2014-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81372

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 81372
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: LibreLogo: German localisation of identical program
does not run
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: kont...@gute2.de
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.5.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 102819
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=102819action=edit
The German translation of the same program. It does not work as exepected.

I created two versions of the same programm. It uses subprogramms with
repetitions. Here is the English version:

TO ROW
  REPEAT 2 [
FORWARD 1cm
RIGHT 15
  ]
END

REPEAT 3 [
SQUARE 1cm
FORWARD 4mm
]

ROW

The second program is a translation to German (see attachment). But that one
does not work as exepcted. When I run the German version, nothing gets painted
by the turtle.

--- Comment #21 from Marc Pare m...@marcpare.com ---
Hi everyone and Jay, here are 4 screenshots with the measurements..

Something strange, my Mageia system will sometimes pick out 2 instances of the
same printer/network printer. But in this case, it looks like one driver is
creating a #10 envelope size to correct dimensions and the second driver for
the same printer is creating a #10 envelope with the wrong size. Have a look at
my drivers for my Brother HL4020 and my Samsung SCX-4200.

Maybe this could be one of the problems with the bug. The #10 evenlope size and
dimensions are being skewed by the printer driver?

Marc

Note: there is actually 2 distinct bugs in this bug repport

the Mac specific problem of the alignment of the 'centered-dot' representing
the spaces

and the platform independent problem of the missing paragraph sign in centered
alignment. the later has nothing to do with CoreText.

PS: the paragraph sign is not displayed either in right-align justification
but that was also the case before...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81336] Base Query with IS NULL statement gives ... too complex

2014-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #8 from JuergenD juergen.deisenr...@nurfuerspam.de ---
(In reply to comment #7)
I see that the attached .odb is over a .ods as the backend. Does a
spreadsheet have the concept of NULL (as opposed to merely empty)? I
 think not.

I used IS NULL and IS NOT NULL for filtering empty and undefined fields,
because the database returns NULL for empty fields and single compares like
='' and !='' doesn't work.

With what backend did your IS NULL criterion work?
The spreadsheet is mainly a more than 10 years old adress database with
currently 28 columns and only 144 rows. I am using the database with more than
20 queries for some macros, serial mails, with report builder and drag and drop
actions from View Data Source.
The table structure changes from time to time and the spreadsheet gives me the
flexibility to work with different versions of LibreOffice, OpenOffice and
NeoOffice.

For me it's almost the same as in 4.3, the time and calgrind profile too.
If you are interested, you can find it here:

Anyhow, working on a callgrind performance test for this.

same with a NEW presentation

This bug does NOT depend on the file content. To show, I started LO, created a
new presentation, gave it a colored background and some title text. I'll attach
that file anyway as attachment #3.

It is NOT necessary that two screens are ON. Internal screen (bug doesn't show
if slides are presented here) is OFF (lid shut, see attachment #4, ONLY screen
ON is my external screen (bug ALWAYS happens if slides are presented here).

System details: LO 4.2.5.2 on W8.1pro (fully patched, only typical office
programs installed). Fujitsu LifeBook E780 (built-in NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M)
with 8GB RAM. Resolution internal screen 1600x900, external screen (DVI)
2560x1440.

Yes, I have HW acceleration enabled - but I want/need to enable it for my
business presentations. If I disable it, I get other oddities, like thin white
horizontal stripes in vertical color gradients.

Apart from the original bug, this screenshot (attachment #2) also shows another
oddity I encounter: the taskbar of Windows remains visible. IIRC, that only
started happening with W8.1, not sure.

thanks Matus.

your profiling will probably help improve the situation in 4.3.x which is still
suboptimal (that delay is quite annyoing on older machines)

regarding the 4.4.x performance I'll later test a newer daily build since I've
already experienced transient performance decrease in a build and subsequent
return to normality in another (see comment 16)

Go to Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Memory, and check your setting for
Number of objects. The default is 20. Increase that to something like
 100. Restart LibreOffice and give this document another try. Will that
 improve that situation a bit?

Yes, it solves the problem in this case. Thanks for this great workaround! But
the result depends from the sum of the objects of all opened documents, and it
needs to restart LibreOffice after the modified memory settings.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51203] Hyperlink Field Type in Base

2014-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51203

--- Comment #11 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #6)
I would just like a field type of 'Hyperlink' which works in the
 same fashion as MS Access.

This is just for information. The Microsoft Access Hyperlink data type is based
on the Microsoft Jet Memo data type i.e., it is a proprietary / non-standard
modification. Jet is the database engine used in Access.

SQL Server has no equivalent of this data type. HSQLDB (v1.8 or v2.3) and
Firebird do not have a Hyperlink data type either. The reason why these
databases do not have this type is likely because they rely on an SQL
specification (e.g., ISO/IEC 9075-2:2008) to determine valid data types.
Examining the Final Committee Draft (FCD) for the 2011 version of the SQL
specification, indicates this updated version still does not define a Hyperlink
data type.

Similarly, ODF v1.2, Part 1, §19.42 (p. 344) defines the db:data-type attribute
as being defined by ISO/IEC 9075-2:2008 and gives this example:

The values of the db:data-type attribute are bit, boolean, tinyint, smallint,
integer, bigint, float, real, double, numeric, decimal, char, varchar,
longvarchar, date, time, timestmp, binary, varbinary, longvarbinary, sqlnull,
other, object, distinct, struct, array, blob, clob or ref.

While I can see the value of having a Hyperlink data type, it would appear to
depend on one of these options:

1. Changing ISO/IEC 9075-2 (unlikely).
2. Changing ODF to support a non-standard data type (also unlikely).
3. Changing ODF to include a further data attribute indicating special
treatment of a VARCHAR data type (possible, but requiring an OASIS issue to be
raised).
4. Some sort of hard-coded implementation in Base for special treatment of a
VARCHAR data type (possible, but maybe undesirable).

Option (3) would seem most likely IMO.

the file is opened in LO Writer perfectly. Unfortunately, I can not test it on

Note that package libreoffice-pdfimport is not installed with libreoffice as
default in Debian. Maybe it is the same in Ubuntu. Check it if you use a
version from repository.
I am not sure which bugstatus (NEEDINFO, RESOLVED NOTABUG or RESOLVED

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81378] New: Permanent Crashes and Content Loss in Presentations

2014-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81378

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 81378
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Permanent Crashes and Content Loss in Presentations
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: thorsten.bran...@brace.de
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.5.2 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

I prepare regulary presentations with Libreoffice. The presentations are not
too large (50 - 300 MB) but contain (obviously) a lot of picture, most of them
in JPG Format.

On a very frequent basis (like 50 times a day) Libreoffice crashes

- When adding pictures
- When copying multiple pages with pictures
- When saving
- When save as
- When reduce size of presentation

It basically makes the program unusal.

Furthermore, the repair function removes a number of pictures which have to be
readded everytime.

Secondly, Libreoffice looses pictures after saving. The connection is broken
and only spaceholders are shown. When pictures have shadows, often only the
shadows are shown.

After adding a couple of pictures, typically filter not found is shown (which
happens by the way also in writer). I have to close soffice.bin and restart to
add more picture.

It seems to get worse with every version.

Sometimes Bad Allocation is shown, various library not found messages (more
seldom but never twice the same), and sometimes you can even select menus, but
cannot do anything anymore (save, close, move pictures...). Sometimes it just
closes without comment.

I was bearing for it since OpenOffice 1.0 for a long time, but it seems as this
problem never gets addressed, this is why I file the bug report now.

Ok thanks for the detailed info. So lets wait someone with large screen

Perhaps it's possible for you to check with LO 4.0.x and/or 3.6.x to see
whether it's a regression?
You could use portable version so it won't affects your current installation:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40534] Slide tearing in dual screen with h/w acceleration enabled

2014-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40534

--- Comment #12 from Duarte duarte.fra...@gmail.com ---
Sure, I'll be glad to help. I am not currently at home but I can test it later
tonight when I am back from work then I'll report my findings.

In the meantime at work I also have a dualscreen setup but this time with
different older specs:

Windows XP 64bits
nVidia GeForce 9600 GT
One 1920 x 1200 display
One 1680 1050 display

The reported screen tearing and display errors don't happen in this setup even
with hardware acceleration enabled, so as Olav Seyfarth as mentioned it seems
to be triggered by large resolution (apparently over 1920 x 1200)displays.

Let me know if I can help with any other bug or testing

I've been aware of the following situation for a long time in this forum,

Exactly. This is not a forum. It is a bug tracker. And a shared one, FWIW.

Don’t be misled. This ticket was marked “invalid” because it’s not a bug in any
of the software products that track *bugs* in this Bugzilla instance. That’s
the only reason.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62361] FILEOPEN without optimum row height calculation

2014-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62361

--- Comment #6 from Bernhard Dippold bernh...@familie-dippold.at ---
Update:
Tested with LibO 4.3.0.2 and LibO-Dev 4.3.1.0.0+ (2014-07-14_09:38:08) on Win
8.1
Sorry for a longer description, but for a decision, if this bug should be
closed, you need some more information:

Step 14. results in increased row height, so re-building of the sample
documents is no longer possible.

But if you open the sample document sample_333_02.ods from the attached Test
Kit, you still experience the reduced row height:

Instead of 41 lines in cell A1 on Sheet1 the cell is cut at 21 lines, according
to the content.xls it's about 8,6 cm height:
style:style style:name=ro2 style:family=table-row
  style:table-row-properties style:row-height=8.585cm fo:break-before=auto
style:use-optimal-row-height=true /
/style:style

So LibO uses the row-height defined in the file, but ignores the flag
style:use-optimal-row-height='true' in the UI.

As cell A1 on Sheet1 is selected you can find the height of row 1 just in the
menu: 'Format - Row - Heigth' described as 16,64 cm.

If you click anywhere in the file (except the LibO menu) the cell is expanded,
but the row indices at the left border keep the wrong height.

Only if you force expicitly a recalculation of the screen (by OK on row
height in the menu, moving the focus out of the visible screen modifying zoom
factor or anythign like this) you get the right height including the indices.

Even if you save the document and reopen it, you will get the right row height,
as it saves the value style:row-height=16.639cm in content.xml.

So the bug seems to be still valid - as the behavior in the description
FILEOPEN without optimum row height calculation is still the same, if you
look at the UI.

In the background recalculation seems to be done nevertheless (as to be seen on
the menu entry Format - Row - Height) - so the resulting bug is only a UI
refresh bug, no more recalculation.

Should we close this one and open a new bug for this behavior?

Best regards
Bernhard

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81346] Paste Only should also have a 'Date/Time' option

2014-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81346

Of course you're correct Kevin but:

Paste Only does not provide the combination of 'number and format', which is
what I'm after.

I suggest that you try the following:

1) create two columns and format them as Time.
2) key a time value into a cell in one column, it should look like a Time
value.
3) copy the Time value that you just keyed and then use Paste Only - Numbers
to paste the value into a cell in the second column. The result is blank,
nothing was pasted. The format of the cell is still Time. Paste didn't paste.

Text doesn't work either.

You have to use Paste Special - Date time BUT WITHOUT the Formats option
ticked. If the Formats option is ticked then Conditional Formatting Rules are
fragmented and this gets very messy very quickly.

My point is that when someone decided to provide an enhancement called Paste
Only then they should have included Date Time as a fourth option, not
limit it to just Text, Number and Formula.

OK, did parallel installs using LibreOffice Server Install GUI v. 4.2.3.1 (had
to be run as admin to be able to create directories in my systems program
directory.

Tested default installed versions 3.6.7.2, 4.0.6.2, 4.2.6.1 and 4.3.0.2. They
had to be started once as admin to be able to run. Subsequent run work fine
without admin rights. Tests are performed during second (non-admin) program
run.

Just created new presentation and clicked on Master slides - Abstract red,
then pressed F5. Then I took the screen shots.

The taskbar is NOT visible in 3.6 and 4.0 but is visible in 4.2 and 4.3
parallel installs.

Also note the small glitch in the lower left corner (present in all versions).

3.6.7.2 always crashes (even if I just start it and let it wait in the start
screen) after approx. 25 seconds. Crashes also while presenting: the full
screen presentation remains displaying the slide but upon pressing ESC, I get
the crash notification. It yields the same display bug though (if creating the
slide, change its master and F5 quick enough).

I have carried out the same on a Windows 8 machine using LO 4.3.0.2 and the
same crash results. I have therefore updated the platform affected to All.

A crucial detail that may not be fully apparent from the original method is
that the comment seems to be need to be on a text range (so you need to select
several characters and then add comment, a comment at a single point will not
cause the crash).

(In reply to comment #3)
With libreoffice 4.2.5.2, ubuntu 14.04 x86, I do not reproduce the
 segmentation fault.
However, there is no available tables/ranges shown for the link:
 http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/external/excel/quotes.asp?SYMBOL=IAU

Thanks Kevin. The same behaviour as described I can also confirm for these
systems / builds:

- Debian 7 x86_64 running v4.3.0.2 Build ID:
14ed55896fdfcb93ff437b85c4f3e1923d2b1409
- Crunchbang 11 x86_64 running v4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID:
3fdd4f069d5436cf39708004af7fda8175fbc4c2 (2014-07-09).

I am therefore closing this bug (RESOLVED / WORKSFORME) as the segmentation
fault no longer occurs. Bug 81113 now describes the main issue of the query not
returning.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69861] Page wrapping and pagination problem

2014-07-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69861

--- Comment #7 from Michael Bauer f...@akerbeltz.org ---
I've asked Larry (the guy who's having the problem), he responds:

Regarding the bug I reported -- yes, the box Load user-specific settings with
the document IS checked.

In re-checking, it now appears that both LibreOffice and AOO in their most
recent versions, are having problems with those existing files. When they first
open one of them it comes up fine. But as soon as I ask for a print preview,
they re-paginate and for some reason less fits on a page so the document comes
out longer (and graphics tied to paragraphs may not fit on the same page,
leaving blank areas.

I'm wondering if this is somehow related to a problem I've observed previously
with AOO but not submitted as a bug report: When I copy paragraph styles from
an existing document to a new one for consistency, most often some attribute is
changed. For instance, the font specified in all the copied styles comes up
italicized or bold; or the spacing is changed. I've not been able to figure
out why, so have just manually adjusted them back to what they originally were.

This does not work in LibreOffice version 4.2.4.2. Irrespective of the setting
Hidden text in Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer, Formatting Aids, text
formatted as hidden text does not anymore display, and for practical purposes
is lost.

Steps to reproduce the issue

1) Open a blank document, open a phrase of text.
2) Select a few words, then Format - Character - Font Effects - Hidden
3) In Tools - Options - LibreOffice Writer, Formatting Aids, check Hidden
text. The text still does not display.

Horrible regression which breaks the useability of hidden text.
