[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80823] MAILMERGE: Use IDocumentMarkAccess::UNO_BOOKMARK to mark end of one mail merge part
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80823 --- Comment #1 from Jan-Marek Glogowski glo...@fbihome.de --- Created attachment 102189 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=102189action=edit hot spot function tree of a complex, 3000 documents mail merge via UNO. This is from my initial callgrind of a mail merge of 3000 documents with our real, primary document template, where the examples documents from #79067 are based on. The callgrind has 4.5 MB and I don't have a place to store it. Probably someone can offer storage ;-) So the callgrind would just be a reference, I can't supply the documents, but it shows the hot spots. The callgrind ran almost a whole weekend. FYI: the document has 19 special frames, that's why mail merge will stop after 3450 documents (16bit index used for the vector). Me / a collegue will work on a patch for that, but it's currently not our primary concern, as MM produces broken results for various examples documents. Fixes for most are in private/jmux/mailmerge-fixes. There are various patches related to MM perforamnce in private/jmux/sorted-pagedesc+spzfrmfmts = The hot spots = 1. AppendAllObjs This algorithm was probably written for a linked list, where removing the first element is cheap. For vectors it's ridiculously expensive, especially for vectors with 65000 objects... Working fix in private/jmux/sorted-pagedesc+spzfrmfmts 2. lcl_GetUniqueFlyName These code has two problems: 2.1 Creates a lot of temporary OUStrings (billions!) when doing atoi. - Actually most time is spend allocation and freeing the substrings! - Fix 1: directly try to convert the tail. 2.2 Has to check all entries in SpzFrmFmts. Most are invalid. - Fix 2: Sorting this array will help it a lot. - Fix 3: Storing the first hole when deleteing would even speed it up. Broken fix 1 + 2 are in private/jmux/sorted-pagedesc+spzfrmfmts With thsese patches, both hot spots are gone. = TODO = Undo for (vector) lists is implemented by storing the current position. For sorted lists undo has to store the index of the new object. Not really hard to fix, but I need more knowledge of the undo code to finally fix it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80794] FORMATTING: Right Align with indentation
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80794 --- Comment #3 from reportingbugs...@gmail.com --- (In reply to comment #2) I think this is not a problem of indentation or alignment, but of how (and when) the resulting cells are shown with the updated alignment/indentation. For example: 1_ In cells A1 to A4 enter numbers 1 to 4; 2_ Select the cells; 3_ Click align right; 4_ Click increase indent. Initially, cells A1 and A2 show the indent whereas A3 and A4 do not. But using the vertical scroll bar down, in such a way that the 4 cells disappear from the screen, and then move it back up, so the 4 cells would be seen again, the correct indentation is seen. My point is that the problem doesn't seem to be the alignment or the indentation, but the refresh of the result. In version 4.3.0.1 you can actually see the numbers jump to the left as you scroll, but if you export as a pdf, with the cells visable or not visable on the screen, the output pdf doesnt show the indentation for A3 and A4. So it seems that in the example given its a mixture of the screen not refreshing properly and some other underlying issue with exporting to pdf -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80823] MAILMERGE: Use IDocumentMarkAccess::UNO_BOOKMARK to mark end of one mail merge part
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80823 --- Comment #2 from Jan-Marek Glogowski glo...@fbihome.de --- Even for my 3000 pages doc, CalcLayout is far from any hot spot (MergeNew = 55%, CalcLayout 2.5%). I didn't yet look at the CalcLayout, but I hope it's possible to change the code to add an SwNode index, to tell it to just render the appended SwNodes (nodes after the index). But yeah - actually the number of pages could just be taken from the current working copy, but I guess this would confuse the copy of page anchored frames. I had to add an additional CalcLayout to the new SwDoc::Append code as a workaround for my delete first node problem, as I was visually loosing a page anchored node in the displayed document, while the saved document was correct. This is just a workaround in my branch, until I find the real problem in the drawing layer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34085] [EDITING] [UI] List of fonts incomplete in context menu
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34085 --- Comment #11 from Marina Latini mar...@studiostorti.com --- (In reply to comment #9) The comments in stdmenu.cxx say: // more than 100 fonts reduces the speed of opening the menu. // So only the first 100 fonts will be displayed. But cutting the list at font no. 100 and assuming that for the other fonts workarounds will be used is not precisely a clean solution. It resolves one bug by creating another. For example: Would it be possible to load just 100 fonts in the first instance and, upon scrolling down, then load the missing fonts dynamically in increments of 100? Or should the current list be replaced with a list of recently used fonts, as has been suggested before? At least that would make a coherent UI without bugs. I'm agree with you. We could replace the actual list with the list of recently used fonts (last 10 or 20 recently used should be enough!) tag VOTE added for this RFE :) The context menu is common to all the applications, we could change the component from Writer to LibreOffice. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77057 --- Comment #13 from Andras Timar tima...@gmail.com --- The fix above solves the problem, but leaves questions open. After this patch we'll register only LibreOffice's native file types in KindMap. For a better solution I need to find out, whether registry entries can be refcounted, so we don't remove items from KindMap with uninstall of LibreOffice, when other viewers are existing for that file extension. Important is a fast export of the first page to improve the user experience. So I wrote a macro which uses jumpToPage and storeToURL with the “writer_png_Export” filter. This all works. But slow for large documents. It looks like the storeToURL reformats the whole document for every page export. I think, this shouldn’t be necessary. It’s the same behaviour without macro. I open my large ODT file, so I can see the first page. Looks fine. Now I open menu, choose export/png. Now it reformats the whole document. Then it asks for the size and after that, it reformats the document again. Why? The first page is already shown and the export just takes the first page, so why is there a double reformat of the document? I think, this is a performance eating bug. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80477] StartCenter v. Menu Bar conflicting accelerator Alt+H
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80477 --- Comment #2 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- On Windows 7 sp1, 64-bit en-US Version: 4.3.0.2 Build ID: 14ed55896fdfcb93ff437b85c4f3e1923d2b1409 with en-US offline Help installed. With StartCenter UI panel open, two Alt+H accelerators are viewable. To choose use of one or the other keyboard focus must be shifted. With focus on the StartCenter the Alt+H will open help article for Start Center. Move the focus (with F10) onto the Main Menu bar. alt+H will open the Help drop down, a second H or F1 will open the LibreOffice Help main page. The accelerator can be either alt+H or simply h. On return from the Help items on main menu (either by accelerator, or by F1 special key)--focus shifts from main menu to the Help button on the StartCenter panel. Not sure that is the best landing point. Focus should probably remain on File button of the Main menu bar as with other main tool bar items. Or could shift back to the Open button of the StartCenter, location with focus when the StartCenter opens. When alt+H accelerator is used from StartCenter--on return, focus also shifts to the Help button, should probably also remain (shift back) to the Open button. Yet when either the Main Menu or the StartCenter UI Help button is mouse clicked, on exit there is no shift of focus from the object that held focus prior to the click. Seems like the behavior of the Help accelerator(s) should be consistent. Also there probably should not be two of the same accelerators visible on screen at the same time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69569 Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu changed: What|Removed |Added CC||kyosh...@slickedit.com, ||libreoff...@kohei.us, ||markus.mohrhard@googlemail. ||com --- Comment #4 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu --- (In reply to comment #3) (In reply to comment #2) Note: I have checked the modifications made by Lionel Elie Mamane... It appears as if this modification makes LibreOffice consistent with the documentation BUT not consistent with Excel's implementation of YEARFRAC. It looks like we have two choices here 1) Change our code to become consistent with Excel's implementation 2) Document the difference, e.g. on https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/YEARFRAC Lionel - Thoughts? I will not, under my decision / responsibility, make LibreOffice Calc depart from the ODF standard. Whether the ODF standard should be fixed to match Excel, or if the YEARFRAC option should be a different function in .ods files and in .xls(x) files is a question I punt to the Calc experts. I consider authoritative ODF 1.2 http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part2.html#__RefHeading__1017922_715980110 as opposed to https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=39507 I came into bug 40100 as a *user* because LibreOffice was giving me wrong results for an obvious case like =YEARFRAC(DATE(2023;1;1);DATE(2024;1;1);1), so I fixed it. As long as I'm able to get sane results fom my LibreOffice in some way, I don't care much about Excel compatibility. I mean: if Excel gives results that are wrong, then either give correct results in LibreOffice, or have basis 5 be the right result in LibreOffice, so that I can do =YEARFRAC(DATE(2023;1;1);DATE(2024;1;1);5) and get the result I expect. But don't cripple my LibreOffice for the sake of Excel compatibility. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
