails me ,
it all goes right

Mmh ... strange bug report ...

(In reply to comment #0)
 Hi,

Keyboard shortcuts save a lot of time.

cmd+N have a two different actions: new document and bold (typeface) but
 only works new document.

cmd+N is indeed a new document... which makes sense. cmd + N to make text bold
doesn't make any sense... we have cmd+B for that by default. If you would like
to change that you can go to Writer for example (tools customize keyboard).

In Mac all apps save document with cmd+S and Libreoffice uses cmd+G.

No, default save command in LibreOffice is cmd + S too... 'Save As' is
cmd+shift+S. cmd + G is as far I can see unused.

Strange. Are those commands really assigned to this shortcuts by default on
your computer? You mind reseting your user profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption_in_the_user_profile)

Can you implement zoom in and zoom out?
cmd(+)+ and cmd(+)- with twice model keyboards: with and without numeric
 keyboard in right area.

I agree, but that's already reported in bug 48485 :-)

Kind regards,
Joren

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\LibreOffice\org.openoffice.Office\Paths\org.openoffice.Office:NamedPath['Work']]

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\LibreOffice\org.openoffice.Office\Paths\org.openoffice.Office:NamedPath['Work']\WritePath]
 Value=file:///H:/Daten

For one, these entries should have a org.openoffice.Office.Paths segment
instead of just org.openoffice.Office, and for another, if it still doesn't
work then, it might help to simplify the set member notation, using just Work
instead of org.openoffice.Office:NamedPath['Work'].
