[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 79101] Installed printers don't show up in the print dialog box

2014-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #19 from Ole Berg olb...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #18)
 @Ole
did you check if printer drivers are up to date in that WinXP computer?

@Tommy driver up to date:
Driver in both WIN7 and XP computer is HP LaserJet 200 color MFP M276 PCL6
It is a brand new printer - Documentation mentions that it might no be fully
compatible with SW based on PCL5. Might that be an issue?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 79466] CONFIGURATION: feature request - key mappings

2014-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79466

Ok, I have figured out how to trick the UI into behaving the way I want.

There appears to be some (not immediately obvious to my feeble brain) algorithm
that decides which letter of the submenu command will be used for keyboard
walking of the menus, as opposed to that being hardwired. (In the version of
excel I use, the user can set this letter with a sentinel character in the
command name via the customize feature, which incidentally is incredibly klunky
in excel, but I see no similar sentinel char mechanism in LO.)

So, it turns out that it appears to be sufficient to use the LO customization
UI to just change the order of submenus in the 'insert' menu, so that
'Cells...' comes after 'Columns' rather than the default of before. In that
case the mystery algorithm chooses the 'C' of 'Columns' (presumably because it
is seen sooner), rather than the 'C' of 'Cells...', and therefore alt-i alt-c
inserts a column as I want.

However, although this behavior allows me to achieve my desired keystroke
behavior, it is actually a bug:

Namely, changing the *order* of items in a menu should not also have the side
effect of changing the *keystroke sequence* that invokes that command.

--- Comment #3 from Julien Nabet serval2...@yahoo.fr ---
Michael: it seems 4.3 is too much different from 4.2 for this part.
For example for the bt I retrieved:
in function lcl_CalcBreaks from sw/source/core/doc/docedt.cxx
   1409 const sal_Int32 nStart(rPam.Start()-nContent.GetIndex())
nStart value is 0 in 4.3, -1 in 4.2
that's why I've got a segfault line 1416:
  1414 for (sal_Int32 i = nStart; i  nEnd; ++i)
  1415 {
  1416 const sal_Unicode c(pTxtNode-GetTxt()[i]);

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: kolbjo...@stuestoel.no
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.0.beta1
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

In Impress, when the Task Pane window are floating (not docked) the menu
usually found at the right in the dialog window, the one with icons
Properties, Master Pages etc., is placed on a fixed place in the dialog window.
When closing and then reopen for example the layouts, the menu items get
visible only after the mouse hovering over it. If he mouse pointer is over for
example one of the layouts placed in the same place as the menu item, the menu
item disappears more or less when the pointer is removed from the figure.
I think this menu should stay visible all the time on the right side in the
dialog window whatever width I choose for it.
Or is this behavior intentional?
Kolbjoern

Impress. LO 4.3.0.0. beta 1. Windows 7

I have not found other bug rapports about this.

(In reply to comment #11)
I would like to squash this bug as my first contribution to LibreOffice. Any
 objections?

I don't see why anyone would object. Everyone has to start somewhere and with
something this bug/enhancement is a good one to start with, since it should
be easy.

I am not sure if it is absolutely necessary to remember the settings across
sessions (saving in a preference/settings file), but it certainly would be
extremely nice if it at least remembered settings within the same session.
Both would be even better.

I can't tell you how many times I have cursed at LO when working on a project
that required me to export dozens of things...

unnecessary numbers in po files

In the files defining user interface, there are some numbers that are
incorrectly marked as translatable. Therefore these strings appear unnecessary
in .po files for translation.

The list of these strings copied from .po files is attached.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 79455] FORMATTING: Ctrl+M does not clear language settings

2014-06-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79455

Walter stridero...@gmail.com changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED
 Ever confirmed|1 |0

--- Comment #2 from Walter stridero...@gmail.com ---
Sorry, i tried to be concise, but i was too concise!

A) This line is set to X means that I had set the language for that text to
X

B) To change the language:
   1. select the text
   2. change the language (the bar at the bottom of Libreoffice, where there is
the zoom size)

C) Language settings can be given also to single words or to a group of
paragraphs.

I do not know how it is set internally but I think that on CTRL+M the selected
text should return to the language of the stylesheet (Each stylesheet can be
assigned a language from the FONT TAB).

I have noticed that if I use clear formatting from the FORMATTING TOOLBAR the
language does reset to the default language.

Steps to reproduce the bug:
1. Write a line of text, eg Text 1
2. Write another line of text, eg Text 2
3. Write another line of text, eg Text 3
4. Select one line and change the language to Italian
5. Select another line and change the language to French
6. Select all text (Ctrl+A)
7. Clear direct formatting (Ctrl+M)

Actual Result: Each line withholds its set language setting

Desired Behaviour: that the language setting is set to the language of the
default style.

Code pointer:
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/connectivity/source/drivers/firebird/DatabaseMetaData.cxx#947

Other I suppose

Doc pointers:
1) http://www.firebirdfaq.org/faq340/

In SQL Standard, NUMERIC is a more strict datatype which should enforce the
declared precision, while DECIMAL can accept more numbers than declared.
However, in Firebird, both types accept more numbers (i.e. they behave like
DECIMAL).

2) http://www.firebirdsql.org/en/sql-conformance/

NUMERIC is not compliant and represents almost the same semantics as DECIMAL

3) http://www.firebirdsql.org/en/firebird-technical-specifications/

Name: Numeric (precision, scale)
Size: Variable (16, 32, or 64 bits)
Range/Precision: specifies exactly precision digits of precision
Description: Example: Numeric(10,3) holds numbers accurately in the following
format: ppp.sss

Name: Decimal (precision, scale)
Size: Variable (16, 32, or 64 bits)
Range/Precision: specifies at least precision digits of precision
Description: Example: Numeric(10,3) holds numbers accurately in the following

Please implement this feature, as it will be one of the determining factors
separating a modern desktop application from an antiquated one. Please do not
wait for other applications to implement this on the desktop.

This may not be a simple change, but it is a very important one. For all the
flash-in the pan changes made in software lately, why not implement an
improvement that makes sense. What UI improvement could be better one that lets
the user navigate your document with less disorientation?

As a feature, I ask that the importance be raised.

Thank you,
Brenda Make

* Make sure the GUI shows the Save Icon on the top toolbar, as well as the
slide overview on the left side.

* Add several lines of text to the third slide.

* Press the Save icon. And then be FAST for the next step.

* In the left sidebar click on the image of slide number two. Be fast and click
on this image DURING the saving action of LibreOffice. (If you aren't fast
enough, try again. Or add more stuff to make the saving action last longer.)

* Result: You save a document with three slides: ONE, TWO, THREE-blablalba. So
far so good.

* But also as result: In LibreOffice you have a document opened with FOUR
slides. The additional fourth slide is an exact copy of slide number three.
Sometimes I have seen ONE - THREEblabla - TWO - THREEblabla, and sometimes
I've also seen ONE - TWO - THREEblabla - THREEblabla as a result.

This behavior happens a lot to me, because I do press the Save button quite
often (maybe paranoid?) And when I continue to work with my document I often do
not realise the duplication of the last slide. And eventually I end up with two
different last slides, because some further changes I do to one copy of this
slide, and other changes I do to the other copy of the same slide. So for me
this behavior often was very near to destroying my actual work in progress
because it messes up my presentation document in a quite intriguing way :(

(This behavior happens with LibreOffice 4.1.6.2 on Ubuntu Linux 12.04.
Libreoffice was installed via the ppa libreoffice-4-1.)

I think this behavior was NOT present in prior version of LibreOffice (4.0.x I
mean).

I have made a Office 2007 document and save as pptx. After I open in
LibreOffice, some features not working, annoying and weird for me. Can you fix
in the next version 4.2.5 or 4.3.0 or 4.4.0...?

(In reply to comment #7)
Testing on Linux Mint, i've observed that the saving of the document takes
~10 seconds, even with the document only had 'Hi' in it. So this is a time
waster as LibO is unusable at that moment.

I just tried with LO 4.3.0.0.beta1+ on Ubuntu 14.04 x86-64 with 3 words in the
document. The saving of the document is less than 1 second and the file takes
3.2 mb. If I open the odt archive, the fonts directory takes 6 mb and contains
9 fonts (ttf files).

Best regards. JBF

Hi,

You should also go to Tools-Options...-Language Settings-Languages, and
check the 'Show UI elements for Bi-Directional writing' option (for 4.1, in
later versions it's called 'Complex text layout'). Does it work now?

On pc Debian x86-64 with 4.2.4 LO version, I don't reproduce this.

Do you reproduce this on a brand new document?
Is the directory you search the file is in local hard drive or
network/share...?
For the test, could you rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#GNU.2FLinux) and give it a new
try?
